This is a typical old school Tavern with good drinks, friendly folks, and good food.

Busy and small but so worth it. Place is crammed with New England sports and political memorabilia, so fun to take in! Food was great, server was attentive and friendly. Will return on our next drive up to Kennebunkport!

My wife and I came in for lunch during our mini-moon weekend. First off, they were open on new years day for lunch which is a plus. Views are great and the cozy feel was welcoming even with a pretty much locals-only clientele that day. As I’ve said before, I value service almost higher than the food and the staff here was great. Its a good sign when two different servers come over to make sure you’re OK. Now to the food. We’re from Rhode Island and we are constantly on the hunt for the next best lobster roll. This place now holds the title out of 20+ places we’ve been to in New England. Fresh steamed lobster meat with the perfect blend of mayo, lemon juice and herbs. Bun was beautifully buttered and toasted. Crunch was achieved with some romaine, onion and celery. We’ll be back again next time we’re in Kennebunkport.

I love this place. Plain and simple. The view, atmosphere(all locals post-summer), the FOOD(amazing) and the drinks. I cannot get enough of The Ramp. I hesitate to even write this review b/c I want it to be my little secret.

Always my first choice for casual dining with friends and family. Fabulous food, fun atmosphere, great little«patio» on the water to have a cocktail and watch the fishing boats come and go. The food is wonderful and you can order from both the pub menu and the menu from Pier 77, a slightly more formal restaurant located upstairs in the same building. There is something for everyone and every budget,

This place… this place just totally rules. I am an unashamed fan of bars with tons of crap all over the walls and the Ramp leaves no inch uncovered with tons of sports and regional memorabilia everywhere. Especially loved the collection of vintage Patriots helmets hung above the bar. Really nice staff and good local beers on tap. Of course none of that means a thing if the food isn’t good. Well, I am glad to say the clams I had were a home run. The huge chunk of crusty bread smothered in herbed butter was the most excellent way to soak up every last bit. We were there at the start of the off season so the place was almost empty save for some locals who were super friendly and talked our ears off. There was a big low tide that night thanks to an oncoming tropical storm coming toward the coast so it was also a rare and cool thing to look out over an almost water-less harbor.

Very nice. Cozy bar with a lot of interesting items to look at and a nice outdoor patio with Adirondack Chairs to look at the water while you wait. We went for lunch with friends on a busy Saturday in September and the friendly staff moved the crowd along capably. Excellent mussels, great lobster rolls, a special heirloom tomato salad were very tasty. So we’re the chicken to toquitoes. The chopped salad was a bit small and somewhat barren for that kind of dish, but it was good. Nice find away from the beaten path and center of Kennebunkport in Cape Porpoise.

We loved sitting outside in the small Garden overlooking the water. One could order at the bar and the runner for us the food outside. The bar tender was friendly. Interesting memorabilia on walls.

The ramp is a cozy cute restaurant. Our server was excellent — friendly and attentive. The fried clam dinner was outstanding. The chowder on the other hand was unique but not in a good way — it’s a brownish almost gravy like base and there were no big pieces of clam in it and an unusual after taste. I will definitely go back but skip the chowder

My husband and I stumbled on this gem on our way around the town on bikes. It was a hot, sunny day, so we wanted a cold bev with our lunch, and if possible, a view. The Ramp provides all 3 with excellent food(had the special Cobb sale with salmon, hub had the fish & chips — both were awesome), friendly service, good music and tons of charm. Bloody Mary’s were excellent and good(cold!) beer selection. Highly recommend.

We came on a Tuesday afternoon and waited an hour to be seated only to find out that the host/waiter had forgotten about us. He then basically tried to seat us in the waiting area. He was nice enough to comp us a round of drinks, for three. We were eventually seated and the table and space were very pleasant. After ordering chowder and entrees we waited another 30 minutes for food to arrive. Surprise! Entrees, no chowder. Not only had our waiter forgotten to seat us, he had forgotten to put in for our chowder. He assured us he would take it off our bill. He didn’t. My 18 $ seafood stew tasted very good, but was a little light on the protein. The stew had a handful of mussels, a couple shrimp, two or three morsels of fish, and two clams, one of which was empty… All in all it was a disappointing experience but it had cool atmosphere, a good beer list, and everyone else seemed to be enjoying themselves and their meals. I’d maybe try it again.

Nice smiles but shame about service! I was very disappointed with my first visit at the Ramp! I ordered a Captain Ins Ginger Beer and was served a Ginger Beer with a shot of Captain(Morgan) in it… After I specifically mentioned I wanted an Non– Alcoholic drink. The Lobster Roll was decent as was the Fish & Chips however I have never been served so few fries in the USA… About half what you get at McDonald’s when you order the Kid Menu. There was no forks nor knives nor napkins on the table after our meals have been on the table for 5 minutes so we had to get them at the bar since no waiters/waitresses were paying attention. Our nice and compassionate table neighbours kindly offered us to use theirs. I’m sorry Ramp Manager, employees are nice and smily but they need to focus a little more on patrons. I was told the place was fun and it was until service started… Yves

Delicious food and drinks with an amazing view. Simple as that. Yes, there will be a wait during high season, but if you are local, do yourself a favor and go in May. You still get that same delicious food, same attentive service, and same gorgeous sunset over the water. Same food as Pier 77 Restaurant upstairs, but with a divey, political hoarder basement feel. Definitely try the kale caesar salad, lobster roll, and the chowder my father affectionately calls«the best clam chowder I’ve ever had!».

Go here. Service 4.5÷5 Waitstaff is top notch. Bar staff just a tad slow(three asks for water… And trust me, we spent plenty on not-waters) Food 5⁄5 Nothing complicated, but but everything was pretty much perfect. Kale & romaine salad, check. Classic clams: broth demanded more bread(which we got, NP). Lobster roll was simply perfect. Halibut special with lobster cream sauce, mashed potatoes and haricot vert: put my wife in a very happy coma. But not before she helped me devour an amazing blueberry crumble with vanilla ice cream that… Damn was it good. Shares a kitchen with a much fancier restaurant upstairs. But whatevs. It was the bomb downstairs. Location 5.5÷5 Seriously, if you wanted to can New England, you’d start here: jaw-dropping Boston and political memorabilia lines the walls, the ceiling, the bar, the bathroom. It’s amazing. Feet from the Bush Compound, it also celebrates Roosevelt, Nixon, Kennedy, Bush x 2 and Obama in equal measure. And out the window is the most picturesque lobster boat tableau you can fathom. At sunset. I cried.

Menu is a culmination of various local specialties and whatever appears to be on the chefs mind, but in a good way. The place has all of about 8 tabletops and a bar that seats 8, although my whole wife and I were there with and the group between us and the next couple managed to sit 5 bringing the total to 9, cozy not too crowded if they weren’t nice people I would have been crowded though :) The food was excellent had Petes chowder and steamers for an appetizer split a spinach salad, then my wife got probably the BEST fried clams either of us have had(I know people will think that u haven’t had good fried clams before, but I grew up in Mass and have eaten at all the ‘best’ places for fried clams) and when I say the best I mean it. I had the seafood stew, very good, but not great, like the clams. Small selection of beer on tap given the size of the place I don’t think that could have fit more than the 4 taps anyway, but they had a good selection of bottled beers and what appeared to be a respectable wine list. End of the day, next time in the area, I know where I’m going for dinner, you should too.

My newest«local» fave; I’m so excited when I’m there that I don’t even check in. The Ramp has THE best lobster roll in Maine, I kid you not. I’m spoiled by the off season and already dreading the post-Memorial Day crowds. I may even(egads!) have to take a hiatus. If you’re a sports or memorabilia fan, you don’t want to miss the extensive collection that IS The Ramp.

We visited in September and had a short(very short) wait for a table. Dined on the Jonah crab cakes which were good but very different from the meaty Maryland crab cakes I was used to. My partner had the Lamb Pappardelle and I had the Mixed Seafood Grill. He enjoyed his and I could have eaten mine every night for the rest of my life and been a happy girl. Service was very good even though it was a tremendously busy night. Décor/atmosphere is a bit fun and we enjoyed reading all the things on the walls and ceiling.

The Ramp is a mandatory must stop if you’re in the area. It’s tiny, congested and busy but the ancient sports paraphernalia plastered throughout will distract you while you wait for refreshing craft beers and the most delightful beer battered fried fish in the history of life. This is a one of a kind pier restaurant with an awesome location and I make it a point to drop in at least once when I’m in town.
