Mandarin Cafe

This restaurant was recommended by the hotel we are staying at. Terrible. Had General Tso Chicken and a Spring Roll. It came with an egg roll and Chicken wing as well. The Wing is the only thing that had any real taste. The Egg Roll and the Spring Roll was bland and very greasy. The General Tso Chicken tasted NOTHING like any I have ever had. I would not recommend this restaurant to an enemy. Was a waste of money. Threw most of it away and went over to Dairy Queen and got something better to eat. Sad statement but true.

I have been getting delivery here for 4 year. This last Friday was
the final time I will be ordering from this establishment. I made a carryout order of boneless spare ribs and when i got the food home, it tasted burnt, but it looked fine. I call the restaurant and told them the situation. I was told I could come back to get my refund. When I arrived, I spoke with someone different. I explained my story to her and the employee told me I ate half of the meat!!! If anything, we ate 2 pieces. Why would I eat even a fourth of that burnt meat. I told her that it wasn’t true and she said I pretty much lied to her. With this reason, I will not be going back. It is not good practice or business ethics to call your customers liars, especially if they were telling the truth.

I have know the owners for ages. This place is definitely one of the best around! Hand down the best egg rolls. We always get the wings and rice. We continue to go here and are never disappointed.

My favorite place to order delivery from! I’ve never had anything from Mandarin Café that wasn’t good, and I adore their Phở.

I didn’t know anyone can make chicken taste so nasty. You could tell wasn’t fresh. And bad customer service stay away!!!

Great!!! From soup to entrees! I order delivery about once a month and have tried a great portion of the menu for a few years now. Always a wonderful experience across the board.

We eat here or order out from here often, the food is always good. Be sure you have a menu when ordering by phone. If you look the restaurant up on line there is a site that you must order through them on, I prefer to order directly through the restaurant. The people there are very nice and make sure your order is always correct.

I love coming here over many of the other Chinese restaurants in Kennesaw. Their phở is okay. Not great but definitely not bad. I LOVE their mongolian chicken and their hunan chicken (although for some reason they are one of the only places where hunan is not a combination offer for lunch or dinner). Do not get the sesame chicken. It’s usually overbreaded and the sauce is just okay. I’ve never tried what is on the Vietnamese list but it always looks tasty. I

Having just come back from NYC where Chinese food rules, I was unimpressed with what we ate at Mandarin Café. To be fair, my friends like this place, but me… it can’t compare to Buford Highway and other more authentic local restaurants.
The hot and sour soup was watery. Mongolian beef was tough and sinewy with a burnt overtone. Fried rice was merely white rice doused in soy sauce. On a positive note, my husband enjoyed his wonton soup and the chicken with broccoli (crisp! not overcooked!) was better than the beef.
I agree with Unilocalers. The staff is nice. But when dining out, you come for the food, not the personnel. Sorry…

I’ve been ordering from Mandarin Express for the past three years, and I’ll miss it when I move to New Mexico next month. The lady who takes orders over the phone is SO NICE, and their food is consistent.

I rarely eat Chinese. This is why. Every menu is the same and so is the taste in food. My sesame chicken had sesame on it, but it was hot n spicy/​sweet n spicy or something along those lines. The rest was rice and vegetables my family ordered. That tasted fine. It’s hard to mess up rice and veggies. Delivery was 45 – 60 minutes.

We order from here regularly. Always look forward to Chinese take out with Mandarin Café! Make sure to try the crab rangoons my fav!

Whomever cooked our food was not watching other tickets, for orders, or paying more attention to a computer screen… they cooked this like they would be the ones sitting down to eat it! Not my first time to eat at this location, and it is definitely not the first time we have ordered home delivery (which by the way is faster than washing your hands and laying out the proper utensils!). Without exception, the wings tonight, were the best buffalo spiced hot wings I have ever eaten in my life :-)
Who ever started the tradition of serving miniature chicken pieces just because they were to be «hot wings» definitely got it wrong. These were healthy sized, and perfect mixture of hot, flavor… mmmm, mmmm, mmmmmm. And I get serious about my wings too!!!
The rest was perfect, mongolian beef, egg drop soup. My Lady’s order of house lo’mein just right, with the pink sauce she loves so much! Not duck sauce, it is some kind of sauce that is pink, they get it right, all that counts. To those that left bad reviews, so sorry if it happened, everyone has an off day, I just do not understand with this group because they have never dropped the ball with us yet, and that has been longer than the current people that are in this restaurant.

The place is nice, typical Chinese. Everything I’ve tried has been good. Just that the phở isn’t phở. It’s tasty soup. I ate the whole bowl. Just not phở is all. And even though I’m a chop stick master they only have the short to go ones.

I ordered through grub hub and they delivered right here on time. Which was awesome I got the chicken fried rice and beef and broccoli. Both were pretty bland, disappointingly. I’m back on my search to find good Chinese that will deliver.

This is possibly the worst Chinese delivery we have ever had. My sons sesame chicken was nothing but bread. Mongolian beef was absolutely horrible. All onions. Even the soups were terrible.
Save yourself the waste of money!

Outstanding fast service must try rice wrap rolls the only thing I found was that the sauce that they use for the rice wrap was a bit too sweet for me but other than that it’s great

Terrible. Should have read the reviews on the phở. It smelled funny and not only was it tasteless — it left a bad taste in your mouth. I think we were given 3 servings of noodles and 10 pieces of meat that were overcooked.
We orderd the steam dumplings and it was okay… No one makes fresh dumplings anymore so I’m not surprised.
On the bright side, the spring rolls were fresh. The restaurant is clean, the ambiance is nice, the service was fast and people are pleasant and I’m wondering if the Chinese food is better.
Bummer… We probably won’t be back.

This place has very tasteless phở. I ate it because I love phở. The service was great and the area was very clean. I wish I could give it a better review mostly because the service was so nice. But if your looking for a phở fix this place can help scratch an itch.

I got delivery from this place last night for the second time, and last time. I live less than 7 miles from this place, ordered delivery at 7:57pm and it was not delivered until 9:45pm, you do the math. Food itself is passable, nothing worth writing home to China about for sure and by the time you get it you’re usually so hungry you don’t care what it tastes like.
For the record, the 1^st time I ordered it also took nearly 2hrs, and my roommate ordered once and it was about an hr and a half. Absolutely no reason for this I can think of, don’t offer delivery if you can’t make it happen in a reasonable amount of time. Certainly don’t quote 45min-​1hr when it’s easily double that time. NEVER AGAIN.
