Aloha! We found this business based on a recommendation from a local friend! What a great stop! When you see sign Captain Cook Trading, don’t be confused! It look disorganized and it maybe is, but, than elegant charming little gentlemen appears and when you start to talk to him, you will just love his story. His mom is Hungarian, father German, moved here in 1944. He still speaks excellent German! Unfortunately not Hungarian anymore, so I taught him some words ;)(I’m not a Hungarian — just know basics). Emmerich(the owner) let us try some samples before we bought the Mac nuts. We got a lots of coffee and the best priced Macadamia nuts! This place looks a little bit disorganized, because he is cooperating with farmers and selling them some equipment. I had a good time discovering this place. Such a old lovely style! I will definitely be back to buy some coffee and nuts to bring to Northern Europe. I liked the coconut macadamia nuts most and the coffee! He is also selling honey too. We will get some next time:) Mahalo for reading this!

We’ve been coming here for about 10 years. Not a coffee shop, but as other reviewers have noted, the best kona coffee and mac nuts on the island. Forget about that $ 75/pound at kona Joe’s and come here for your take home stash instead. He also offers specialty Mac nuts, covered with chocolate and caramel as well. Emerich is THEMAN! so kind and knowledgeable. They do take checks but no credit and will ship too!

What a super great find!!! This guy has the cheapest Kona coffee prices on the island. He also sells honey and macadamia nuts flavored and unflavored. You might also find him roasting beans in the open and he gives a nice little talk about it. He is also just a delightful human being.

Every time we come to the Big Island, we have to stop by Emerich’s place. It’s the best price for 100% Kona coffee and Macadamia nuts. And Emerich is so kind and really knows his stuff. We usually buy 5 – 10 lbs of coffee and have it shipped back home. Since we haven’t been able take our annual trip this year, I think we’ll have him ship us some! One day, when we move to Hawaii, he will be the first stop we make to help us get our coffee plantation up and running. Anyway, I highly recommend stopping here before you head home! Oh, and I think he only takes cash. There is a bank about a half mile away, FYI.

Emmerich is very welcoming. He’s got the best coffee and macadamia nuts in town for the best prices. He also ships in the U.S. as well. He informed my husband and I how coffee is made and the different types of roasts. Highly recommend!
