Excellent burger. Had the local signature burger. Cooked to perfection. Had the poutine as a side and it was awesome! Highly recommend it.

This place was amazing! We had take out and I had the Signature Burger and the Poutine. Both were delicious I am stuffed! It was probably enough for two meals but I ate most of it for just lunch.

I stopped in at Local Burger in Downtown Keene for lunch recently. This fast casual restaurant serves up a variety of traditional and specialty burgers(using local sources), as well as wraps, fries, chili, and Captain Crunch chicken tenders. They offer Pepsi fountain drinks and beer on tap. I ordered a Turkey Burger($ 5.99) with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles & mayo and a Large Order of Sweet Potato Fries($ 4.89). The food is cooked to order and it may take awhile for the food to be ready. The cashier was also the same person bringing out food orders to dine-in customers. In my case, my order was all set in about 13 minutes. The Turkey Burger was quite good, which had a thick juicy & moist chargrilled ground turkey patty, topped with fresh lettuce, tomato slices, 2 dill pickle chips, raw onions, and mayonnaise as ordered on a soft thick bun. The sweet potato fries were fresh cut and fried, but were soggy and oily and not crispy on the outside as I would expect. Overall, I would return here again for the burgers, but I may skip the fries next time.

I went into this burger joint with mediocre expectations and those weren’t even met. I wanted a simple burger and fries. I was informed that they were out of the grass-fed burgers and could not order that. Ok, I’ll have a regular burger with bacon and blue cheese. They are out of bacon. Ok, just lettuce/pickles/tomato and a small order of fries… sorry, out of fries. Huh!!! A burger place half out of burgers and no fries to speak of!!! The burger I did get was nothing to write home about as it was a little dry and they don’t even toast the bun… Almost $ 12 for a burger with minimal fixings and a small drink. What a joke. Go to 5 Guys and get what you want and your money’s worth.

Very average… Even below average for what it should be. This kind of business model always seems to lead to bad service. You order at a counter and if you’re going to tip, must do so at that time. Someone runs your food out, but no one waits on you. Food shows up as it comes up, so if you order a burger and fries with a group of people, you get things randomly. In our group of three, on person was done eating before another even got their food. The food arrived mostly not as ordered. Asked for pink(because you can’t actually order by temperature) got not pink. asked for lettuce tomatoes and pickle, got none of the above. Ordered fries that never came — etc. That said, the seasonings, and recipes were all pretty tasty, which is why I still give 3 stars in spit of the long wait, random arrival of food and wrong orders. Also, sitting outside is a huge plus along with the table of lego’s and chalk board for the kids to play with. Staff appropriately and maybe do some training and this place could be a 5 star burger joint in short order!

This was just a quick stop to get a bite to eat on my road trip to VT. I was craving a burger and just wanted something quick and easy and not too expensive. My boyfriend and I both got the West Hampton burgers, they were juicy and delicious and we ordered the Gouda Mac and Cheese bites which were amazing as well. Seems like they have daily specials going on for a burger and a pitcher for $ 10, which I would totally take advantage of if I lived or went to school on Keene.

The burger I got was the Local Burger. It was pretty good, except one obvious mistake. NEVER put canned mushrooms on a burger, nasty! The service was incompetent! The server said its take 15min and that she would bring me the food, it was to go. Twice she came over and asked if the order she had in hand was mine I said no, I ordered two local burgers. Then 25min later my wife finally went up to ask about our food and it was just sitting there all ready to go. The server said she went around twice calling out my name but no one answered. Are you kidding me!?! It was quiet, only a few other people in the place and just minutes ago we told her twice we had the two burgers. It was frustrating just sitting inside 10 feet away from the server and our food just sitting there. Seems like a bunch of college babies running the place and they can’t even mop the floor and wipe the tables when it’s slow, I’d never go in there if it looked busy. There is no existing system to how they fill orders. The server can’t remember who ordered what and goes around asking everyone who’s food they are holding. Make a system! Number to order, either call it out or have them take and leave a number on their table for you to see! Easy! I would come here again because the food has always been pretty tasty. But the horrible service this time was so poorly excused that I had to rate low. Overall Food is pretty good! Service is pretty poor!

A tasty burger BUT horrible service. Especially when your pregnant and hungry! We ordered two local burgers. Yum! But the waitress/server(whatever they are) kept walking around with burgers asking everyone if it was theirs. Twice she asked us, both times not our food, both times I told her no we ordered two local burgers… After 26 mins I finally went up to ask and there was our food sitting in the bag. Apparently unknown to my husband and myself(sitting at one of the closest tables to the registers) she had called our name and walked around with our food asking people if it was theirs… Good thing some random person didn’t feel like having two free burgers. Never dine in! Call in and pick up. Oh and it was 1:30 on a Monday so NOT busy!!!

Let’s cut to the chase. It’s a burger joint with some creative options and some that might best be left for others to try. The atmosphere is burger joint. If you’ve ever been to a Five Guys you’ll notice some similarities. No complaints and no crazy expectations. They do have some convenient outdoor seating which rocks in New Hampshire summertime. They’ve taken the burger joint menu and definitely kicked it up with some very good options. The hamburger is all high quality grass fed beef. They offer a grilled portobello which gets a lovely char that really makes it a savory alternative, and one I’d happily have again with grilled peppers and crumbled bleu cheese. They also offer hot dogs. You might be surprised but Peanut Butter goes quite well with the grease and salt of a burger. Their offering comes with Jelly though, which I’m a little unsure of. Local seems to love mixing the sweet with the savory and to that end offers several deep fried options coated in Captain Crunch. The chicken tenders sounds good, the hotdog or burger, I’m not so sure. I got quite the chuckle out of their«Local» bottled water which must take a 200 – 250 mile truck ride from Forestport NY, are there springs in NH or VT? Now on to the things to be prepared for. Firstly, skip the sweet potato fries. Somehow they’ve figured out how to make things soggy and tough at the same time. The skin-on approach leaves you with a jerky-like outer coating on an otherwise soggy fry. Have the regular fries, or a different side. Secondly, be prepared for poor service. The cashier didn’t tell us they’d yell out a number on our receipt as they meander the dining room to find where you sat, so we were fumbling for our receipt after the very long wait. Yes that’s the other thing, you may be sitting and waiting for a while, so get the fountain drink so you can get a refill, or order that extra adult beverage.

Service was poor — the cashier acted as if she didn’t care that I was there. Her task of windexing a window and stacking cola cans was more important than explaining the menu or even greeting me. So I got a burger and fries. Burger was nothing special. A little dry. I’ve had better at Wendy’s. Fries were terrible. The worst fries I’ve ever had. They are fresh cut but they were soggy, dark brown, and not salted. Good idea for s restaurant but a little hipster and poorly executed food.

Come on, folks– It’s a burger joint, the burgers are good and made with local ingredients. What more are we after? Specials(we had Gouda Mac and cheese bites and chili cheese fries) were excellent.

Have to say best Grass fed beef burger I have had any where. Just happen to stop on a whim on a Monday night around 9:00 pm. Was nice to see a clean and hip place open . Had grass fed burger with the works, amazing! «captain crunch» tenders are you kidding me also amazing, hand cut fries awesome. Have to try more stuff next time. Really like the local theme, what they can get local, THEYGET!!! Nice beer tap selection and wine! Best part was friendly counter girl and the owner was cooking on the grill. Didn’t catch his or her name, but great people! Love to see the owners working it! I will be back soon !

I want to start by saying, yes, I went in on a holiday(July 4th) and new that it would be busy. They were busy and only had two employees in the shop(cook and a guy taking ordered and serving food). They were both clearly trying hard to provide good service add that good far with me. It took an hour to get my food, and I didn’t even get what I had ordered. At that point, I didn’t even want to correct them as I had spent the last hour watching these two men argue about various issues and didn’t want to add any fuel. I had also requested my food to go and it was brought out in a basket… I opted to just wrap my food up in the paper that came with it and head home. I’ll probably head back at some point, but it might be a while and definitely not around a holiday…

If your burger options are really original but they give everyone gas you will still be known as the place that makes everyone sick not the place with unique options. We had a turkey burger and an Easthampton both tasted good although the sweet potato fries were so so terrible. The ambiance is nice, it appears to be clean. This is basically just a slower more expensive 5 Guys. Beer selection is good but the beers on tap are pretty basic and lame. Pan handlers to the left of this place are always looking for change. All in all i would try again even with the embarrassingly bad gas. Not sure i would ever try the peanut butter and jelly burger.

This place is okay. I went here once – wasn’t wowed, but wasn’t turned off by the whole experience either. I probably won’t come back because Five Guys has Keene’s best burger and fries. I do like that the meat is locally-raised and such though. Going here just makes me miss Armadillo’s :(

I love Local Burger. The restaurant is clean and has a nice, open atmosphere. The artwork on the wall is simple, sometimes colorful and the music is generally something from the 80s. Local has daily specials with most of their food; my favorite one is the Greek burger, which is a lamb patty and tzatziki sauce. Other flavors include Sriracha with peanut butter, BBQ with onion rings, the specials are endless. They also have awesome sides, like fried Mac and cheese bites, salted caramel milk shakes, and Cap’n Crunch coated chicken. Prices are decent and the employees are super friendly. Great place to take friends or have a lunch meet up.

When we walked in most people were already eating, so why it took over 30 minutes for the food and drinks(beer and sangria) to come out is beyond me. The one waitress working was very attentive to her parents, who were sitting behind us, and brought them refills of several things, yet never acknowledged us. The gentlemen at counter finally brought our food and drinks after 35 minutes. It was also Very cold in the restaurant! Most of the dine-in tables left their coats on. Eventually, half way through our meal she came over to apologize. Sadly, too little too late. We ordered two burgers, both«pink», neither were medium or pink. They were done to well done. The special fries were really good as were the Mac N Cheese bites. The burgers were average. The bacon on the westhampton burger was excellent – rest of burger«meh».

Local is offering a good variety of burgers — Angus, grass-fed, turkey, portobello, veggie… plus hot dogs and chicken tenders, fries, onion rings. Drinks-wise they offer sodas, beers, wine and sangria. The ambience is casual, similar to Five Guys or Burger Fi — upscale fast food where you order at the counter and the food is delivered to your table. The counter service is super friendly and efficient, 5 stars for that. Also five stars for offering such a good selection of burgers and toppings — particularly a grass-fed beef option. I’ve knocked off a star for a few reasons: the burgers were slightly overcooked. I wanted medium and got well, my BF got medium instead of rare. The buns were cold(this is a not uncommon mistake, but it really takes away from the flavor and enjoyment). Though the grass fed burgers had a good flavor, they were too lean and therefore on the dry side. The fries were really tasty but a bit floppy. Everything was well seasoned. I noticed a couple of people complained about the price, but I can’t understand why. You do’t get quality like this a couple of bucks. Local charges $ 6-$ 8 which is totally good value based on the ingredients used. I would definitely eat here again when in Keene.

It’s a bit like a 5 Guys with a local focus. I love the grass-fed beef. Overall, it’s a decent burger and I will add a star for their responsible sourcing. The burgers are too lean and too small(or too big*) for me, and the buns are served cold – they really should be toasted. The customer service is excellent and very pleasant. *The 6-oz patty size is too small and two of them are too much. 8oz patties would be better, plus they’d be able to serve my burger medium rare as ordered.
