Just hope no one else has to go thru what I have on an in store order that I placed and paid for. Still waiting for a call back. I won’t be shopping at this store again.

Very disappointed with my visit to this store. I had no customer service what so ever. The was 2 employees at the register close to the door and I was not greeted. As I walked around the store I heard other customers come in and were greeted and even asked if they needed and help. I had walked in knowing what I was looking for and needed help with a few items that did not have a price tag. But with the rudeness and lack of customer service I was not gong to spend my money there. I hope race didn’t have anything to do with service or lack of. I hope I will have better luck at another location.

I like that Pier 1 offers items that are both classic items for the home and also stuff you might not be able to find elsewhere. You can get classic white dishes or bright artistic pieces. I had worked at this location years back and they made a change to make the stores feel more like a gallery and less cluttered, however in the last two years they seem to have strayed from the gallery feel and the store feels very full again. Another reviewer points this out that the furniture is stacked on the sides so be picky about what pieces you choose. If you’re not happy with something on the show room floor the sales associates are really good about ordering something brand new and you can take home furniture that hasn’t been unpacked yet. Just this last year I did this and got some bed side tables in fantastic shape. Pier 1 is a great place to shop for gifts. If you’re one of those people who gives candles and picture frames to everyone, this is definitely the place for you. And to this day I know I don’t need another ramekin, but when I walk in the store the display just begs me to buy a few more… or an island orchard candle.

I love Pier 1, but you have to be careful. They have some really adorable stuff that is reasonably priced, but they also have some things that are vastly over-priced, like furniture for example. I would never spend $ 800 on a couch at Pier 1. Their bedroom furniture looks nice, but is made like cheap Chinese sweatshop furniture(watch for lead in the paint). My biggest problem with their furniture is that they have it packed into the tiny sales floor and display merchandise by stacking everything on top of each other, thus scratching the wood surface. You’d think it’d be reflected in the price, but it is not. I do have a thing for their mirrors though. They are somewhat reasonably priced for the detail and quality of them. However, I’ve been eye-ing an elaborate Spanish-esque floor mirror for three years(it never sells) and it is still regularly priced at $ 350. I bought a similar floor mirror a couple years ago that was on sale for just over $ 100(because I got a Pier 1 credit card and found some damage on the frame of the mirror). Man, I love that thing. If you’re going to buy artwork, go to Bed, Bath, and Beyond first, though… because they often have VERY, VERY similar things at a fraction of the price.

I remember going to Pier 1 when I was kid in southern Cali back in the 70s. I remember it being very rough, old, filled to the gills with trinkets from all over, and kinda cool(even to punk kid like me). Pier 1 nowadays is a far cry from that early ramshackle store. Pier 1 nowadays is definitely more swank and pricey. You can find some cool things here for sure. So, if you need to spice up the bachelor pad/house/patio/home movie theater/comic-filled personal library, this might be just the place for you.

YAYAY it’s in the Tri-Cities! Lots of fun and very artistic items. Things for gifts, decoration, warmth for the soul.

I think that these stores are just slightly above Ikea when it comes to furniture selection. I guess I have outgrown it. The prices are fair, the selection is… well there are choices and the service was just fine again. I prefer the furniture stores for better selection, intimate sales process and financing also delivery. That being said it is a place for economy and disposal purchases.
