After what ended up being an awesome wedding filled with alcohol, I decided to have something healthy during this morning of my Hawaiian vacation. Little did I know that we’d have to wait more than half an hour, but this is an area both tourists and locals frequent, and it’s easy to see why. The menu is simply loaded with items good for both breakfast and lunch. I ended up having the Super Bowl, which is an acai bowl with granola, apples, bananas, strawberries, blueberries, almonds, and honey. While it was tasty, it was a little too frozen for my liking, and I would’ve prefered more of a creamy texture to it. I wanted more yoplait, less sorbet. I also ended up washing it down with a Avolicious smoothie, a primarily avocado shke with cinnamon, a coconut sorbet, and honey. There was good balance in it, but I thought it was a little plain and could’ve used a little more sweetness. Now that I think about it, I don’t know why I went healthy. A friend of mine ordered the flight of pancakes, which is their signature dish but after I had Yogurstory’s ube pancakes and prime tib loco moco the day before, I didn’t wanna go too crazy with the pancakes. I’ll definitely be back if I find myself in Oahu again.

My favorite stop. Anytime I’m in Kapolei I have to stop and have breakfast or lunch. I love there flight pancakes and there grilled salmon with jalapeño

We drove out to Kapolei’s Halekuai Center thinking we’d have time to eat breakfast before seeing the first showing of a movie at the new Regal Theaters at Kapolei Commons. However, upon checking our tickets that we reserved online, we realized that we had started out from town to Kapolei with only 45 minutes to spare to the start of the movie. So, we proceeded to the theater with growling stomachs and bleary eyed from not having any coffee. The movie that we chose to see was«Finding Dory» and after seeing it I changed my mind about ordering the Blue Crab and Asparagus Benediction. I mean, how could I possibly eat seafood after seeing such a cute movie about sea creatures? So, instead, I ordered the Flight of Pancakes while my husband ordered the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast special. Let me tell you… ever since a certain restaurant located in downtown Honolulu stopped serving their Tiramisu pancakes, my tastebuds have been searching for those luscious pancakes which tasted like«chocolate teddy bears». Today, I FOUND them in the Flight of Pancakes. I received a platter of 3 mini-stacks: 1– Lilikoi(Passion Fruit), 2– Chocolate Taro-Haupia Sauce and 3– Cookie Butta Luva. All 3 pancakes were warm, fluffy and subtly flavored. The sauces atop each different stack were dessert-worthy as each pancake seemed to dissolve on my palate. I swooned and cooed as I savored each stack while washing down the sugariness with a mug of Kona coffee. My husband’s Chicken Fried Steak was tender, nicely breaded and crisped. It was okay but seemed a bit salty to my taste. Its saltiness was a good foil from all of the sweet pancake sauces as he and I shared tastes from our plates. Service was quick, friendly and pleasant… we ordered at the counter, took a seat and our order was delivered to us with a smile. There were a lot of parking spaces in the lot but you need to make sure you park in the stalls marked for 2 hours rather than the 30 minute stalls so you don’t have to rush through your meal. Would we return? Heck, yeah! I’m looking forward to trying that Blue Crab and Asparagus Benediction as I won’t feel so guilty about eating seafood.

Good for breakfast for most; especially if you like sweet things(which unfortunately I have to cut down on). But based on what I ordered, it wasn’t exceptional for me.(My rating — 3 ½ stars). On the other hand, if I did like sweets(like before), their«Flight of Pancakes» was a popular choice among the diners there; would have probably given them 4 stars. You can see other Unilocaler’s pictures of this plate. I ordered the Chicken Apple Omelet(which was big $ 11.95), and chose it with their potatoes(which came out like Skin on French Fries cut into cubes). The omelet was average; so was their potatoes(although the good part it was fried with white onions); could have used ketchup but since I have to cut down on my sodium intake… My wife ordered their recommended Blue Crab Asparagus Benedict($ 16.95); and that one was good; one of you should order this one for sure. Kona Coffee was $ 2.75 each(they ran out of Hazelnut Coffee which was fine with me). You do have to place and pay for your order at the counter, get your own water in a paper cup from their dispenser; grab your cream packets, then go sit down, and they will bring your coffee and order to you. All in all, this will be a one time visit for me. Maybe if I had tried one of their daily specials(there was a biscuit with gravy choice I was considering), I have might have had a better experience. But again, if you have a sweet tooth, you probably would like their«Flight of Pancakes» option. :)

Before every blood donation, I treat myself really well and have an extra special meal. For example, I’ll have a steak because it’s full of protein and iron. This time, I chose to have the Blue Crab Benediction(not a typo for Benedict) and the Flight of Pancakes from My Café in Kapolei, Oahu. I had this on my radar, and it was strongly calling me… So, with blood preparation on my mind and thinking that I’m sharing a special meal with the people who receive my blood, I’m going to make it count and give them some good quality food through happy and healthy blood! I went at an «off time» between breakfast and lunch, so parking was easy and free. I caught a stall right in front of the restaurant! I didn’t have to sign in on the clipboard — there were two tables open, and I got the one at the window for better lighting(for photos — haha!). Since I was really hungry, I was happy to get seated immediately! I say that it’s «good quality food» because this restaurant chooses local sources and fresh produce. I believe that they are doing their best to support our economy and help our community! I like that! The routine of the restaurant is this: order at the counter, pay there, take your number to your table, then the food will be brought to you. The service was efficient, pleasant, and helpful! If you want water, it’s self service from a dispenser at the end of the counter from the cashier. Utensils were pre-wrapped in napkins for quicker and more sanitary distribution. Special serrated knife(to cut through the layers of the benedict) was wrapped separately and delivered to my table without my asking. I appreciate all of these little details! FOOD(2 items): 1. Blue Crab & Asparagus Benediction — perfect! The sourdough base was wonderfully buttered and crisped! The crabcake was smooth and tasty with a light crunchy outer layer! The asparagus was firm and fresh! The sauce was just right! The eggs were soft and moist! 2. Flight of Pancakes — Lilikoi — delicately tart and slightly sweet; Chocolate with Ube sauce, a sprinkle of coconut flakes, and topped with a fresh strawberry; and Cookie Butta Luva with cookie crumbs on the top! I thoroughly enjoyed each flavor and clever combination! None of them were«too sweet» — yay! I’m looking forward to my next visit.(Remember that they close at 2pm every day.) My goal is the Grilled salmon, an acai bowl, the Garlic Kalua Pig, a Fresh salad, Breakfast Bagel, French Toast, an omelet, Garlic Fried rice, and/or the Chilaquiles. I imagine that I’ll be there sooner than later! I’m getting hungry already!

Unilocal led me here! And I’m ever so glad I listened. This morning I took the boyfriend to My Café to check it out. I had read reviews on their awesome potatoes and pancakes. Here in Hawaii it’s been hard for us to find really good breakfast potatoes. Rice is a much more popular option. So we headed in at 8:30 on a Tuesday. When we arrived the usually super full parking lot had lots of great spaces still available, but beware the parking at this strip mall is usually crazy busy and super tight. We entered the café and were instantly greeted by a very nice young lady. She let us choose our table and walked us through their ordering process. We were seated immediately. You have to go up to the counter and order and pay before you get your food. We ordered Garlic Kalua Pork Hash and the pancake flight! I ordered a hazelnut coffee too!(Free Refills included) we had our food within 5 minutes. The hash was great. Flavorful, crispy, hearty and delicious! The potatoes were amazing. Eggs cooked to order perfectly. The pancakes were not only delicious but drop dead gorgeous! Talk about Instagram worthy. I loved each one. The hazelnut coffee was strong and nice and hot. It was served in an adorable«classy yet, sassy» mug. Which was just a small detail that made my trip here completely worth it. We were checked on 3 times, and one of the servers got me a coffee refill she was even considerate enough to ask me about my cream and sugar requirements. Which is something usually forgotten for refills. The restaurant was clean, the staff efficient and the walls have gorgeous art work. We were in and out in 45 minute and I even took a while to enjoy my coffee refill! The only minuses are– small space, could be very cramped during busy times. The ordering/seating process could be confusing for a newcomer if they aren’t immediately greeted by staff. And parking during busy times.

Delicious hole in the wall type of place. We came on a Tuesday morning at 10 am and there was a line to be seated. 15 minutes for a table for two. Not bad. We went to Starbucks next door and by the time we walked back, our table was ready. We ordered at the register and got our food within 10 min. Hubby and I ordered the following to share: Spam breakfast plate: Furikake and Panko breaded spam with eggs and rice. OMGSOFREAKING delish! The spam was crunchy and«katsu style» while the runny eggs and rice made perfect combo. Corned beef hash plate: not canned corned beef folks– this is the real deal. Super tasty and hubby finished the plate in like 4.5 min. Pancake trio sampler– forgot what it’s really called, but came with taro, biscoff and one other one. The sauces were perfect and was a great end to an amazing brunch!

We went here before our flight back to California. My wife ordered their Flight of Pancakes and i ordered their Loco Moco. The person who took our order was really friendly. But the food we ordered was just ok. Their Loco Moco was good but I’ve tried better tasting ones on the island. Zippys loco moco was better and cheaper. Their pancakes was ok. We didn’t have to wait to long for our food to come. We will be back and try their other food on the menu.

The food is alright, maybe we should have tried some of the more popular items like the eggs benny. Instead I had the garlic kalua pig hash and the flight of pancakes. If this restaurant is known for anything then is has to be for their pancakes, they have an assortment of unique flavored pancakes like lilikoi, cookie butter, and more. The garlic kalua pig hash on the other hand was a bit too salty for me. The place is actually fairly small and kinda confusing. We had a waitress take us too a table and we were sitting there for a good 30 minutes before she told us we had go up to the register to order and pay first. I guess I was just assuming that since there was waitresses walking around they’d take our order for us, but this is not that kind of restaurant. Also, at one point, another one of the waitresses asked us THREE times in the past 15 minutes if we were doing okay, it was a bit bothersome as me and my bf was just trying to eat and have conversation.

I’ve been meaning to visit this place for a while considering that breakfast restaurants are my absolute favorite! Everything is just amazing here, good food that looks pretty as well. I didn’t just go once, but twice in a row because I wanted to try more things. On the first day I got their breakfast burrito as well as their Cookie Butta Luva Pancakes. The burrito was amazing, with just the right amount of meat, cheese, potatoes, and eggs. It comes with Salsa and Sour Cream, I would highly suggest that you get extra salsa, cause that stuff is bomb with the burrito. Their Cookie Butta Luva Pancakes were really great as well. The cookie crumbles on top provide a good crunch to this stack of love. The following day, I ordered the Jalisco Scrambled Eggs and got to try the Loaded French Toast. The Jalisco was amazing, it looked beautiful with the sour cream, salsa, and cilantro drizzled on it to give it’s bright colors and made me wish I asked tortillas to put the eggs in. For the loaded french toast we held everything but the fruits, a great addition to have. The toast was moist and tasted great. Try to get a bit of everything with each bite, that’s the best way to eat it.

First of all, I’d like to say how ashamed I am that this is my first review in many many months! I don’t even deserve to have the app on my phone! But I’m going to remedy this problem with a promise… I WILL start to write more reviews and will finish all of my unfinished drafts, too! I’m challenging myself to one review a day. Or maybe even two. Or maybe just one every other day… we’ll see how it goes There’s no better place to get back into the habit of writing reviews than the lovely and delicious MYCAFE in Kapolei! The café is small and gets busy but at no time, ever, did we feel rushed or unappreciated. The service was perfect! Everything was done with a smile, even when I asked them if they could cook my son’s eggs on a clean new pan with fresh utensils to help avoid cross contamination with some of the foods he is allergic to… I know I can be a big PITA but they were more than willing to help me out. When we got there around 10:30am it was pretty busy… there were a lot of people outside and we were told the wait would be about 20 – 30 minutes. What a pleasant unexpected surprise when we were seated in less than 10 minutes! Of course I ordered the Flight of Pancakes. How could I not? Mini Cookie Butta Luva, Lilikoi, and Chocolate Taro Haupia pancakes! What a delightful combination of flavorful yumminess… I couldn’t decide which was my favorite. My husband got the Blue Crab & Asparagus Benediction which was made to perfection! The perfect amount of crab, asparagus, hollandaise sauce on a perfectly poached egg. Pure yummy! The whole experience was wonderful. The interior design of the café was so adorable, the staff was super friendly, and the food was delish! I’m sure I’m forgetting stuff… but forgive me, I’m a little rusty at writing reviews. It’s been a while. All I can say is that if you are ever in Kapolei between the hours of 7am-2pm and you’re starving… go to MYCAFE! Your tummy will thank you!

Crab Cake and Asparagus Eggs Benedict. The End. Nah Nah Hearing so much about this place and the flight of pancakes got to me. Let me wake up at 6am drive to Kapolei and wait for them to open at 7am on a Sunday Morning. I was that dedicated to getting my food. I texted Mel B., You don’t have a choice! 630am we will be there or else! We don’t care if no one else showed up in our group… I want them eggs benny bad. Gladly, He was down. Thanks for being that awesome friend :) Mel B., his son and I arrived around the same time and I thought Jules Y was not going to make it, honest we thought she was going to sleep in. But as I got to Kapolei she got up and made it on time! We waited till it opened, got our seats and went up to order. The process is you order, pay then they bring your items to you. The cashier was rude, I asked her do you guys use square? if yes I don’t need a receipt and she looked at me like I was stupid. So I just said yes I need a receipt. Don’t roll your eyes at me. Jules and I got the eggs Benny, Mel got the fried rice and his son got an omelet. We got a flight of pancake to share! Crabcake eggs Benedict: Had a live review, they saw me take out the crab shell as I was eating. They use REAL crab, not fake meat. It was in a butter garlic toast. I didn’t like that, it was also a bit too salty. Flight of pancakes: PICTUREWORTHY! but wait there is a but… I only had the butter cream which I thought was good, the sweetness was perfect, didn’t eat the chocolate with raspberry cause I let someone else eat it. You can’t take cake from a child, he could have my share :) They don’t have a bathroom inside, ask for a key and it’s upstairs. We asked for a key and they gave us the MEN key. Jules and I didn’t notice till we got up there. We just used the men’s haha oh well. She went back in and told them, they didn’t even make it a deal to apologize and ask if we wanted the women’s key. POOR Customer service. They checked up on us a lot to a point where it felt like they were rushing us out. Ok I understand we were there from 7 to 930… not my fault… they were talking and still trying to finish our pancakes. This place would have gotten 4 stars but the fact that I didn’t like how I was being treated, especially since I drove out there with high hopes, all the reviews I’ve read was good. The service just made me feel awkward. The girl who refilled my coffee and brought me cream was actually very sweet and smiling all the time. It was the cashier who seemed like she didn’t want to be there. It’s early, I guess we all grouchy.

We were sooooo hungry and there was soooo many things on the menu we wanted to try! We ended up with: Turkey Loco Moco(you have a choice of beef or turkey pattie) with over medium eggs over rice. Was good! Chilaquiles — was literally a bowl of breakfast nachos! My chips was on the soggier side from the salsa it was topped with, I ate ¼ through and was over it. Super acai($ 10) it was good and we ordered it for the kids. Nothing special, could have gotten the one at Jamba which was next door. Coffee was nut Mac flavor. Free House water is flavored with pineapple. Maybe we didn’t like it as much due to what we ordered. Will probably come back to try the other items we were debating over… Next time maybe the corn beef hash and pancake flight! Maybe we’ll like those more.

Okay so if there are busy which can be on weekend mornings, you may have to opt for take out if you cannot wait for a table. As you enter they give you menus to take to your open table of choice. You get your own water(paper cups and dispenser near the register). There was a note saying the water has pineapples and it was in the filter. Be careful if you are allergic, you would have to ask them to fill up your cup with water instead. Anyways, the staff on three occasions here were consistent with being happy and patient. I had to wait for my friend to use the restroom and not once did any employee give me any dirty looks for taking more time than usual to place my order. I appreciated that a lot. I tried their wraps to omelet with fried rice to the famous flight of pancakes. To be honest I thought the cookie butta and new malasadas pancakes is 5-star worthy in taste and portion! It was the right amount of sweetness. The malasada pancakes come with two and have sugar and vanilla custard in between the stack. Oh and it was so good to chew on. The wraps were okay, nothing special. The fried rice is good but my bowl of fried rice was more on the dry and non sticky. I prefer my fried rice more like a chain food competitor.(Z****’*) cough cough. If you need a to use the restroom, you need to ask for a key and it is located upstairs in the building. Parking can be a drag so I suggest to either drive with your plus one and one person drive around to find parking(starts frm across the Chevron and ends by Burger King for parking spaces) and one person places the order.

Even thought it’s a small place, the staff is friendly, Service is very organized and the food is sooo fresh. Call ahead and put your name on the wait list if you’re going during peak brunch time! Then just check in when you get there. My only gripe is the price. Fresh food but it is more on the expensive side. Overall good place to get your smoothie or eggs Benny fix! Make your way to the West side. Happy Brunching!

Good food. A little on the pricey side for breakfast. I haven’t tried everything but all the things I have tried to far, so good. Personally when I had the flight of pancakes I only ended up enjoying one, the cookie butter. But it was a good way to sample the different flavors. The corned beef hash was amazing! Roasted potatoes, real corned beef brisket. yum! There are still some things on the menu I’m coming back for… The spot is quite tiny so there normally is a wait. And be prepared to possibly bump elbows with neighbors or get squeezed into a corner by the kitchen. I’m glad they started accepting credit cards! Not everyone carries cash all the time. Parking around the area can be tricky…

«My Café» — heard about it, people raved about it and only made my way there today. Why did I wait so long??? Located directly underneath the social security office located in Kapolei. Parking is very slim due to the nearby Starbucks and Jamba Juice so get there early. We arrived around 9am and the place was pretty packed already, wait was about 20 mins for 2 of us. They have a different approach where you wait for a table to open up then you order from the counter where your given a number to place on table and food is delivered out to you. Beverage are either bottled, water is self service and coffee refills you can get from counter. So basically no table service besides the food drop off and the bussing of dirty dishware. While we were waiting for our table we looked over the menu which is nicely chalked up on the wall nice and big. Menu is pretty vast and a lot of interesting items such as Pastele Sausage, Lilikoi pancakes, etc… Once we are called we go to the counter to place our orders. I went with the corn beef brisket hash, eggs and rice, side order of sour dough toast and a side order of pastele sausage(because I had to try it) of course a coffee and OJ(bottle of Odwalla) Food was delivered pretty quick with it being pretty busy which is always a plus. One bite into the hash and i was in love! So ono! Fresh cornbeef nicely shredded with potatoes and onions! Now the pastele sausage was super good surprisingly. I was a bit hesitant but figured give it a try. It was delivered as one piece sausage, drizzled with sour cream sauce and garnished with sliced olives & cilantro. Looked weird, sounds weird but it was good. If you ever in the area definitely give this place a try. Be prepared to wait for a table however but it’ll be well worth it!

My Café… Cute name!(3 stars) For someone like me who doesn’t really care for«breakfast foods»… My Café gives people like me a good variety of things to try! This was the BF and my first time here. I called in before we left our house to see if I could put my name on the waiting list and the nice lady that answered the phone said right now it wasn’t terribly busy however it could get busy… So she added my name to the list! Worked out great because by the time the BF and I got here it was busy! We walked in and got our table and I had the BF sit while I stood in line to order. The menu is festive and colorful so it kept my ADHDINCHECK! Of course, I know what the BF eats so I suggested Chilaquiles to him and I think he is happy I did! What we ordered: –Chilaquiles –Kama’aina Fried Rice with Eggs –Side Order of Corned Beef and Onions Hash –2 Vanilla Mac Nut Coffees Chilaquiles.(3.5 stars) I got to try a few bites of the BF’s Chilaquiles and I really liked it! Everything on this dish is FRESHANDREFRESHING! Fresh jalapeños and cilantro and sour cream made this dish so good(and not«breakfasty»)!! The only thing that I would have liked is if this dish were served in a skillet(thus keeping the tortilla chips crispier…) but the BF disagreed and he seemed to love the fact that the tortilla chips soaked in the flavors of the dish! I guess it’s just preference but if we come back here anytime soon… This would be the reason why! Kama’aina Fried Rice with Eggs.(3 stars) First off, I don’t consider Fried Rice(breakfast food). Kama’aina Fried Rice was flavorful and I liked the touch of garlic crisps that gave this dish a robust(but not overpowering) dish. The portion size seems deceiving because the bowl doesn’t seem terribly big but when you start to dig in… Let’s just say I took home 2⁄3 of the dish! I was full after! Side order of Corned Beef and Onions Hash.(3 stars) I have to say this was disappointing. It definitely wasn’t worth $ 10!!! But it was my fault that I didn’t ask for the price before I ordered it. I wanted to try this dish because I LOVE corned beef(only homemade not canned!!) so when I see Corned Beef on the menu I have to try it! Anyhow, the corned beef was tasty and not tough although there were way too many onions for my taste! Aside from that though it was a smaller serving and I can honestly say I have made much better hash than this! The potatoes used in the hash were baked nicely making this dish salvageable. I had originally asked the cashier if I could order the corned beef hash with a scoop of Kama’aina fried rice at an up charge. She said no… I should have just stuck to my fried rice order. Oh well lesson learned. Our total bill was $ 38. I would come back for the Chilaquiles or maybe lunch. But at least there are some options for me as the BF loves breakfast foods and he really likes My Café.

Hubby and I have eaten at My Café several times now, both during the week and the weekend and it’s always been crowded! It’s crowded for a reason… My Café is delicious! Sometimes we drive out to Kapolei JUST to eat at My Café. When you arrive, be sure to sign in and wait outside on one of their chairs. Once your party is called(when a table is ready for you), you order and pay at the counter and take your number to your table. Before long, your delicious breakfast/brunch/lunch is delivered hot and fresh to your table. Self serve water is also available at the counter. The Café itself is pretty narrow, but super cute. I love the menu written on the wall and the flowery décor. Onto the food. We usually get pancakes(flight, or chocolate taro haupia) and fried rice(Kuulei veggie or Kama’aina) or an omelette to share. The pancakes are so good! You really can’t go wrong with any of the flavors. Sometimes they have special pancakes for the weekend. We just had their chocolate pancakes with mint chocolate chip ice cream sauce this past weekend for St. Patrick’s Day… it was amazing. The sauce wasn’t actually ice cream, but tasted like melted ice cream was poured on top. Yummerz. Fried rice: Both options come with two eggs any style. Be warned, this is A LOT of fried rice. we normally end up taking half home and make our own eggs for breakfast the next morning. They don’t make the fried rice til you order it so it’s nice and hot. I love the flavor and bits of garlic. Grilled Chicken & Avo Omelette: Another one of my favorites. The egg is so thick and fluffy! Inside the omelette is juicy chicken, tomato, avocado, onion and cheese. Delicious. Note that this is not a «local style» omelette where all the ingredients are mixed into the egg. I always get the breakfast potatoes with this one. You could also get toast or rice. Everything we’ve tried at My Café so far has been great. I wish they weren’t so crowded, but that is definitely a good thing for local business! They always have great friendly service and the food comes out quickly! We will be back… probably sooner rather than later: P

I’ve being wanting to check out My Café ever since I saw pictures of their delicious-looking pancakes on instagram! I don’t come out to Kapolei much, but fate has finally brought me out to this side and brought me to My Café :3 It’s much smaller on the inside then I expected. However I love the paintings on the wall of sakura tree’s! I also love the chalk board menu. The Grub. OMELET — Tried the chicken apple sausage and swiss omelet($ 10.95). This omelet also comes with spinach, onion and tomatoes. Personally I think I liked the omelet more than the scramble. SCRAMBLE — Hailli’s scramble($ 10.95) comes with bacon, onion, mushroom, spinach, sun dried tomato, and asparagus. I thought this dish was alright. PANCAKES — Flight of pancakes($ 10.95) samples 3 different pancakes. It comes with lilikoi, chocolate taro haupia, and cookie butta luva. I love love loved this flight of pancakes! It was the perfect way to end my meal! Out of those 3 flavors, cookie butta luva was my favorite, then lilikoi and lastly the chocolate taro haupia. Overall: I’m a fan! I hope I’ll be back in Kapolei soon so I can come back for more :3

This is a review for the Flight of pancakes. Flight of pancakes is a trio of(6) pancakes. Regular for the cookie butta(with crumbs) and lilikoi sauce, chocolate for the taro haupia sauce, all supposed to be topped with whipped topping. Seeing all the rave reviews and beautiful pictures for this, we finally make a trip! Upon arriving, there is a long line outside so we opt for takeout. 1 plate each for the keiki’s about $ 12 each.(We got a lot of keiki’s) A bit pricey for me for pancakes but I’m thinking, 6 pancakes with gourmet sauces is a treat! The excitement from the kids quickly reside after the long wait for our takeout order. But finally start up again when receiving the plates. I understand that take out isn’t as pretty but a bit more effort could have taken place. Unboxing the pancakes I see everything thrown in. On one set of the pancakes, it’s served with a fresh strawberry on top and that was smashed by the other ones. There could have been paper to separate each set and arranged nicely with coordinating sauces! These pancakes are tiny! Sauces are skimp in those containers too. No whipped cream. I’m a little concerned at this point but now the tasting. Pancakes by itself were bland. Even boxed tastes better. Cookie butter sauce was light on flavor, like watered down. Cookie butter has a strong flavor and should stay that way! But that wasn’t the only problem, it tasted terrible. Couldn’t put my finger on that one. How can cookie butter get messed up?! Chocolate Pancakes with Taro-Haupia Sauce was another fail. Pancakes were also bland. Sauce was weird, no one ate a second bite of it. Regular pancakes with Lilikoi sauce was probably the best. Sauce was good, plain lilikoi sauce. These are the reactions from the kids!(We agreed) All different range of ages and seriously not at all picky eaters! I mean, sugar anything for kids should work but not here. Definitely not worth your money or time or taste buds! Kids never finished their pancakes and left hungry! We wanted to love this but I guess that Love Story isn’t meant to be! 1 star for Most Photogenic Pancakes

If you haven’t been here yet, I highly encourage you to do so. I suggest before going, you call to see if you are able to reserve a table. If not, you will be waiting for quite a while, this restaurant CAN get very busy to where you are waiting for an hour or even more. Trust me though, it is worth the wait! How convenient it is to have a awesome BREAKFAST restaurant located on the west side that is not Denny’s or Koa pancake house. The drive to cinnamons OR boots & kimo is just too far, worth it, but way too far. I suggest you try the flight of pancakes. It’s 3 different flavored pancakes, stacked beautifully and drizzled in syrup and loaded with tons of sugar! Who doesn’t love sugar?! The traditional eggs & benedict will always be a favorite breakfast dish of mines, and MyCafe did a wonderful job in delivering it to me, just the way I want it. I absolutely love their potatoes, so very yummy! I’m drooling as I write this review thinking about how yummy my breakfast at MyCafe was. I have tried various omelettes from them as well, it’s a basic omelette, nothing fancy. But looks doesn’t matter right? It definitely hit the spot ;)

Whoa, did I seriously forget to review my favorite breakfast joint on the West side? I must be slippin’ in my old age or perhaps I just need to drink more wine… If you know anything about the West side, it’s that there is a desperate need for more good food! There are some days when I cry myself to sleep at night because I miss the ease and variety of eats in Honolulu town. So when I discovered My Café, I almost hugged the waitress. I’ve been to My Café three times so far and each time I order the exact same things for myself: 1) Crab and asaparagus eggs benedict: Fantastic if you’re a fan of crab and hollandaise sauce. I doubt I will ever order anything else because I enjoy it so much. 2) Trio of pancakes: Small portions of pancakes in three flavors. It’s the perfect way to try their different flavors because I get tired of eating things after three bites. This is more than enough to share with a friend because portions are big and the food is rich, but delicious. When I’ve gone with my little family, my husband likes to order the omelets and my kids devour the french toast. Sign up for seating at the counter, and when tables become available they’ll call your name. You order at the counter and then they give you a number which you take to your table. They bring you your food which I’ve always found comes out remarkably fast and always hot. If you’re not into the waiting game I recommend take-out which always seems to be popular. The parking lot is always full at this shopping complex so arrive early or park on the other side of the building. Pro Tip: Call ahead to put your name on the list or else be prepared to grab a coffee or smoothie from next door and wait… wait… wait.

Hearing this place gets busy, I convinced mom to go early to try to get there by 7:30am. We got there at 8:30am and was still fortunate enough to get a table. Probably because it was a Wednesday. There was no greeting when we walked in. No one to guide us to what we needed to do. It was busy, all the staff were doing something and moving quickly. Tourist were in early so they could get I Wasn’t sure if I should sit or go where everyone was at placing orders. Finally, someone saw the confusion on my face. She came over and guided us to our table with menus. She explained once we’re ready we can come up and order. I knew before hand what i wanted to order. I advised mom to let me order and she can share. She was fine with that. As I was waiting, one of the waitresses made a coffee that was not needed at the time. She didn’t know what to do with it and had confusion all over her face. I’ll take that cup and a decaf if you don’t mind I said. She was more than obliged. She explained where the cream and sugar was. I grabbed some and placed everything down on our table so mom could start with her 1st cup of coffee. She told me she liked it and that’s a good thing. I then placed the order. You are required to pay for your order upfront. Something a little different but no worries. You are given a number for your table so they know where to deliver your order. It did take a tad bit for the order to be delivered but that’s understandable with it being busy. However, the food was delicious making it worthwhile for the wait. Everyone was very friendly and courteous and seemed to love what they were doing. Kama’aina Fried Rice $ 10.95 A unique fried rice flavor, and a meal in itself filled with bacon, spam, portuguese sausage, ham, garlic, beansprouts, white and green onions, and grandma’s sauce. I’m glad they didn’t use too much beansprouts. Not enough to bother me. Just not a fan. Green onions is a must for fried rice. Glad to see them in here. I don’t know what’s in that sauce but I like it. I’ve tasted many fried rice around the island and I’m never happy with them because there’s not enough of the tasty bits. This was not the case. This fried rice was tasty and flavorful. And the bits were nice sizes that I could taste. I would have still liked the bits to be larger but the fact I could taste them was a big plus. Really like this dish. Flight of Pancakes $ 11.95 The pancakes were fluffy. There were three types; mini cookie butta luva, lilikoi, and chocolate taro-huapia pancakes with whipped cream. I decided I would try this according to my preference starting with what I liked best the lilikoi, and the chocolate haupia last. The lilikoi, I found, was sweet. A bit sweeter than I would have preferred but nice. Love lilikoi. The butta luva not too sweet at all and with pancake came off very well. However, the chocolate haupia was the winner for me. The colors were amazing too. Did I tell you purple is my favorite color? hehehe Love the little bits of coconut providing a bit of textural contrast. Thsi has got to be their signature dish. The look, presentation itself, sells it without any words. Then you’re hit with the wonderful taste. You may want to get here quick thought. It looks like they raised the price by $ 1.00 from Victoria A.‘s review, and that was only a few days ago. Roasted Walnut Coffee $ 2.75 Okay. Not a big fan of walnut. Felt the price was high, however, we did drink several cups making up for it. On a cold morning like that, it was soothingly comforting. Gawd, such a nice feeling. Love how the plate ware was different for each table giving everyone a slightly different feel. Something interesting to look at. Customer service became spot on once we sat down. The waiter checked with us several times for water and asking if we needed anything else and if the food was okay. Coffee was filled up several times. The servings were large. Mom ended up eating most of the pancakes. I could not finish the fried rice and ended up eating the other half for dinner. Starbuck’s, Jamba Juice, Thai Lao and Papa John’s all share the same parking lot. Get the picture? Be careful where you park. They tow heavily out of this parking lot. You can, however, ignore the 30min. time limit for some of the stalls. I’ve asked on several occassions. They don’t seem to be enforcing that. I am looking forward to my next visit. Hopefully, with some of you.

What a cute shop! with a cute name! My Café! Prior to my bookmarking this place, I keep seeing my friend’s FB post with the mini trio pancakes. Curious to find out where this place is, I Unilocaled it &WOW! I just couldn’t wait! My Café is located in Kapolei, Kapolei’s GEM! I’m happy, I got to check out My Café & sad because its so far for me,(I wish My Café was closer, in town) My last day of my staycation, before having to head back home to town. My other half dropped me off,(while he went to look for parking) to get a table, a 20 minute wait. On a Friday, mid morning, I noticed there were more and more people waiting, after we got our table & after we left. This place is very popular! After your name is called, you will place your order at the register, you will get a #, No table service, except when they bring your food to you. I really like this concept. I enjoyed looking at all the artwork on the walls while waiting for our food. The workers & cashier really works hard! & they are friendly. Great customer service! Me & my other half shared the following: Flight of pancakes, 10.95 for 3 different flavors of pancakes. The flavors: cookie butter luva, lilikoi, chocolate taro haupia. Our favorite was the cookie butter luva. The pancake taste so fresh & moist. Kama’aina fried rice– 9.95, comes in a wooden Hawaiian bowl. (reminds me of small kid time when I used those bowls) Oh my, the fried rice was very tasty. The meats, eggs, sauce, seasoning just broke the mouth! so good! I love that they just add bean sprouts, makes it even more tasty! As I am eating, I’m already making plans to come back here. I will try to sneak out here, during my next appointment. I really recommend this place, its worth the wait! & when you see the long line, don’t worry! the workers are fast, they do their best to get you a table. &YES, they except credit cards! Thank you FB friends for posting your pancake pictures, now I can finally post mines! 2016 #5/100 Unilocal challenge

Came here at about a little before 9 am on a weekday. Thank Gosh no line :). The last time we came here the line was out the door. Hear a lot of good stuffs about this place and wanted to try it out with my Daddy. When you first walk it you notice how small this place really is… Wish it was bigger to accommodate the serious demand on this place, but I guess that’s what keeps this place the«must go to». Ordered the corn beef, fried rice, and the pan cake sampler plate… A little on the pricier side but well worth the portion that they give! L If you want a taste of Hawaii, definitely recommend going here and trying the local favorites… Trust me!

Literally… ASGOODASITGETS here on the westside plain of Oahu! Where DO you go for a decent breakfast this side of the 808? Pickings are slim lemme tell you! Thank ba-Jesus My Café is here! Word has been out that this place rocks and people don’t mind the wait for a seat at Kapolei’s «newest» trendy place to eat. Come in, get seated(they will seat you) and order(and pay) at the counter when you are ready(the sooner the better). It’s not a huge place and seating is limited hence the long wait at peak times. Sundays are the busiest and traffic peaks between 11-ish and slows a bit down towards closing at 2 p.m. Service is fast and orders come flying out of the pass quick! Turn and burn… ok not the food, but the tables is the name of the business without sacrificing customer service. Excellent customer service btw!!! If you’re looking for what to order… all those beautiful pictures of the FLIGHTOFPANCAKES is not just eye candy. It’s as tasty as it looks. It’s a trio of double stacked 4″ fluffy and light pancakes each boasting it’s own individuality of COOKIEBUTTALUVA(cookie butter with cookie crumbles), LILLIKOI(a duo of lilikoi sauces) and finally CHOCOLATETAROHAUPIA(taro haupia sauce and coconut flakes) all for the great price of $ 10.95. I personally think it’s a great deal since you get to sample three types of pancakes. We usually order this to share as a breakfast«dessert.» **As a side note, I took my girlfriend here who is a diabetic on insulin and I was afraid she couldn’t and wouldn’t share in my FLIGHT of pancakes… but was pleasantly and gleefully surprised when she joined in on my diabetic feast(minus the dusting of powdered sugar). So you CAN have your cake and eat it too… but don’t listen to me. Portions are big and flavors are robust, savory and fattening! This is NOT the place to go if you’re on a diet. I’m in love with their benedicts! Kalua Pig with the lomi tomato concoction with the creaminess of a done right egg benedict melts my heart(arteries)(or rather clogs it up)! If you are on a diet, let this be your cheat meal — it’d be worth it. Cheat it up with the blue crab and asparagus benedict as well. OMGosh… just harpoon me already, no wonder I can’t lose weight with items like this on the menu. Can I lick the plate without looking like a pig? Probably not. Coffee here is DELISH! Strong, bold, robust… puts a pep in your step! It’s not for the faint at heart. Ok…so parking has gotten horrendous in this area and you’ll find yourself playing merry-go-park along with all the other would be patrons to this small strip of businesses. Prices are slightly higher than what I’d normally pay for a breakfast place but completely worth it if I don’t have to drive to town for a decent place to eat. Thank goodness townies don’t flock to the westside to eat here or else I’ll never get a table.

Came here with my daughter for breakfast one morning. You walk up to the counter and order and they bring your food to you if you’re dining in. Food was great and portions were generous. Prices are a little steep but I thought well worth it. I had the crab cakes Benedict and my daughter had the banana pancakes. Both were good, however I like my bananas in the mix and cooked with the pancakes and they serve pieces of banana on top of the pancakes. No biggie. I also like a lot of hollandaise sauce so asked for extra in the side. I want to try something new on my next visit. As we ate our meal I looked around and saw a lot of tasty looking dishes! The pancake flight looks delicious. We will definitely be back to try something new!

After all these months of seeing pictures of the pancakes, cute mugs, and art work… I decided to check this place out. My friend and I decided to go on a Saturday morning which was empty around 8 am. Make sure you go early because once 9 am hit, it was packed inside and out! We ordered the flight of pancakes and eggs w/chicken apple sausage and potatoes. And don’t forget the coffee! Everything was delicious. For not a sweet tooth, I enjoyed each of the pancakes. Though there’s different sauces I’m glad that they complimented each other. Looking at the pictures you would think this set would be super sweet but surprisingly it wasn’t. The cookie butter isn’t sweet, the lilikoi is tart, and the coconut is sweet. Yum! As for the chicken Apple sausage, I was shocked of how much sausage they gave. Especially when other places only give you like four pieces. However maybe next time I’ll skip on the potatoes because it wasn’t really cooked all the way. Overall nice place to check out if you’re ever in Kapolei for breakfast! Def reasonable prices and not too far away from home.

I am so glad I was able to finally make it out to My Café! I have seen so many pictures of all their food & heard pretty good things about them! My friend & I wanted to eat before we spent the entire day baking at the beach so we decided to stop by. When we arrived around 930 there were a few parties ahead of us but the wait was only 15 minutes or so. The menu board has so many different options but I immediately knew I was ordering the flight of fluffy pancakes. I really loved the lilikoi, then came the cookie butter & lastly the purple one. The purple one wasn’t my cup of tea because it was too sweet for my taste buds. My friend ordered the kama’aina friend rice & had to take most of hers home. She really liked it. The restaurant is cute & cozy. I think it’s a great breakfast spot where you can casually have breakfast & catch up. I’ll definitely be back soon to try more things!
