Today I had a bacon BBQ burger. The meat was cooked perfect medium, bacon was lightly crispy and the bun was toasted properly. The only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the fries were heavily salted. Other then that, the tap beer was really cold and refreshing.

First time trying their food was for happy hour. I was surprised how good it was. They have great happy hour specials for apps and drinks. We shared 3 apps– a Margharita flatbread, pretzels, and Irish nachos all at $ 4 each for happy hour. Service was top notch. I will be back during happy hour only as Thursday and late night gets too wild.

First time here. It was nice and the staff was friendly. The fish tacos were DElicious! I would definitely go back for the tacos. My husband and I went on a Saturday, so it was pretty crowded, but we still enjoyed our drinks and food. If your looking for a chill spot to Have drinks and appetizers, this is your spot.

The last time I reviewed was in July. We had someone come in and take us out again, so we decided to give Blackthorn another shot. We figured that all the renovations were long over and they should have their heads back on straight. First, we were seated with no menus — it was so odd! We sat there and the hostess(? the person who sat us — I’m guessing the hostess, I don’t know) passed us several times very quickly with the«please don’t bother me» face. She didn’t notice we were sitting there staring at each other with nothing in our hands and no drinks — so it’s not like they were already taken from us! Finally the waitress came over and noticed right away so she went and got them. She was good. On top of everything and friendly. I don’t think she’s part of the problem. Anyway, we ordered our food and then waited. We waited a really, really, really long time. We did not order any appetizers, only lunch items. Two burgers, a Shepard’s pie, two orders of something that was kind of like a Reuben but with different meats — I can’t remember what it was — and 1 grilled chicken Caesar salad. It’s my fault there were two burgers. I talked my co-worker into it. The Celtic burger has always been a favorite. The Reuben-like things were disappointing. They were tiny heaps of meat on giant slices of bread. We used to order the real Reuben a lot and there was a much bigger portion. Maybe this meat was more expensive, I don’t know. I hear the shepherd’s pie was fine and the salad must have been alright because there wasn’t a piece left. The burgers though. oi, the burgers. Both of our buns were burnt, and hidden with either sauce or by strategically placing it on the plate. My patty was fine, which it better have been because I like it rare. However, the Irish bacon was hard and blackened — that part hidden under the bun, of course. I looked over at my co-worker’s plate and sure enough, he had left about a quarter of his burger uneaten. Not only was it the burned bun part, but it was also the patty. Burnt. I felt horrible for recommending it and betrayed. We spent about an hour and forty-five minutes there. for lunch!!! Lunch! UUUGGGGHH Blackthorn. Not only did you ditch a nice interior to make it so loud it’s hard to hear who you’re talking to and increase your wait time exponentially, but you killed the one reason my mouth waters to go back.

Met some family here for dinner as we drove through New Jersey. All of us enjoyed our meals. I had a GREAT black bean burger… one of the best I’ve ever had. My husband and daughter both ready enjoyed the chicken pot pie. The steak was done to order, corned beef and cabbage was generous and enjoyed. The staff was very nice, attentive when we needed something without hovering. If only we lived closer… this could be our new favorite place to eat!

I have only been here once but it was a great atmosphere! The drinks were great… tasty & strong. I also had loaded fries which were so yummy. The portion size was also huge so go with a big appetite. I will be going back again.

The food isn’t great and the everything is sort of expensive, HOWEVER… It’s fun and there’s outdoor seating. The inside bar is big and the bartenders are very nice. If you go in the summer, the inside is as hot as the outside. The AC is inadequate for the space. Either wear a tank top or be prepared to sweat.

From the past few years i always stopping by here for drinks, i always sitting at bar and enjoy the company, the bartenders are very friendly. For the first time i had a chance to stop by to try the food, i had fish tacos and it was amazing, and i also got what they called Angus burger. I don’t think it was Angus and the burger has no taste at all. My wife had quesadillas burger and it was alright. For the quality of food i would say its a little pricey. Service was good, even she has 4 tables at the same time she never forgot to check and to make sure everything is okay I definitely coming back for drinks and please take this as a constructive criticism.

Haven’t been here in a long time and will not be back. Staff were very nice but orders were mixed up, not correct and billed for items not served. Not a busy night so not sure what was going on. Food was so so — not anything even worth mentioning.

Good representation of a pub with plenty of large screen TVs for those of us that don’t want to talk to the rest of the table. I had my first hard root beer. They have 2 brands; Not Your Father’s, and Coney Island. I enjoyed it while it was cold but the last few sips were warm and not as tasty. I suggest asking for a glass with ice unless you are going to be chugging it. My friend had a German Beer and then a domestic one and said they were both good. We started with an order of chicken wings with Guinness BBQ sauce. The wings were fairly meaty and the sauce was very good although I wasn’t able to discern any beer taste. By the way, make sure to check in on Unilocal to get the 50% off the appetizer with the purchase of 2 entrees. And, be diligent about it in the event your server, like ours, was unfamiliar with it. The main courses were large. My friend had the Bangers and Mash and said he very much enjoyed the dish. I had a Shepherd’s Pie probably served a little too hot. It was kind of bland but as another reviewer has pointed out, anything can be fixed by adding some seasonings or spices on your own which I did. We definitely made a mistake city inside since it was a beautiful night and their outdoor patio looked very inviting. I will do so next time and there will be a next time. Our server was attentive and efficient.

REALDISSAPOINTMENT. Drove 45 mins to be here. Ended up at Spanish Tavern which was awesome. We decided to go for live music and food. Got there for 6pm as the show started and were told there were no seats to see the music, the people always stay till the end. Opted to go inside, waited 10 min for a server to come to us and there were 3 tables out of 25 or 30 set. Waiter then takes another 10 min to get drinks, by that time we walked out.

The food was OK in terms of flavor and seasoning — nothing a lil salt, pepper and spicy brown mustard couldn’t fix. I ordered the corned beef and cabbage and bf ordered the bangers and mash. Our appetizer was deLISH– THERE Blarney Corned Beef rolls, but the dijon mustard should come with a warning sign! The horseradish went straight to both of our sinuses and the conversation literally had to pause. The portions of the food were very generous. Neither of us could finish our meal. The drinks were very generous as well, especially my lemon martini — Another menu item that needed a warning label in a good way, lol! We had the grand Marnier crème Brule for dessert– outta this world! The service was a lil slow, but the friendliness of the server, Chenlan, more than made up for the pacing of the food delivery. We definitely plan on returning to explore more of the menu.

This place is good in the nicer weather because they have a great outdoor area, however in the winter they do have an outdoor side bar with heaters and a shot wheel that they open occasionally. They have a good selection of craft beers. I tried their bleu cheese bacon wings– sooo good. Chunks of bleu cheese and bacon! Next time I’d get them a little hotter, but def worth trying! Very nice staff and I can’t wait to go back in the warmer weather.

She had a tough day at work and I was being nice! Drinks: I ordered Hard-Cider Sangria which had the following: apple juice, fresh brandy, Irish cider. She ordered Jack Frost Martini which had the following: Stoli Vanilla Vodka, Peppermint Schnapps, Baileys Irish Cream, Blue Curaçao. This took at least 15 minutes to get to us. No good. When the drinks arrived we tried each other’s drink. I am not a martini lover but I was once a bartender. This Jack Frost Martini Cocktail was not agreeing with either of our palettes! Perhaps, it should have been shaken longer. Perhaps, the ratio of the ingredients were off. Perhaps if the glass was frosted, it would have been better. Perhaps we should have ordered beer since we were in an Irish Pub. Perhaps, there shouldn’t be a cocktail menu at all. Nevertheless, a cocktail martini is supposed to be smooth and relaxing. Feeling the burn of alcohol as you sip isn’t enjoyable. My drink as you can see was light– not really impressed or else I would have ordered another one. Food: I asked the bartender for recommendations on something small. Wings was the response. So I ordered paramasen wings. When they came out like 20 minutes later, my face showed nothing but disapproval. Super tiny wings, super dry, and tasteless. Why me? My gf ordered french onion soup, she claimed it was the best she had. I have tried french onion soup before so when I took two or three scoops, I thought it was edible. Nothing extreme like the flavors were lingering on my lips, sip after sip. So why two stars? Bad recommendations on the drinks and food. No follow up on food or drinks. But worst of all, the bartender took my friend’s cash money as a tip when all she wanted is to break the bill. I was planning to come back just for the beers on tap and the cool atmosphere(tons of tvs) but I think I changed my mind.

So I’ve been here a couple times already. One was during the World Cup. They had a huge projector screen and it was super crowded. The other time I went was on a Friday night. The parking lot was so packed and you can hear loud clubby music that was coming from the outside part. I didnt like the fact that there was a cover! Who does that nowadays. They had a live band inside and a DJ outside playing totally different music which was great. The back was very open and they have heaters too. My favorite part though was definitely THESHOTWHEEL! For $ 3 you get a shot ranging from mixed shots to café patron. Sometimes if you really don’t like what you landed on, the bartender will spin it again. As for food, I got a chicken pot pie and asked for them to put mashed potatoes on top. It was DELICIOUS. I like this place a lot and will be coming more for sure, except maybe when they have cover…

The burger hit the spot. Juicy and cooked just the way we wanted. Our spinach dip app was really quite bad though. Chips were stale and the dip was a room temp mixture of overly creamy spinach with melted/congealed cheddar cheese on top. Luckily we had 50% off appetizer coupon for checking in on Unilocal. On a completely random note, their Coke was extra refreshing. I have no idea why.

A reliable Irish pub type place. Blackthorn is close to where I work, so I’ve been here plenty of times for lunch. The best thing on the menu is probably the burger: thick, juicy and flavorful, cooked as you like, with plenty of choices for toppings. For healthier options, the turkey BLT is also good, although the avocado that comes with it is sometimes a bit past its expiration date. Once you start straying from standard pub fare, you takes your chances. I tried the salmon burger once, expecting a patty of chopped salmon mixed with(hopefully) some herbs, etc. Instead what I got was closer to the salmon version of a subpar crab cake: a patty that was more breading than salmon, with a distinct fishy taste. Serving that mostly-bread ‘burger’ on a roll was, shall we say, redundant. Needless to say, I have not ordered this again. Beer selection is decent, and they know how to pour a good Guinness. Lots of seating inside, so it’s good for large groups, and there’s a big patio out back for when the weather’s nice.
