Looked. for this place in morning rush hour traffic. Couldn’t find it. Ended up at chevron. Need better signage on main highway

I stopped by this place for coffee a few times during my trip to Big Island and absolutely loved it. I’ve been to dozens of coffee houses(it’s sorta my thing) and this place ranks high on my list. Lanai seating, good assortment of kona beans to choose from, easy parking. Another reviewer and the café’s website say it’s difficult to find but I disagree. It’s right on the main highway! It’s in a building attached to a salon and a restaurant. For snacks they had some muffins(I can vouch for the pumpkin muffins) and some other pastries. Prices were as I expected for quality coffee. They were open early(I think 6am) for you early risers and closed around 4 or 5pm.

This is a very quaint café that knows its coffee. I came by during the Kona Coffee Festival in November 2009. The owner was very knowledgeable and friendly. Interestingly, he was a former Californian [originally from SF, but last lived in the OC]. We ordered some chips, salsa, and guacamole. It was made fresh and delicious. Of course we enjoyed the tremendous coffee there. The hours are short, but it is open during the essential coffee-drinking times for most people. I only regret having gone here so late in my trip, otherwise, i would have stopped by more often on my way around the island. The other drawback is that it is somewhat hard to find. Otherwise, I truly wish there was a place like this in California. I am considering ordering Kona coffee from them by mail. They roast their own coffee from beans they get from smaller farms in Kona.
