Gander MTN

Have gone here a bunch of times, sadly. They have a large gun selection that none of the employees seem to know anything about. Each time I have had to wait inline while people stand around behind the counter doing nothing. Then after a while they ask you if they can help, but don’t have keys to anything and can’t tell you which end the projectile comes out.
Everything is about 10% more expensive than any other store around.
Don’t waste your time or money here. Bass Pro Shop has a much better staff and plenty of ways to get discounts.

This place is scary. Tons of firearms and meat grinders. I guess if you’re planning to do some killin’ this is the place to hit up.
The camping section is pretty sparse. The staff is relatively helpful and pleasant, so it’s not a total loss.

Excellent staff! I’m not sure what the main male manager is but he went above and beyond to serve me and help me find the right product! I will be back again soon for some fishing supplies. Thanks for the awesome customer service

Stopped in Gander Mountain on Sunday with my dad to pick up some firearm equipment and we were helped by Thomas one of the employees in the firearms dept. He was very informative and knowledgeable about all the questions we had. He helped me pick out the right gear I needed to clean my firearms and gave us some good advice on a particular gun I was interested in. The reason for the 4 star is mainly due to the prices at GM. They have a nice selection of guns but unfortunately most of em are a little on the high side.

I just bought my first shot gun from this place the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. I Dave was the associate I dealt with he a was awesome and showed many different options. I ended up getting a used semi auto 12 gage Weatherby I can’t wait to shoot it !! Thanks guy I’ll be back.

I love this store. There are always interesting things to check out. I love to browse the camping gear & usually find something new that I ‘need.’ Good women’s athletic & outdoor shoe collection. If you like the outdoors, good women’s clothing selection as well.

Nice store with some good deals. I usually buy ammo here on the way to the ranges. Ammo prices are usually rather high even before the rush on supplies. Most other things in the store are well priced and most employees are rathe helpful.

Thanks to Disney’s Brave my wife and I have been forced to listen to this for the last year…“I want to shoot a bow and arrow like Merida!” Next came the hunt (get it) for a school to teach the little one archery. Who knew that this process was so hard plus the age restrictions were attempting to destroy our plans. We finally found a school but it was really expensive for 3 classes and at the last second we found Gander Mountain.
We decided that we could get a bow and arrow for less then the price of those 3 classes at the school. So we went into the store and met Dean in the archery section. Dean was very helpful with us even though he was suppose to be going on his lunch break. I call that great customer service.
He then informed us we could try the bow today before we bought it. That was really nice of him. He also opened the package and set the proper tension on the bow for our little one. He was really helpful.
Now it was time to pull back the bow and let this arrow fly. Dean was very patient to give our little one advice on how to shoot the arrow. She had tons of fun with him.
I must say that I have shopped here for a while but I had no idea there was even an archery range hidden in the back. The best part was that with a purchase of the bow/​arrow you get 30 days free to shoot it on the archery range. So that will be fun! The only problem is the little one wants to shoot it everywhere. That is not fun! Most parents say, «No ball playing in the house!» Now I have to say, «No bow on the table during dinner!» Ha!
We have been back a couple of times to shoot and the little one is having a blast. I was not happy with the arrows that came with the bow. The tips got stuck in the targets on day 2 of shooting and stayed in the targets. I spoke with a manager and she gave me arrows that someone had just left in the archery range. So I guess she fixed the problem. I can’t argue when everyone is armed around here.
The second hand arrows worked and the tips did not come off of these used abandoned arrows. I also snuck in a few shots and impressed my ladies with a couple of almost bulls-​eyes. Look out The Lord of the Rings is in the House! I must admit I want my own bow now.
There is a rule where you have to check in at the service desk and they put a zip tie on your bow and then you can walk through the store and when you leave the archery range you need to get another zip tie. This is either for safety or security. It just confuses them when you walk into the store with the zip tie still on. Hello I’m only shooting at Gander and not at my house. I’m leaving it on for safety before someone goes hunger games on me! I am turning into an old guy!!!
I am glad we found Gander for our archery needs. The little one is having a blast. We haven’t seen Dean again but hopefully we will soon. He was really great and maybe he’ll have a few more pointers. Get it? Pointers! That’s arrow humor!

HUGE selection and GREAT sales. Not to mention there are a LOT of sale items of top brand merchandise. You can literally buy anything for camping and outdoors activities. Can’t wait to return!

They have a nice selection covering a range of outdoor activities, however I’ll keep this review to the area which I tend to visit the most, which is the gun section.
They have a good selection of guns and mainly geared towards hunting, trap shooting, with a small amount of AR platforms. There is also a nice array of hand guns as well. The guys behind the counter here are very knowledgeable about the various weapons and the prices here are better than what you’ll see at BassPro. When it comes to ammunition, they are generally well stocked, however I feel they are somewhat overpriced.
Perhaps one of the main reasons why I come here is due to the selection of other equipment and accessories used in this field. Good examples are the targets… they have a nice selection here and at great prices. In addition, items such as slings, holsters, gun bags, range bangs, safes, locks, and cleaning supplies are well stocked, and again, at good prices.
The clothing line is nice as well, albeit a bit expensive. However if you catch them on a sale, you can find some very nice deals here.

Staff was absolutely incredible. Had so many questions regarding WI deer hunting laws and Phil went above and far beyond to make sure I was helped and each and every question was answered. You are truly the best Phil. Thank You!!!

Gander Mountain is a great outfitter. They have a wide selection of goods, and decent prices. Every now and then they have great clearance deals (I picked up a pair of «retro» Wrangler jeans for under $ 15!).
Staff is very helpful!
