Cracker Barrel has always been a family favorite. My experience this time was no different from the dozens prior, however the first at this location. I was seated immediately as it was about 5 in the afternoon on a Saturday. Per usual, I ordered sweet tea(unexpectedly delicious considering I’m used to VA/NC teas) with hamburger steak, mashed potatoes, and fried apples. If I could have gotten an entire plate of apples I would have. I tend to save them as almost a dessert– they are that good. As bread for the table I selected biscuits with jelly. Everything was cooked to my expectations and tasted excellent. When on the interstate between Chicago and Milwaukee and needing a hearty home-cooked meal, swing on in.

I have came here multiple times. The price is always great, food is amazing and who doesn’t love some apple butter. However, the service is terrible and my last experience was one of the worse I ever had.

Love this place!!! Food is almost always consistent, at least the breakfast menu. Wait staff always tries to make you happy. Love the charred smokey smell from the fireplace! Great shopping at the store side, but priced for tourists. Call ahead to see if they are slammed… wait time sometimes exceeds an hour!

We don’t have a local Cracker Barrel in our city so when we travel/road trip we like to go to a Cracker Barrel a couple times a year. This was our first time at this location. Good value as always. The green beans were a little off but the rest of our food was good. The waitress took a long time to bring our drinks otherwise the service was fine. We’d certainly return.

When in the area I like to stop in. This location is always clean and no such thing as bad service. I love the hash brown casserole. The pancakes are always so good. They sell the pancake mix and syrup so you can enjoy it in your own home.

My family and me are regulars there and we love it. The portions are good sized and taste awesome. The prices are also very reasonable. The country store is with it keeps you nice and occupied too if you have to wait for a table. I have never had a bad experience there.

We stopped at Cracker Barrel after a day of Apple picking. I had never been to one and felt like it was some place everyone needed to go at least once. After this experience that will be my one and only time… It was BAD everything was just old tasting. We took a couple bites paid and left to go somewhere else.

We stopped here on the way to Six Flags. We were seated fairly quickly but our server was slow to take our order. During the course of taking the order, she repeated it back to us several times to confirm the order. She still managed to forget parts of it and had to come back to ask for clarification. I ordered the egg beaters and fruit. To my disgust the blueberries in my fruit bowl were moldy! After finally flagging down our waitress to show her, she said, «Awww Sweetie, sorry about that.» After a few more minutes she came back to tell me she told her manager but he was busy bussing tables. We waited for a few more minutes but he never came to address the issue. I WILLNEVERRETURNTOTHISLOCATIONAGAIN!!!

Having been here many times before, my wife and daughter ordered breakfast at 5:15pm. They said it was very good as usual. I had the catfish dinner with hush puppies and fries. Other than slightly soggy fries, it was extremely good. Our server Caitlin, was always johnny on the spot. Never needed to look for her for anything. Many friendly and helpful employees on the merchandise floor as well. :)

Two reasons — Nostalgia and value. I haven’t been to a Cracker Barrel in ages — I truly can’t remember the last time. Tonight was one of those night where we randomly picked ourselves up off the couch and went on a mini road trip. Yes, it’s a chain, but it was exactly how I remembered it. I knew what to expect, and it was time the boys had their first CB experience. We closed out the Pleasant Prairie Outlets and headed for a late dinner nearby. The good thing about coming here is the large menu with lots of options. Kids menu is a fantastic value, and I think most everything on it was around $ 5 for a meal with a drink. Being bad parents, we loaded the boys up with root beer(bottles are extra), pancakes, and bought them Jelly Belly jelly beans and Cracker Jacks for tomorrow’s dessert. My vegetarian hubby ordered a custom egg white omelet with broccoli, tomatoes, and green pepper and a side of hash browns, grits, and a bran muffin. They don’t have omelets on the menu, but they made it special for him — $ 8. Great value. I ordered up chicken and dumplin’s, cheese grits, veggies, and biscuits. Okay, so nothing beats my grandma’s chicken and dumplings, and the cheese grits were surprisingly a bit bland, but the biscuits were light and fluffy and how a biscuit should be. Again, a great amount of food that I was able to share with everyone… and of course there was plenty left over for another whole meal. Perhaps one of my favorite things about the night was the triangle golf tee game on the table(a great memory from my childhood) and the gift shop. The boys went crazy looking at everything. Classic candy, fun and just beyond cheezy gifts, and random kitchen towels, kids toys, etc. Fun experience for families, and our meal came to under $ 40. Score!

I had the BESTBREAKFASTEVER!!! Uncomparably fresh! Tastes as if you cooked it at home. The orange juice tasted freshly squeezed!!! YUM! Dennys and ihop taste like microwave food compared to this! Totally recommend this place if you want great service and top of the line meals at great low prices! Plus ut has a really neat gift shop type of store… totally ADORABLE!

Slow service. Awesome store but kind of pricey. I got chicken and dumplings once and the chicken was under cooked and the gravy was super thick. You can play games while you wait for your food. Always busy.

There are no Cracker Barrels in Seattle, so my friend insisted we stop at one. It was weird to me that when you walk in you’re in a store, and the restaurant is a part of the store, but I was able to check out some knick knacks before my first meal in Wisconsin. The waitress was adorable. She had the biggest smile when talking with us. She recommended a few things for us, and we ended up getting the country dinner that was like $ 8. We chose corn muffins, fried chicken with mashed potatoes, and apples. This was the best fried chicken I’ve ever had in my life. It was so tender. The food was good, but the mood of the room felt a bit odd. Maybe it was because my friend and I were Asian? We definitely saw and felt a lot of stares during our time in Cracker Barrel and Wisconsin in general. Paying was a little unusual, too. We had to go back to the store side to pay our bill at the same register you pay for your knick knacks. Same with going to the restroom during your meal; you had to walk back into the store side to go to the bathroom. Don’t know if this type of restaurant-store combo works.

LOVE the campfire chicken dinner! I think I had it 2 or 3 times during my stay in Kenosha. Comfort food supreme! We have no Cracker Barrel in CA, so it’s always a treat for me to come here. Love the gift shop and always end up buying a shirt and some tourist crap here. Oh, and some gifts to take home with me. I’m a sucker, go ahead and punch me.

Stopped by here on a whim coming back home from Lake Geneva just now because I never have been to a Cracker Barrel. THENEGATIVES: — You need to give your name for a table immediately upon arrival in their store area which is packed to the brim with merchandise(a way to sucker you to buy something while waiting for a table). — While eating, you need to leave the restaurant area to go to the main store area to use the washroom, while getting glared at by waiting patrons, AND while doing acrobatic moves trying to climb around and over people and merchandise –Their bathroom was a DIRTY blast from the 80’s past w its décor. –Our server, Alle got the hubby’s order wrong and brought him BEANS instead of wheat toast(because they sound SO similar while ordering, riiiiiight). –I had yet to find her to beg for more water and a box. The pluses: My burger was ok and the hubby’s biscuits and gravy were ok. Those two factors equal one star(a rating which I RARELY give-view my previous reviews).

I hadn’t been to a Cracker Barrel since I was a kid, but went back on a whim for breakfast recently. I’m not sure how this is passable as food. Maybe eating at nicer places has made me a snob, but I felt nothing but regret after eating here. Everything felt/tasted like it had come out of a freezer, the gravy for the biscuits was thick and gelatinous, the eggs were cooked to hell, and the bacon… Is this actually bacon? Seriously. Last time I checked, bacon was a crunchy and crispy breakfast meat that is salty and tasty. What I received was a wet and limp slice of floppy and chewy meat that just tasted like grease. The service was friendly and the prices are great(you get what you pay for?), but if I don’t go back to Cracker Barrel for another 10 years, it’ll be too soon.

As the saying goes for chain restaurants… it’s not all that, but compared to other chain restaurants when you are on the road, this chain is by far one of the better and it’s reliable. The food is of good quality and the service is always friendly and accommodating. You can’t go wrong with the chicken and dumplings and fried apples are a favorite. Breakfast entrees are served all day and when you’re in the mood… you’re in that mood! Don’t expect good omelettes but eggs done to order with their baked hash-browns are really tasty. I don’t usually like biscuits and gravy much and the gravy appears too thick for me, but their pancakes are good. It’s a family favorite when we’re on the road.

We are suckers for Cracker Barrel. Hands down. If we end up traveling out of town(we don’t have one close-by — the closest is about 40 minutes away) and there’s a CB location, chances are we’re going to eat there. My favorite day to go is on Sunday for their homestyle chicken meal — it is DELICIOUS!!! But you can’t go wrong with their meatloaf, the chicken fried chicken, or the chicken & dumplins. I haven’t come across anything on the menu I didn’t like. OH — and order the baby carrots as a side. They are tender and juicy and PERFECT. My husband and my son are big fans of the fried okra. And both my kids like to sit down & enjoy a game of checkers while they wait for their food.
