I am a man of voracious appetites. One of those appetites is sushi and when I want it I want it so bad I feel as though I NEED it. So since this location is so close to my home I have found myself here a few times; having said that they’ve yet to disappoint. Great service, great food, great speed of delivery. Made to order and I have no issues with that whatsoever. It’s always quiet when I come which is something I appreciate from time to time. Hustle and bustle is grand! But quiet has its place as well. If you enjoy quiet then this is definitely the place for you because everything else is on point.

I am quite confused as to all the great reviews?! Due to the raving reviews, I had high expectations only to be greatly disappointed. But then again, it is AYCE sushi so why did I have any expectations? The service was lethargic and the sushi was not fresh. The presentation was a joke. To clarify, I did not have a choice in the matter as it was Father’s Day and it was my FIL’s wishes. NEVERAGAIN!

Ok guys I rarely write reviews but I thought this place was a great find! $ 26AYCE made to order food?!? Shiet… I even got a free beer for Father’s Day! As a sushi chef I’m glad to see Asian chefs behind the sushi bar. Yeah plating wasn’t the prettiest plating but are y’all tipping them for their hard work? Don’t think so… We had several kids with us and they are for pretty cheap! They go by ages, my son is 3 so $ 3. Other kids was like $ 5 each. They loved the dumplings and ice cream! Shrimp tempura was freshly fried and crunchy. We even ordered a second round! Rolls were pretty yummy and freshly rolled! They sure wasn’t cheap with the soft shell crab! I’ve worked at bars where they used half! Japanese curry was good as well as their buttery fried rice! We basically liked everything except ika sensei(calamari salad) that was old and mushy. But I guess cuz no one orders it! sushi pizza was more of a fried rice ball. Interesting but I wouldn’t waste stomach room next time. Anyways I’m going back in about a month! For those who read this review, come visit my Japanese fusion food truck! Muiishi Makirritos! Mention this and free swaggy dog on me!

So friendly! We are not new to this type of cuisine. We brought our kids with us(12, 10, &6). The time we ate dinner was 6pm on a Tuesday. The gentleman at the front was very helpful and friendly and explained how they charge for kids. Kids 12 and under are priced per age, $ 1 per year of age. He brought us some peppered tuna that wasn’t yet on the menu to try. Everything was fresh. We enjoyed the tempura roll and the spider roll a lot! Over all it was worth the cost for«all you can eat» because our kids destroyed 4 shaggy dogs on top of the other items we tried. *the sashimi portions are bite size so if you’re looking for a good portion order more at a time. We had a nice family dinner, I recommend Sushi 9 Mason Rd.

I came to Sushi 9 on a weekend night with a group of friends. The place wasn’t crowded at all, which was a big plus. The interior of the restaurant was quite nice and welcoming. On this particular occasion, I decided to do the all you can eat. I tried out many of the items, and the overall quality of everything was pretty good. My only gripe with the orders is they give you pretty small portions for many items especially the sashimi. I ordered 20 pieces of salmon, and they came out in really small chunks. However, the fish was quite fresh and delicious. In terms of the rolls, my personal favorite was the spider roll. They gave heaping portions of soft shell crab. Overall, I had a pretty good experience at Sushi 9. There were a few mix ups with the orders, however, its pretty understandable when people order so many different items at once. I’m already looking forward to trying their lunch menu in the future !

The sushi quality for an all you can eat really surpassed my expectations! I was quite impressed and so happy! Not only was the rice warm but it wasn’t an overwhelming rice to fish ratio though the fish slices are smaller than usual. Not only that but it has a great variety as it’s not limited to just sushi but offers different rolls, appetizers, rice dishes and more! The staff was so friendly and I look forward to my next visit!

***to all the people complaining about how thin they slice the sashimi in AYCE, STOPCOMPLAINING. ITSALLYOUCANEAT, JUSTORDERMOREOFIT!*** This place surprised me. I have heard Sushi 9 from a lot of my friends, and the concept to me left me a little skeptical. AYCE sushi for $ 25 to me was not a foreign idea, however, I felt like for that low of a price the quality would be super low. I’m glad tonight it blew my expectations out of the water. 1st thing that surprised me was just how extensive the AYCE menu was(dinner). There were so many rolls to choose from that actually had some good stuffings inside. None of the appetizers, sashimi, sushi, rolls, teriyaki, dinner entrees felt like they were lacking in quantity of choices. My family definitely tried to order at least one thing from every section, and it was certainly not disappointing. 2nd thing that surprised me was the quality of the food. I seriously thought that you could because it was an ayce place for $ 25, the quality wouldn’t be that great. But i was wrong, and I am glad that I was wrong. The sashimi obviously wasn’t the freshest fish I have tasted, but it still leaned toward pretty good quality. Every single roll was stuffed full of fish, cucumber, avocado, and etc, they definitely did not skimp out. All the hot entrees were full of flavor(Definitely try the beef short ribs) and made with a lot of care. The presentation was also surprisingly very well put together. It didn’t look like someone threw it together all at once. It was tightly bound together and did not fall apart even when we accidentally dropped it on the table(oops). The one roll that was my family’s favorite was the spider roll. The fried crab inside was huge and the roll altogether was very well put together and tasted good. 3rd thing that surprised me was how fast the service was. We were promptly seated, and we did not have to wait long for rolls at all. It was a Friday night, and the rolls came out always really fast and presentable. I have no idea how they managed to keep shoveling the rolls out so well like that especially with only 4 sushi chefs, but it is definitely great. We never had to wait and we never felt like it was taking forever either. Overall, Sushi 9 should definitely be something you try out. It is not bad at all, and you should definitely go with a bunch of people. It is a lot more fun to eat that way and you can order more and try more without getting the 20% surcharge! Also, you should celebrate your birthday there! It’s pretty cool because they blast the birthday song through the whole restaurant, and it is just a fun environment to be in. Right now they have an all you can drink deal of coke, diet coke, sprite, and dr pepper if you buy AYCE so that’s another plus! It is great.

Great service. They were all really nice in taking our order and I didn’t think it took too long of wait for the food. So many options: sashimi, sushi, maki, grilled teriyaki, appetizers, noodles, tempura, and ice cream. Including tax and tip, the price is $ 32, a pretty good price to order whatever you want. There were so many different things to choose from, but some things I’d recommend are the shaggy dog roll, volcano roll, sakura roll, salmon teriyaki, squid and octopus sushi. The one thing I didn’t like was the eel on rice sushi because the sauce they put on it is way too salty. Overall, a good first experience of a sushi buffet. Definitely won’t be craving sushi for a while.

Finally tried this place out with some friends. I was pretty hyped at the idea of ordering a continuous supply of food. The big disappoint that got to me was that the all you can eat menu varied GREATLY from the normal menu which was a little saddening. The food was good but the wait times were a little lengthy and orders were missed. All in all a nice place to go for some Asian food recommend if you wanna try something new compared to normal buffets On a side note I did not try the non all you can eat menu yet

The variety of their menu should be able to please all appetites; sushi, sashimi, tempura, noodle soups, grilled meats, and ice cream were all prepared well and very tasty. To curb food waste, they charge a fee for extraneous food leftover. Service has definitely gotten better since my first time visiting. Staff are very fast and efficient in collecting orders and getting the dishes to the tables, are very knowledgeable in the details of each dish, and overall very friendly and helpful. On this recent visit, I have no complaints!

This place is absolutely great! I’d been craving sushi for the longest time and this was definitely the best restaurant to get rid of your sushi munchies for a great price. Contrary to what some reviews may say about the sushi quality, I must attest that the sushi of Sushi 9 is quite delicious! I’m not much of a «sushi connoisseur», but I could definitely tell that the sushi was made fresh when I ordered it. However, I would just stick to the sushi, not the rolls. I didn’t enjoy the rolls very much as some of them were overpowering with too much of one flavor(i.e. spicy mayo, etc). Shrimp and squid tempura were solid. I also ordered the beef teriyaki and the beef teriyaki don. I’d much rather go with just the beef teriyaki alone. The teriyaki don wasn’t that great. The rice was soggy and the eggs were overcooked. Last but not least, dessert! This place really knows how to do dessert right. Sushi 9 offers 4 flavors of ice cream for dessert: vanilla, green tea, red bean, and strawberry. I ordered all four, however I would only strongly suggest getting green tea and red bean. The vanilla and strawberry were sub-par and quite standard. All in all, Sushi 9 is the best place if you want to satisfy your sushi cravings. Most sushi restaurants are way too overpriced for a small roll or several pieces of sushi. Cheap Asian buffets typically have old sushi standing out in the air under a lamp. Sushi 9 encompasses the best of both worlds: high quality, fresh sushi for a cheap price. I’ll definitely be coming back.

If you love sushi and want to eat a massive amount of it, then this is the place for you! The sushi here is fresh, small cuts, but you can order as much as you desire. Just tell them the amount you would like and they will bring it out to you. It’s more than just sushi here. There are noodles, beef teriyaki, tempura shrimp, and much more. I enjoyed everything I have eaten there. I will keep coming back too because of this bang for your buck. It’s around $ 25 I believe. I will update the price the next time I step in again. The fried scallops are also great, even though it’s imitation meat. Go there and give it a try, I will say you will love it if you’re a sushi fan. For those who are first trying out sushi, you may have a whole entire menu to explore. Find what you like and stick to it or explore those food items you have never tried and want to taste. It’s great to get out of your comfort zone and try what’s out there. You never know what you might be missing out on!

My husband and i had dinner here tonight. He got the all you can eat menu and i got a la carte. From sit down to walk out it took 25 minutes. This is super important for parents on a tight schedule. The food is super fresh and delicious. Even the all you can eat is made fresh. The waite staff were super nice and friendly and informativev about our sushi roll questions. I would highly recommend this for a sushi night. We will definitely be back. :)

4 stars for the food and plus 1 star for the price!!! $ 25 per person for unlimited sashimi, sushi and others is a great price! Yet they are all good, definitely not buffet quality. We ordered a lot but here are the highlight: All of the sashimi(my favs are salmon and escolar) Ika sansai Seaweed salad Beef teriyaki Beef/seafood ramen Beef/seafood udon Fried rice Green tea ice-cream Tempura dishes and sushi rolls were alright. Great customer service! All of the waitresses were very nice and attentive. They do not give you ‘that’ face when you ordered more food. We also asked them to put our rolls on the boat and they agreed. P.S: don’t forget to ask for dumpling soy sauce. It is really good. I mixed it with the regular soy sauce. And Yes, I will definitely come back!!!

Do you like Hand Rolls? Sashimi? Anything remotely related to sushi? Do you like to eat things en masse? Well look no further! Sushi 9 is the place to go! For one flat rate you can eat till your gut bursts with the entire menu up for grabs! Service is really good and the wait staff is always swinging by to ask you if you want anything else. The sushi is pretty good too especially the Handrolls, or at least in my opinion. Apps and Desserts are also included as well so you can spice things up by cleansing your palate with them! They also offer ramen/udon but it’s not the best, they are a sushi joint after all. Overall this place is really good and is definitely worth going to! I should know, I make the one hour trek from Pearland to Katy sometimes just for this place! Overall Service 5⁄5 Food 3⁄5 Interior 4⁄5 Price 5⁄5

The service was good. The quality of the food was not good. I would not return even if it was free. The sushi from Krogers is better. You should order a salmon sashimi and a salmon sushi and then place the sashimi on top of the sushi so the fish will be thicker. Jiro(from Jiro dreams of sushi) would be so disappointed in everyone who was called a sushi chef. I am surprised it had a high rating on Unilocal

SUMMERLUNCHSPECIAL20% AYCE! So worth the money. For a measly ~$ 13 you get all the sushi your belly can handle. What to get: –Salmon, Tuna, Unagi sushi –Salmon Hand Roll(comes with lots of fish compared to the sushi) –Sexy Girl Roll –Squid Tempura –Edamame –Beef Udon Noodles(if you’re not picky) –Red Bean and Vanilla Ice Cream What not to get: –Useless rolls like a California Roll –Beef Teriyaki –Shrimp Tempura: all batter, no shrimp –Sushi Pizza: sucks so bad –Fried Scallops –Green Tea Ice Cream: literally no sugar Overall, I will be back here again for lunch simply because I can enjoy all the sushi I want at a great price. I don’t know if I would come here for dinner since it’s pretty expensive. But for lunch, it’s a steal! Also, their service is always very attentive and friendly.

Although this brand new sushi restaurant labels themselves as «All You Can Eat», don’t mistake it for a buffet. Instead of cooking up a mass amount of food and leaving it out for a long period of time, letting whoever touch/cough/sneeze on it in any way they want, food is actually made for you as you order it. You can pretty much order however much you want and have all of it brought out to you freshly prepared. But the«order however much you want» comes with the catch of a 15% extra charge if you can’t finish all your food. The inside of Sushi 9 is extremely spacious. Actually it’s so spacious that it could probably fit a few more tables. Service was prompt and courteous, the waiter frequently came by and asked if we needed to place more orders. Food came out about 5 minutes after we order it. As for the quality of food, the sushi was relatively fresh, and the tempuras were exceptionally hot and crispy. They also had rice bowls, udon, ramen, and fried rice, each with options of beef, chicken, seafood, or eel, etc. We especially enjoyed the fried rice, which was very flavorful but not too saucy. The beef teriyaki that I had was cooked a nice medium rare which made it quite delightful as well. But do note that the grilled beef teriyaki(or chicken, eel, seafood, etc.) you order by itself is the exact same beef teriyaki they use for the ramen, udon, and rice bowl. Overall, the food was portioned in small sizes(sashimi thinly sliced, ramen and fried rice came in small bowls, etc.) which was nice since it allowed us to try out a various amount of dishes without wasting any food. Sushi 9 is definitely worth a trip out to Katy so you can judge them for yourself.

Finally got to try of this AYCE sushi buffet. To be honest, I’m not even sure why I thought this place was going to be out of the ball park kind of place. It’s just your average low quality sushi place that gets the job done of filling you up. There is a 15% sub charge for excess food. Makes sense. They don’t want food to be wasted. To make this simple, I’m going to do some pros and cons. Pros: 1. Service is excellent! The wait staff are constantly checking up on you to ensure you’re getting what you need. In particular, the waitress I had was very persistent in having us order more food per the ones we’ve chosen. She was making sure we were getting enough. 2. My personal opinion, even though the rolls come in either 6 or 8 pieces, they are fairly small. I think that’s pretty good because most rolls are fat and you get full easily. 3. Teriyaki beef was delicious!!! The waitress warned us that it was a really small dish, so we ordered about 3 more, totaling up to 4 small dishes. It was so good. Beef was tender and the sauce was a great add on. 4. Sashimi was good and fresh, but TOO thin!!! Cons: 1. Wish the sashimi was thicker. 2. HIGHLY disappointed in the«fried scallops». My friend and I cut it in half and it was NOT a scallop!!! It was crab imitation meat! We have eaten enough to know what crab imitation to know that what we ordered was NOT fried scallops. Extremely disappointed. 3. Food is of low quality. 4. Shrimp tempura is way battered. You’re basically eating more batter than the actual shrimp. Sad. 5. The spring rolls that are fried which is BASICALLY fried rolls tasted like they came from a frozen package. I definitely know what REAL egg rolls taste like. I make them at home. 6. Edamame was flavorless. Not enough salt. Beans were way too hard. My friend and I had about 9 pieces of sushi left, but we were so full. Our waitress asked if we were done and if she could take our late. We panicked and said no, just so that we wouldn’t get charged the 15% sub charge. I would just like to say that I was the real mvp for eating the rest AND dessert. I think I’ve said enough. I’ve eaten at a lot of sushi places and would prefer quality over quantity. I’ve also eaten enough to know what is fresh and what isn’t. If you’re the kind of person that would prefer quantity over quality, then Sushi 9 is your spot. However I won’t be coming back. I got to experience, but I’d rather go back to Omakase style or a la carte. $ 15 for lunch and $ 25 for dinner. I would say that the lunch is reasonable but the dinner definitely NOT.

Sure, it is an all-you-can-eat(ACYE) sushi buffet and no one including me should have a high expectation for the food quality. Nonetheless, every food item, hot or cold, was disappointingly mediocre. For $ 15.99 during lunch or $ 25.99 during dinner, Sushi 9 gets the job of filling up your tummy done and nothing more. How Sushi 9 works is that you order the food from a menu and the waiting staff brings your orders fresh from the kitchen. While this method ensures the freshness, many restaurants using this order tend to have«slow» service to lower your intake. Fortunately, Sushi 9 is an exception as the waiting staff is constantly checking on you to make sure you get what you want and delivers relatively quickly. The service certainly is top notch especially for a buffet restaurant! Unfortunately, the food is not up par as the service. To name a few, shrimp tempura was so caked with batter that it tastes like shrimp-flavored fried batter. Salmon teriyaki is also pathetically thin and small. Mainly, while it was nice to order essentially unlimited nigiri sushi, the sushi is basically a large rice ball with a thin piece of fish on top. In the midst of underwhelming selection though, the Snow Mountain roll(Shrimp tempura and cucumber roll topped with imitation crab) is a pleasant surprise that may tempt me to return. However, unless you are aiming to fill up on sushi without considering the quality, Sushi 9 is not worth going out of the way. The buffet price tag is not exactly a steal either, so you may be better off spending the same amount of money to get higher quality a la carte sushi. — tl;dr version 1) Excellent service that ensures you get what you want 2) Disappointingly mediocre food quality 3) Not exactly worth the value if quality is a factor
