I have been to the location off I10 and greenhouse and it’s always been really good so I took my husband for his first time to this location and it was TERRIBLE! I did an online order which kept pushing back the time I ordered at 12:50 and it said it wouldn’t be ready till 1:30. I picked it up at 1:15 and it was sitting under the heat lamps, I got home and the food was COLD, the fries were so SALTY we couldn’t eat them, the burgers only had a few spot of seasoning on them and were VERYBLAND! Was the biggest waste of money, I could’ve gotten a better meal at Whataburger, we will NEVER go here again! And it has definitely ruined my appetite for any Smashburger for a good long time

The food is great, always fresh, and delicious. Also, the wait is very short. Great service and great food!

Decent burger, I ordered grilled chicken and got a smash burger… but decided to eat the burger anyways. The gluten free bun was soooo delicious! The buger itself was dry, but I loved the smash sauce. My side salad was really good, the lettuce was fresh.

Terrible all around! The other reviewers are accurate with regards to the service and poor quality. The worst burger place in town!

I’m a fan of the SmashBurger chain. I’ve come to learn that not every SmashBurger is created equally. This one is one of the better ones in my experience. Every time I’ve eaten here, the burgers are properly«smashed» creating the signature texture SmashBurger is known for. Typically I keep it simple and stick to the original with cheddar cheese. I have ventured out a few times and tried the specials like the Colorado burger(pepper jack cheese, chipotle sauce and green chiles) and Windy City burger(pretzel bun, mustard and cheese sauce). Both were excellent. I’ve also had the Harvest Salad with chicken here. They got my customized salad order correct and the chicken portion was pretty decent. If I had one knock on this location it would be the fries are hit and miss. Sometimes you’ll get the Smash Fries fresh out of the fryer piping hot, and other times you can tell that they’ve been sitting for a while. It’s a problem I’ve noticed at every SmashBurger location I’ve dined at. Other sides like the Haystack Onions, fried jalapeños and fried pickles don’t seem to have this issue. SmashBurger is my current favorite of the fast-casual burger chains, and I’ll keep coming back to this location.

I had a really great experience at this Smashburger. The staff was enthusiastic and friendly, which got my visit off to a good start. My burger and fries came out promptly and were perfectly done. I was even pleased with the crispness of the bacon on my burger. I will definitely return to this location again.

The atmosphere of this place is super casual and it’s usually pretty clean and doesn’t get crowded easily! People LOVE the food here — they say that if you don’t like a burger here, then you wouldn’t like a burger anywhere. Their milkshakes are absolutely delicious; I usually get the vanilla and my sister gets the Oreo(and adores it). Give their Smash fries a try if you’re there — the seasoning is good, and the normal fries are the type you can find in most places. Update: I tried a burger through the build-your-own-option and I’m staying with what I said earlier in this review.

My wife had coupons for $ 2 off a Smashburger. After reading sone of the reviews, I was a little hesitant about going. However, this place is good. I would give them 3.5 stars tonight. The thing we loved were the Smashfries. Wow! We had them as sweet potato fries. They were perfect. No grease at all! My wife and I both had bunless burgers. The burgers tasted good, but I still rank Red Robin and 9’ers above Smashburger. Service was outstanding. We did have to wait for the cashier to show up at the start… not sure where he was. Food was brought out very quickly and we had folks come and check on us numerous times. I definitely give service a 5 star rating. They could work a little on cleaning the floors under the tables. It is not a large place and the décor to me somewhat hinders from appearing clean. It is a hard color combination to make look clean. I give them 2 stars on cleanliness. They need a little work on this! Overall, I will go back. We have a couple more coupons to use. It would be nice if they allowed you to specify how you want your meat cooked. But for the price, you can’t beat this place.

Worst place ever! It was poorly run, the place was messy, they were under staffed and the food was just eh… I don’t think this place planned on the amount of people that dine out in Katy. They moved slower than turtles running through peanut butter! I ate there a few months ago and haven’t been back since!

This is our alternative to Fuddruckers. Usually the burgers are nice and juicy… you don’t get to choose how cooked your meat is. But they do let you build your own burger without you having to do it yourself. I love their rosemary parmesan fries but the last time we ordered it, it looked like a pile of grease… unappetizing but still ate it. Sweet potato fries… nothing special.

Pretty good spot, not that crowded on a weeknight. The burgers are cooked to order and came out nice and hot. They were juicy! The fries are hit or miss. The Smash Fries are my favorite but sometimes they come out super greasy and soggy. Other times, they are crispy. Cooking with oil oil can be difficult. The food is good and if you have the Smash Fries, you will be visiting the restroom afterwards as they are like laxative. The bathroom is OK although it could use some attention. The music selection is a bit suspect though.

Note — Smashburger has changed their chicken strips(ate here November 8, 2014). No longer are they fresh, battered, and fried — now they are serving dried out, previously frozen chicken strips. Such a disappointment. The burgers are good, but the chicken strips, until now, are what kept us coming back. We likely will not ever return.

I like smashburger for what it is; tasty, fast and gluttonous. It doesn’t pretend to be a hip, gourmet burger joint, which is nice since sometimes I just want to grab a really good burger in less than 10 minutes. You can order off the menu or create your own, and then select the patty size. Had the truffled mushroom burger with a fried egg on top. Perfect. The truffle mayo isn’t excessive, just the right amount. My only gripe is the mushrooms were lacking :(. ONIONSTRINGS!!! yes please. so tasty, and such an abundance of it is given. Fries here are hit or miss, don’t really care for rosemary much, but the sweet potato fries are great. Cookies and cream milkshake was delicious but at ~$ 5.00 it is DINKY.

Smashburger is not a place for the frugal. These are not premade patties microwaved at your moment’s notice, and then given to you in Hollywood marriage minute… the food is prepared fresh, from fresh ingredients. Because of this, you can expect to pay a little bit more. Thanks to my Unilocaling Elite living, I have the opportunity to taste many Smashburger creations from burgers, to chicken sandwiches, to veggie burgers, to many sides. Because of this, I knew I would enjoy anything that I would get from this place. I actually go to this place under several sets of circumstances: 1. I just really feel like turning off the frugal meter and truly feel like treating myself to higher end«fast» food… bad for you food… whatever type of dining you call this! 2. I have a coupon 3. I have a Groupon 4. Unilocal has an Elite event 5. Unilocal has an UYE 6. Someone is really bugging me to go there just because they haven’t had it in a long time! Low and behold, this particular time, I was operating under number 3 of my list of circumstances. I went into the store with a $ 12 tab, in which I only paid $ 6 for… and was certain I would get plenty for those twelve dollars. Well, Smashburger operates on some non-frugal nonsensical type manner. Long story short, any place that only allows you to order a la carte, twelve dollars is essentially a decent combo meal! I had to get a decent burger(which will set you back $ 7 by itself), fried pickles($ 2 and some change) and a strawberry shake($ 4). That pretty much gobbled up my money. I purchased another burger and was paying the balance. All in all, these burgers and shakes are high quality. The meat has seasoning and you can tell it was not a pink slime concoction. The shakes are made from Haagan-Dazs ice cream, so you know you can taste the quality. I only wish they would make the shake a little thicker. The fried pickles are just okay, and I realized then why you don’t see this on the menu… not much love put into that item. When it is all said and done, going here is worth the experience. If one of my items on my list of circumstances comes to be your circumstances, then maybe you should give them a go for yourself. Just be prepared to pay for this decision! Maybe I could give them a 4th star if they had a value menu!?!

I came here on a Groupon and enjoyed the food. Had a Texas burger and a beer… Saint Arnolds Brown. Thoroughly enjoyed the juicy burger with fresh veggies. My daughter had a bacon cheeseburger and fries… SB forgot the bacon and by the time they fixed it, I had just finished my burger. I wasn’t too impressed with the parmesan/pesto shoestring fries. They tasted like the pesto/olive oil you dip your bread in at an Italian restaurant… just didn’t taste right for fries. I had one of the black bean burgers in the past when I was dieting and enjoyed that as well. I plan to come back, but minus 1 star for service.
