Denny’s

Lisa B was an amazing server. She was very friendly and energetic. Fairly quick except when we were waiting for the check. Food was great and I used to not care for Denny’s. Definitely will come back!

My dad and I usually go to dennys in kunia and we never have any problems. However we were in the area and he wanted to eat the dennys in kapolei. We sat down wait awhile for our server Ashlyn C. to come and say she would be right with us. No problem. She was nice but thats about it. We waited again for our nachos that were cold. My dad being him said its okay and we ate it anyways. Then shortly after that our food came. Lucky my dad opened his sandwich before he took a bite. There was a cheese wrapper still attached to it! She never came back to see if everything was okay. We plan to just stick with the kunia one. Horrible customer service and okay food.

So, the one star reviews are true. We were seated with a different couple at the same time. They received their drinks and food, before we were even greeted for drinks. It took 40 mins for them to take our order and they still didn’t bring our drinks after an additional 20 mins. So we ordered our food and left. Wasted over an hour, so we had to make sure to send a message and have them waste time making food for no pay. Sometimes reviews dont work but actions do. Waste my time, and I’ll waste yours!

They suck!!! Short staffed been waiting forever for our order !! People who came after us got their orders before us! Never coming again! Don’t recommend this place!

This has to be the absolute WORST visit I’ve ever had here! Over an HOUR to wait for our food! First we waited for 30−35minutes to be seated, when that was not happening, We then changed to make our order a «to go» order, now it’s been another 35 minutes! As i’m writing this I’m still waiting… what gets me is other people were coming in, in parties of 2’s, 3’s & 4’s and they were getting seated, walked right pass us, some didn’t even have to wait! When I initially Walked in a waitress who is familiar with my special group was going to seat us in the back where she said there were 7 open seats and another female staff looked at me up and down and said «oh no, they have to wait!»… So I looked at her confused, waiting so she could take my name and count of people to be seated and she never looked at me, never asked me for my name, never asked me how many people nothing! I try to bring my group here at least a couple times a month, because they love it here, some don’t have much, & it’s a special treat for them to eat out in a nice restaurant, we were going to watch the new movie coming out today «finding Dori» at the New Regal theaters, but after today, and the treatment we’ve received, discrimination toward my «challenged» group & attitude of the staff there was unforgettable! This incident is what I’m calling it happened starting at 9:50am on June 17, 2016 at the Denny’s in KAPOLEI !
*Not worth the aggravation and disappointment and lack of professional courtesy to come back!

Tried something new… Went here for dinner instead of breakfast. I guess everyone else with kids was doing the same thing!
Tried the spicy siracha (sp?) burger… Wasn’t spicy at all! We also got the a regular burger with Onion rings and a kids meal burger & fries. Guess we should have just went to Micky-D’s! The food was disappointing for what you pay. Onion rings were cold and burgers were hockey pucks!!!

Best experience here this morning! :)
Usually I don’t come here because my past experiences aren’t that great. It’s usually bleh service, food is ok, and the food takes FOREVER.
But today,
Today was wonderful!!!
Thank you to the host, she greeted us immediately once we walked in and sat us down right after with a smile! And big thanks to our server, TASHA!!! :D
Tasha is super friendly, always smiling, and constantly checked up on us to make sure the food was great and we were just well taken care of ! I loved that she gave us options when we ordered, and esp when she asked if I wanted cheese on my egg bc I didnt. Haha and she suggested this spicier sauce with Tabasco peppers when my boyfriend asked for Tabasco, loved that! :) the food didn’t come out quickly but it came out faster than usual! I had the French toast grand slam for $ 13. French toast was really fluffy and cinnamony which was delish! Scrambled eggs, 2 piece bacon, and 2 link sausage was good too!
Area was nice and clean! The food was super filling too!
The only thing is I wish I was notified about the limited time, independence day/​red white blue menu that was hidden on the table with the pepper and jellies. They had much cheaper deals and other options for breakfast! If I seen that, I would’ve ordered differently today and got a cheaper breakfast with more food possibly, like the French toast slugger? That came with French toast, eggs, hash brown, sausage/​bacon, and comes with juice or coffee!!! All for $ 8
But still a great experience here!

The food was fine for the most part and our server was very pleasant. However, my toast was burned on one side, and only slightly less so on the other. Guess what? Whomever prepped it decided that, rather than make new toast, to just flip it over to the less burned side give it the green light to my table.
It was only a slight disappointment, as I took the toast as a sign from the Universe that I needed o decrease my carb intake anyway.

Went to the kapolei dennys cuz my friend wanted to eat here for dinner so we came all the way from town just to eat at Denny’s.
I ordered a berry lemonade smoothie but the server got me the wrong drink and brought the blueberry lemonade which I didn’t order. So I asked that I ordered the smoothie not the lemonade. I just didn’t like that they got my order wrong with sucks. The food was good and I enjoy eating the nachos. My friends ordered burger and friends
I wouldn’t give it a 5 star because of the order miss heard so 4 is something like average rate. The place was good and fast service too.

Hands down worst Dennys I have ever been to.
The place was empty. Walked in made eye contact with one of the staff members then stood there and waited over 15min for a stay member to come over and greet our party. Should have left at this point. Food took over 30 minutes to come out (we ordered salads). At the end when it was time to pay we went up to the register and waited 15 minutes for our waiter to come over and ring us up. While we were waiting our waiter was watching us as she placed silverware on empty tables. The staff was so rude and so slow. Stay away.

I’ve never had a bad experience here. We’ve come late at night and during the weekends at peak time (breakfast). Food is always timely, drinks refilled, customer service on point. We have our favorite servers– but no one has given us bad service like mentioned in some of the reviews. My fav is the chicken fried steak skillet, nachos and they have a new item called bacon cheddar tots — limited time only for their crazy bacon event. So yummy and served with sour cream.
It’s Denny’s people — the only one on the island that is not a franchise. Which means it’s part of the official chain of Denny’s. This also means they don’t run out food or certain items like the others one do. Worth the trip!

I was here several years ago and did not like the food at all… Fast-​forward two years, and The veggie omelette I had was absolutely wonderful!

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! I SWEAR I’m never eating at any Denny’s because of this. If any of you reading this get’s a fat waiter when the name Cheyne (Pronounced Shane), just walk out.
9:40: Got seated
9:50: Older nice lady takes order. I ordered T-​bone steak medium rare.
10:10: Other people on my table starts to get their order.
10:25: Everyone has their order.
10:35: Asked another waiter to check on my steak.
10:45: No water refilled ever since we got there.
10:50: Steak FINALLY comes but is REALLY rare. I did not eat it and just went home hungry.
No compensation what so ever… Again never going to any Denny’s even if friends or family were to pay.

Real talk: Inam was a super cool waitress, always checking on her section and very courteous to her customers. Unfortunately, we were NOT in her section. We were in Annette’s.
My friends and I got here and were promptly seated at 11:30. Unfortunately, we seem to have been seated at a table which exists in a black hole outside of time and space.
It has been two and a half hours. We have seen Annette maaaaaybe three times. The first time was when she came to take our order. Forty five minutes after our order was taken, Annette came back a second time to notify us that they did not have any of the three things my friend ordered, including the iced cappuccino. She did, however, reassure us the food «would be out shortly.»
The first two of the three plates arrived at 12:30. The third did not arrive until after we flagged down the friendly bus boy taking away our empty plates to find literally any server willing to check on our table. The bus boy managed to find Inam, who found Annette, who finally came to our table the third time to bring my friends… food.
The steak skillet was badly burned, over easy eggs cooked to plastic perfection, indistinguishable veggies glued to the skillet in a sea of black tar. Twenty minutes after the decision that this was quite frankly some serious bull and horse whiz, bus boy and THANK GAHD INAM finally took pity on the poor souls still sitting at 1pm in the Pit of Despair and called in The Manager, our next nameless hero of this tale.
Not even ten minutes later we had water, tea, a brand new perfect skillet, soda, and the skillet removed from our bill with profuse apology.
6 minutes after that, Annette came to ahem «check on the table» (saveherass) and blame the chef for the food (whichshedidntcheck). We did not see her again.
Our service improved dramatically once it was The Manager and THANK GAHD INAM came to continually check on us and save the day.
The time is now 1:35pm. We have finally made it out alive from the Grunge Den. We left a tip for Inam (THANKS INAM!)
Now my friend is full, and I am hungry for lunch.

I think this place deserves more than 2 and ½ stars.
We always come around 10 O clock and yes there is a wait but it isn’t horrible like others mention.
This is coming from a lady with a 1 year old baby!
I really enjoy Inam as our server! Such a nice lady, I swear she lives there because we’re served by her all the time lol.
My family orders breakfast but I always order lunch. I’m picky with my bfast that’s why. PLUS they’re Cali club sandwich is SO yummy.
I really enjoy eating here over Zippys, anytime.

THE WAIT IS FOREVER! dont matter what time it is… The wait for ur food is LONG.
The staff needs to use QUIETA VOICES customers CAN HEAR ALL the conversation (s) and laughter going on… Also YELLING OUT the orders and it seems the staff just Learns to deal with mainland style…
Its great that they are open 24/​7, and are in Kapolei, next is Zippy’s on Kamokila Blvd… which is open 27/​7, they got it more together than Denny’s. Hands down
I dont know how or who makes/​cooks the food, prep the food or who assembled the food but I think THEY NEED MORE PPL to get the food out FASTER!

It’s been 5 months since the last time we came back to the westside and I’ve missed this Dennys’ location because of its convenience. Having breakfast with Hubz today. We were seated promptly and we placed our orders ASAP (we already knew what we wanted). Order came out in less than 20mins and everything was fresh. I need to make it out here more often. Town doesn’t really have a Dennys location nearby where we live.

Pardon my amusement with some of the harsh 5 star expectation reviews for a Denny’s of all places lol.
Anywho, unto my review!
I’ve never had any issues here anytime me and my wife would dine here for breakfast.
SERVICE is always pleasant and quite efficient. Drinks topped off, dishes constantly bussed, servers would occasionally check up on us.
FOOD is what it is, not exactly 5 cuisine but just that convenience they give you of not having to wake up in the morning and be subjected to kitchen labor ha.
PRICES are of course a few bucks more or in some cases equal to the good ol’ golden arches. What I especially are the portions, each entrée is big enough to serve 2 people which me and my wife love because we get to share and taste different things.
Quite frankly, this is the best Denny’s I’ve ever been too! Thanks Denny’s Kapolei for the pleasant service and letting me enjoy a hit the spot breakfast without having to be sentenced to kitchen labor on my day off!

Finding ourselves in Kapolei later than we planned, and starving for dinner, we ended up at Denny’s. It’s hard to hate this place, but it’s always hard to love it. The restaurant feels like it’s at the end of the world when the shopping center is closed as it is at the end of the road. The big plus it had for us that night was that it was open!
We were greeted somewhat quickly and seated in a room with happy customers. It’s always funny to be a restaurants well past dinner time, people are eating whatever meal they feel like. The server tried so hard to be friendly and accommodating, but the service was so slow for the restaurant being mostly empty. The food took forever. When it arrived, it was exactly as I expected for Denny’s, solidly good but nothing special. My dining companion’s garlic bread tasted like chemical butter and was inedible. My sandwich was fine, I had the regular club. It had a lot of meat and looked nice. The fries were a bit soft and definitely the frozen variety. I was just happy to have plenty of ketchup at my disposal.
What’s with the tiny water glasses? They hold enough for one big gulp. This is extra troublesome when the water pitcher rarely returns.
For the quality and service, it was way too expensive. Despite the negatives, I was happy to be eating something hot. Would I return? Yes! Will I love it? Probably not!

After leaving Barbers Point to welcome 2016 our group decided that we were still hungry. We opted to stop by at Denny’s in Kapolei.
Before entering the restaurant I noticed that they passed the Department of Health inspection. As soon as we entered we were greeted by the hostess. I spotted one of those grab a prize machines filled with stuffed animals on the right side of the doors.
Once our group settled into the booth we looked over the menu. I already know what I want… a clubhouse sandwich with fries. My friends were still deciding on whether to order breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Our group ended up ordering one breakfast menu item and two lunch menu items. When our waiter, Donovan, came around to take our order I noticed he didn’t have a tablet to jot down our orders. He did everything by memory.
Several minutes went by before our plates arrived. My friend who ordered the breakfast item ended up with two plates… one for the pancakes and the other for her bacon, over easy eggs, and two scoop rice. My other friend received a bowl of salad with ranch dressing on the side as well as her tuna sandwich on a separate plate. I received my clubhouse sandwich and wavy fries on a plate. I noticed it was a different sandwich. The sandwich wasn’t the original clubhouse but the Cali clubhouse sandwich that has thin slices of avocado and wheat bread is used. I didn’t return it since I was totally hungry. The Cali clubhouse was delicious. I managed to eat almost everything off the plate… with the exception of a lonely french fry. Totally stuffed to the max afterwards.
Customer service was outstanding by Donovan. He even asked us if we wanted any desserts before heading out. Women’s restroom is very clean and it has only two stalls. One thing good about Denny’s being open 24hrs a day it’s not crowded at 1am.
