Brought our two young kids here for an early, no-frills dinner last night and enjoyed a fantastic meal. As the name indicates, lobster is the specialty and they do not disappoint. We ordered two 1 ¼ lb lobsters(each), while the kids got a grilled hot dog and a grilled cheese, topped off by slices of(homemade) blueberry and apple pie a la mode — all of which were delicious and reasonably priced($ 25 for 2 cooked lobsters!!!). We travel to Maine every year, love lobster, and hubby & I agree, this was the most delicious we’ve ever had. As other reviewers have noted, meals come with two dill pickle slices and a small bag of Lays potato chips(whether a kid’s meal or adult) — but people don’t come here for fancy atmosphere; they come for the fantastic food, friendly service and relaxed atmosphere.(We heard multiple people raving about the steamers and chowder — have to try that next time!) Every server had a smile on their face and a friendly word for our kids. We sat inside, at what are essentially picnic tables, in a super-clean albeit fairly tiny dining room where you felt like you were on the ocean(you’re really overlooking a marsh, but it’s lovely). Great wine and beer list(I had a glass of a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc, hubby had a local beer). Free parking(a rarity in the area). No credit cards accepted, but they have an ATM outside. Casual atmosphere, amazing food, great staff — this is now on our list of favorites.

This was one of our favorite spots that we stopped in Kennebunkport. The lobster was so good that I didn’t even use butter for most of my meal. The best option is the No. 2 meal. We’ll be back for more when we visit again. Also don’t forget to get a piece of pie before you leave.

Twin lobsters were very good and worth the money. Waitress was very friendly and efficient. Tables are too small for two when both order the lobster because they serve them on large round trays. And, the owner must have a loose screw somewhere. They serve a 1 oz. bag of Lay’s potato chips, 2 small pickle chips and a sub par cold roll with the meal. Absolutely ridiculous and unheard of. How can anyone be that cheap?! I would like the owner to respond to my review.

Did not eat here but it smelled very good. Quaint look though. The reason I left a good review is they gave exact directions to another restaurant that had fried foods, because the didn’t cook any there!

It’s not on the water but you will never notice. The inside make you feel like you are right on the water. They have a good beer and wine list. Their steamers and lobster were great. Service was just as good. I can’t wait till next season to go back.

There wasn’t much seafood option on the menu, but the lobsters were great! Reasonably priced. We each ordered 2 of 1 ¼lb lobsters and because it was the end of the season, they knocked off $ 3 each order. The clam chowder was very flavorful and tasty. We loved the warm blueberry pie with side ice cream. Our waitress was very attentive as well. Love the place. Love the area. Would definitely go back.

No-frills lobster is what I was looking for and no-frills lobster is what I got! Simple, reasonably priced and delicious. The menu is pretty much lobster and chowder and that’s it. Not a soul in the place was eating anything but lobster and I totally understand why! Anyhow, really enjoyed eating here and the casual, friendly environment. Would definitely recommend it if you’re staying in the area and don’t want to sit at a fancy place and pay $ 40 for one lobster.

Classic Maine lobster restaurant. Great deserts. And we keep going back every year when we visit Kennebunkport.

lobster, lobster, lobster. this place know how to do lobster. their lobster is the sweetest I have ever had. if your within ½ hr of this place I would highly recommend it. the twin lobster is just perfect. it is a little odd that they serve a bag of chips with it, but whatever, it works their is a lot of chatter about their blueberry pie. after going to this place many times over the years, I finally had it. I wasn’t impressed. it was ok. but so what, the lobster is killer. one downside is cash only so make sure you bring plenty.

What a great place to get your lobster at a great price. Their beer selection, the food, and the servers were awesome. It is all indoors — you sit on picnic like tables and enjoy a great meal. Oh!!! CASHONLY.

Everyone told us we had to go here so we did. Good lobster roll but small and expensive. No frills type place but you don’t really save much because of it. And everything is extra-like coleslaw and potatoes. I hear Port Lobster Co is far better both price and quantity, so we’ll hit that tomorrow. Nunan’s was less expensive that Barnacle Billy’s in Ogunquin at comparable taste. But still pricey considering they are getting the lobster for $ 4 per lb. they really take advantage of the tourist season up here in Maine-probably won’t come back here because of it. Seems the locals buy their lobster wholesale and cook it themselves. Unfortunately staying in a hotel we don’t have that option.

Best lobstah in town. I am from MA and this place is not only cool inside, local(run by fisherman’s wives), but it small menu is no frills the way lobstah should be. Had chowder, lobster, and pie. Small menu and really does not pander to tourists which is great.

Nunans has limited hours so the first time we missed it but we were able to find time to come back between 5 – 830 but we had already eaten and came strictly for the blueberry dessert we had read all about — but being tourists and lobster fans we got the only two homemade desserts and a lobster roll. The toasted bun was nice and the lobster was good — we had light mayo and some poured butter! I rate it 3rd in all of Maine. Do without the apple pie but when you come get a couple blueberry ala modes and a great lobster roll. Service was okay and the place was really clean! Oh and free parking!

We enjoyed Nunan’s our first night in Kennebunkport. After a long travel day from NYC, we were ready to get some grub. First off Nunan’s is a no frills restaurant. They serve one thing, lobster. The wait staff was very nice but in no rush. The chowder was great with the right amount of potato and clam. The lobster came out piping hot and was delicious! The blueberry pie was amazing! Price is moderate but we will definitely return.

What a fun little establishment. The inside is decked out in super high lacquered woods and old-timey fishing décor. The menu is small and clearly the special here is lobster. I thought prices were very reasonable. Service was excellent, our waitress was fantastic. We ordered 2 lobsters, clam chowder, a salad, and a hot dog(on a whim). Lobster was great. Clam chowder very respectable and apparently gluten-free for those of you that continue to fake a gluten allergy. The hot dog was standard. The thing that kept me from giving it 5 stars was the lack the of something extra like a special dipping sauce, or maybe really good fries or homemade ships(instead of the Lays chips). Regardless, definitely worth stopping in!

Nunan’s was recommended to us several times during our stay in Kennebunkport, so we figured we owed it a try. Perhaps my expectations were too high, but I wasn’t blown away. The lobster is good, but no better than other lobster I’ve had on this trip or any other. As other Unilocalers have noted, the sides are downright disappointing. A bag of chips and literally two dill pickle slices are all you get. This pales in comparison to the sides included elsewhere. The clam chowder was tasty, but sorely lacking clam. It was mostly potato. I will say that the service was great, and the kitschy, classic shack atmosphere is kind of fun. It was an okay experience overall, but I’d try someplace else next time around.
