J. Barton offers the Katy shopper a piece of the Galleria — without the drive. They have the cutest clothes and several designers that are great for date night and special occasions, but also lower priced goods that cover weekends and even work. I love the store, the gals there are very savvy about fashion and tell you the truth. Every visit there has been a fun experience and I walk away happy!

I’ve shopped here a couple of times and really liked it. At my most recent visit. I tried on pants that were stretchy and after spending an extended amount of time in the store trying to decide what size would be best, the associate suggested I purchase 2 different sizes and return the one that did not fit. So I did. I wore one pair for a few hours and they were falling off so I decided to return the larger pair and keep the smaller size. I attempted to return the pair that did not fit, as was suggested to me, and they would not accept them. They told me that they could not be returned because I’d worn them and said that no store would allow you to return a clothing item that had been worn.(That’s not entirely true, but ok) If that was the case I wouldn’t have purchased 2 different sizes and brought them home in the first place. Obviously, why would I do that? They said there must have been a miscommunication. Apparently there was, I understand that if that is their policy, then that’s their policy; but if it is –every associate should know and should know how important it is to clearly communicate that. Now, I’m stuck with a pair of pants that don’t fit(but luckily one pair that does) They had an opportunity to keep a customer by providing better customer service and instead let me leave never to return. It would have been very easy to keep me but absolutely nothing was offered except for an «oops, your loss.» There are way too many shopping options to take that approach with your customers.

I also find the clerks to be snobs. I have tried to shop here numerous times and I have never found anything I would like. The clothing is pure Texan cowgirl. I found the same dress they had here at another boutique in Houston for $ 45 less., same exact dress! They try to be upscale, but they do not carry the clothing line to support the image they are giving off. They also do not update their store website. I went in looking for a jacket I saw on their website and they were so rude stating in a snotty way, that was last year we carried that jacket. Well maybe you should update your website!!! They sell Not Your Daugter’s Jeans which you can find in most department stores, you don’t need to pay boutique prices for them. As much as I want to shop local and support the small businesses in our area, this is one store that doesn’t deserve my hard earned money. Appreciate your shoppers!!! Treat everyone like they are special ladies, this just may save your business. Everytime I have shopped in this store, I have been the only person in there. I don’t expect their doors to be open much longer, the rent is too high in La Centerra Plaza to support an empty store with no shoppers.

I left feeling like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. They were pretentious and had a condescending air about them. I went in with my baby and although they made conversation after I made it clear the prices were fine, they still looked me up and down like I couldn’t afford their clothes. They had no idea that I was wearing a summer dress from years ago because I had just moved down from freezing cold Chicago. I guess they think they’re Gucci. No wonder the store was empty. Shop elsewhere.

Really cute and unique selection of clothes. You can find a lot of different brands here that can’t be found in the big retail stores(which is nice because you don’t have to worry about everyone else owning the same dress as you). The staff here was very friendly and helpful but not pushy at all.
