Clipper House Inn

Great location!!! So many places to walk to… Super cute, romantic, tranquil, relaxing… We will be back.
Btw, the Only reason 4 stars vs 5 is because I would have liked a hot tub to relax in. :)

This little B&B is a cute oasis in Kemah. Overall I would say this is a great place to stay for a few nights to check out the area or before a cruise. The price is appropriate for what you get. I would stay here again but there were a few little (very little) glitches that some might find deal breakers:
It is within walking distance to the boardwalk and a little noisy on weekend nights but not so bad as to disturb your sleep. There’s a wonderful little garden area with fountains and gazebos, the fountain helps cut some of the noise from the boardwalk.
We stayed in the Romance room and it’s a little over-​furnished making it seem smaller than it is but the décor is nice. The little kitchenette in the armoire is cute but not overly functional. The bathroom has a huge jet shower that was really nice.
The beds are comfortable but I definitely missed my down pillows. There’s a lot of electronics that don’t turn off and a huge bright red lit up exit sign over the door, so if you’re a sensitive-​to-​light sleeper like we are plan on covering up with towels or eye masks.
Barbara was very accommodating and sweet. She made it very easy to do a late check in. She left us a bottle of wine with a happy anniversary custom label with our names on it. Very nice touch! She clearly loves her little B&B.
Breakfast is fresh fruit and a home-​made breakfast bread like blueberry loaf or similar. Not enough food for us but held us over until we could get a real breakfast.
Wifi is present but we weren’t ever able to actually log on. I can’t fault them for this because I never asked for help troubleshooting. The book says it works best in the garden though so I wouldn’t stay here if you need to work while on vacation.
