This is not my first hibachi experience, however I felt like the show was not as great as some of the others places I have been. I ordered the California roll and Catapiller roll they were both tasty. The service was very fast but that was part of the problem. Most people go for the show and it was definitely lacking.

Went to Shoguns in April 2016 and sat at restaurant and had a good experience with Filet Mignon fried rice. Took my in-laws to experience it and loved the fish in fron with small waterfall. Took pictures. That’s where it ended. We chose again to sit in restaurant side. First the AC was so cold, I froze, lucklly my wife her mother and sister had coats. The waitress had alot of time to wait on us, but would disappear out back for 10 minutes at a time. when she did come out. she would give everything at once. No perception of timing at all. We at least hoped that the food would be ok. Wrong, don’t know how or why but the filet Mignon tasted like LIVER. I apologized to my family for the poor experience and will never go back.

It is always a pleasure to eat at Shogun! We order a 3 meat option each time with extra rice and extra vegetables. We always have leftovers for lunch/dinner the next day. We have had splendid quality and service in the 2 Shogun restaurant’s we have frequented. Both in Monroeville, PA and Kennesaw, GA. We have even asked for«extra ginger dressing» to take home. They should market it!

Hmmmm, where do I start. We went here for my wife’s birthday with a reservation for a large group of 16. We had reservations for 7PM and were finally seated just after 8. The explanation given to us by the hostess was that their 530 showed up an hour later and therefore we were pushed back. There was an empty room, but we could not have it because a later reservation had secured the room. Needless to say, that group never showed up. Soup was spilled by the chef all over one of our attendees and the staff was generally rude. When discussing with the manager, he had no clue that our party was seated so late, but could not muster anything but to look down and apologize. A manager that is oblivious or cowardly to greet a group in this situation should only be bussing tables, ATBEST. This was the WORST dining experience I have ever been a part of. My family has eaten here at least 5 – 6 times a year for about a decade. Thank god my wife is finally done with this half rate restaurant. They will never receive a dime from my friends or family again.

1. This place was trash, straight trash, tasted like trash, smelled like trash and looked like trash. I have been to shoguns in the past and had very good experiences but this place ruined my night. Let us start from the beginning, our drinks were served flat, then our salad tasted like manure with a side of spoiled ginger. Our meal was way over cooked and the American chef utilized all of the butter they had purchased for the month of December. He drenched every piece of food in 2.6 gallons of teriyaki sauce before serving it to us. This place sucked don’t go. Oh and the miso soup may of well been runoff sewage water from ksu

I don’t even know where to begin. We stopped in for lunch since my daughter recently started school in this area, and I was moving her in this weekend. We sit down, and wait no less than 8 ½ minutes before anyone shows up with a menu. Our server – wasn’t even speaking broken English(as an Asian person myself, if I couldn’t understand her, you can imagine the other experience of other clientele in Kennesaw, Ga.) She was about 50IQ points short of Forrest Gump. The service was horrible and EXTREMELYSLOW even though there were only 2 other tables of customers at the time. The food? Even worse. Their sushi was fish leftover from the previous weekend I think – it had a rank odor and horrible taste/texture, making it inedible. They couldn’t even get basic Americanized Teriyaki Chicken right – it was way over cooked and tasted like it was drenched in salt, not teriyaki sauce. There are many other Japanese themed restaurants in this area. We will try the others and definitely NEVER go back to this place again.

It’s hard to be a Hibachi restaurant because the food most often becomes mundane and uncreative and more attention is given to the experience and grillmaster. At the end of all the shenanigans the grillmaster performs, it’s just meat and fried rice. Personally, they could’ve made that in the back for me and saved me from the hot grill and flying rice and teriyaki debris. I like to eat so watching people twirl spatulas and stuff ain’t my idea of a good time. So how was the food you ask? Well the word OK and typical are my descriptions. It’s nothing to drive to Kennesaw over. Maybe the sushi was better? But I will say the prices are better than Benihana where the experience is almost exactly the same.

It wasnt benihanna… but not bad. I decided to change to 5* after getting the check. Dont think ive ever gone for hibachi with under a $ 25 tab. Not sure what the rest are complaining about at that price. Unilocal mandates that i say more than that. Not really sure why. That pretty much sums it up. Cook was nice. I guess i would have like chopsticks? Idk Sake coulda been better I suppose. Steak was good.

We should have turned around when we walked in the door and an unusual and unpleasant smell hit us. The food was average at best. The only plus is that we did have friendly servers.

Kennesaw has a new place for Chinese food. Shogun on Busbee Parkway is now serving Chinese food in the Sushi bar area. I had the Mongolian Beef and it was delicious. Chef Feri with over 15 years experience did a great job. You outta check it out

Shogun is my jam. I have become a regular for lunch(much cheaper to sit on kitchen side during lunch). Teriyaki chicken and rice is my go to meal. The white sauce is probably what keeps me coming back everytime. It’s addicting. Try the lobster roll if you’re a sushi fan!

Food was just okay customer service and a total fail. Manager is not personable. I would recommend Taki’s in Hiram Ga over this place.

Went last night for a friend’s birthday, and most of the experience was great. They accommodated our large group of 18 fairly quickly, the chef was entertaining and the food was delicious. However, when it came time to pay, we gave our server cash. He returned with our change, but the bottom of the receipt was now torn off. My husband was about to leave the tip when a friend of ours — who also paid with cash — told him that her receipt was also torn off. Conveniently, the part saying 18% gratuity was already included was the part that was torn off the receipt. We’re pretty sure the server did that to try and get an extra tip. I have no problem tipping extra for great service, but I think it’s terrible that our server went about it dishonestly.

I was hesitant to come here because of reviews but figured what the heck. *didnt do anything but the Sushi bar fyi* Server was nice, quick and very attentive. Very laid back place. Was mildly busy but no wait(Monday night 830p ish). Place was clean, bathroom needed to be cleaned but when I let the server know I saw an employee with cleaning supplies go in shortly after. Prices are fair, even when it came to «Special Sushi Rolls». I ordered California Roll and the special roll called«Four Seasons». The sushi bar allows you to see them make your rolls, the gentleman who made mine was very detail oriented and he actually spoke to me breifly as well, very polite and nice. I liked the dining area, very relaxed and very well maintained. The sushi was perfect. Absolutely no complaints. In the pic, the Four Seasons Special is the plate in the front. Highly recommend this place.

Went here for lunch with my mom and a group of friends before going to try on wedding dresses. We made a reservation but didn’t really need to as we got there about an hour after they opened and it was pretty empty. Service was good and quick, we all ordered off the lunch menu so it was a pretty good deal. I got sushi and it was decent — nothing special but I just wanted some quick sushi. I don’t live around here so I probably won’t be back but it was decent for lunch.

DISCLAIMER: 5 Stars is for sushi bar only. [hibachi restaurant gets 2 stars] The best sushi in Marietta/Kennesaw area and the best value. They are always consistent — never had a bad order of sushi from them. We love their spicy tuna rolls, california rolls, lobster rolls and shrimp fried rice. Very friendly staff who remembers their patrons and they have outstanding customer service. Order food to go or sit down at the restaurant — either way your food will be delicious. Hibachi area may be a bit average but don’t let that stop you from dining at the sushi bar. We eat there twice a month at least(for the last 5 – 6 years) and it really is the best.

So I really liked going here for lunch because it was super, super cheap and the food was pretty good. But then my last visit happened… The food still tasted the same and the service was decent, but as the guy was cleaning the grill, he lifted the metal framing around it. Underneath was the the most disgusting conglomeration of left over food particles that I have ever experienced outside of a Kitchen Nightmares episode. Apparently, no one has EVER cleaned underneath that thing. So then I get all paranoid and start investigating the rest of my surroundings. The vent fan was all dirty and grimy — not good characteristics for something suspended over the food preparation area. As much as I love some cheap and greasy food, I’d rather not potentially sacrifice my health and well being to save a few bucks.
