I have lived within a half a mile of this place since it opened but hadn’t stopped in until reading the reviews here tonight. We walked in to find the place clean with plenty of seating and a very friendly staff. We felt welcome from the moment we entered. The menu offers a great variety of family style entrées. They have soups and appetizers if you choose to add them but they don’t automatically come with your order like at some Chinese restaurants. I personally prefer it this way, then I am not full from the soup and bbq pork before my meal arrives. The prices were reasonable and ranged from 8.50 to 12.50 for an entrée. We ordered General Tao’s Chicken, Mongolian Beef and the House Special Chow Mein. They all arrived at the table on large heaping plates. We both ate until we were full and had more to bring home for tomorrow. The menu had indicated that both the General Tao’s and the Mongolian Beef were spicy but I would say they came out at about a 1 star. I did not lower my rating because the food was still very good and flavorful just not what we expected. We asked the gentleman that came to box up the leftovers if next time we could request it to be spicier. He was happy and enthusiastic when he told us of course he could make it as spicy as we like. Next time we’ll ask for 4 stars.

The food and service was awesome. Stopped in for lunch, and was totally satisfied when we left. The meal was hot, fresh and very tasty. I have eaten at a couple of chinese places already, and this by far is on par to be my favorite. Good food, good people.

For those Americanized Chinese cravings, San Wok has got me covered. I think San Wok is one of those little holes in the wall that can be easily overlooked(and driven past). It’s located right next to Benson Mart(right by the Jack in the Box). It’s a quaint little place, but they do serve up some killer Americanized Chinese dishes. The menu is pretty simple and straight forward. They’ll have all your favorites like orange chicken, fried rice, general Tsao’s chicken, etc. Now most Americanized Chinese places sell their food for pretty cheap so you might think San Wok is a bit on the higher end($ 10-$ 12 on average). However, the portion size here is out of this world. They give you huge, shareable servings. My S/O was craving Americanized Chinese, and since it was his birthday, I decided to let him have everything he wanted. We ordered orange chicken, string beans, fried rice and kung pao chicken. Woo, we definitely had a feast in our hand and we barely even made a dent in the food. With those four dishes, we probably could have fed an entire family(and in fact the leftovers went straight to family!). The orange chicken is flavored with real orange; none of that artificial stuff. You get giant pieces of juicy chicken. You don’t have to worry about there being too much breading and not enough meat because this place definitely does it right. The fried rice was pretty flavorful and once again, you get so much for one order. I liked the amount of meat in it as well as the veggies. I am a sucker for green beans and these were cooked to perfection. Not overly cooked and soggy, and not underdone and too hard. These were right in the middle and then stir fried with just the right amount of seasoning and spice. Surprisingly I liked the kung pao chicken a lot as well because it had a ton of veggies in the dish itself. There was plenty of chicken for all you meat lovers and I love the addition of the nuts! We went inside to order take-out and the lady there was very nice. She let us take a seat anywhere while we waited and offered us some water/tea. The bill was roughly $ 45, which in my opinion, is well worth the cost for the amount of servings you get from each dish. Will be back when craving this again!

Lets talk good Chinese food. Scratch that, lets talk GREAT Chinese food. Like many other cuisines, there are so many options for Chinese food as well. So per usual, I turned to trusty Unilocal! This place had the usual mixed reviews, but I did like what I read and let me tell you I was not disappointed with what we got! As a family of 4, we ordered a ton, duh. All chicken dishes as well ha, but hey thats what we like. The lemon chicken was amazing, the sauce was perfect and the chicken was breaded perfectly. The chow mien was just greasy enough and packed with great noodles and veggies, no extra sauce needed! The general tso was perfectly spicy, not soggy and had a great portion! We of course had to try the potstickers, which were pretty standard nothing to write home about. This place was fairly priced per your usual Chinese joint. For 4 meals it was just around $ 60, and it was ready for pick up when we arrived! I didn’t get to see the inside for I waited in the car with the dogs, but I will be going in next time so keep your eye peeled for an updated review! Side note… you can order and pay online as well! Check it out! Happy Eating!

I went here yesterday around 1pm. I decided to try the mongolian beef. Order came out fairly quick. It was good but I thought a bit pricey. 13.00 including a side of rice(1.00).A little skimpy on the beef but tasty. I will return and explore the menu on my next visit. 3 stars for now until I try some other menu items.

I absolutely love San Wok Express! The couple that owns it does such an amazing job. They are always so nice and attentive when we come in. Me and my boyfriend usually go for lunch. They have a really great lunch special, comes with whatever main entrée you want, regular rice or fried rice, an egg roll and either hot and sour soup or egg drop soup. The food is always fresh and vibrant. Everything I have had, has been amazing. The chicken is always super hot and crispy. I cant say enough good things about them. The building is a little misleading but give them a try you wont be disappointed. I will be back. Also they are closed on Tuesdays just an fyi

My first impression of this place was a hole-in-the-wall, so-so type of place. But the inside was unexpectedly clean and neat. The staff was very friendly and offered refreshments as we waited on our big take out order(costing $ 112). My family and I were not disappointed. The food met our expectations for a take-out Chinese food restaurant. Prices were fair for the food portions and quality. Not bad for my first time. I think I will go back to try more food from their menu.

I came here because of the reviews. I ordered general tso, beef and broccoli(at the employee’s recommendation when I asked for something with veggies) and bubble tea. They were very kind, quick and attentive. The place was clean, fairly empty(but I eat dinner early) However, the General tso tasted like they just put Teryaki sauce on fried chicken. And the beef and broccoli was sloppy and soupy– totally unappetizing. Maybe I ordered the wrong items? I am so desperately searching for a good Chinese place in Kent. I will give it another shot, and maybe just go off the reviews on here. But I was super disappointed.

Not sure how I was able to miss this place after living in the area 2 years! When passing through at lunch hour recently, I opened my Unilocal App to locate the highest rated Chinese restaurant in the area. This place rose to the top of the list for the Kent East Hill area. I found San Wok Express with ease, and at 1st, was skeptical, based on «curb appeal». I try to avoid strip malls, but sometimes they are unavoidable. Once I got inside, I realized the place was decent. Very small and cozy, but adequate for the light volume of customers at least on that day. I ordered the Mongolian Chicken lunch special, with a request for extra spicy, because that’s the way I like it. They started me out with a wonderful Hot & Sour Soup, and then the decadent Mongolian Chicken dish. It was a wonderful! Cooked to the spiciness level that I had requested. And the quantity fo food was just right, almost too much, but just about right. Excellent Chinese food and a very good value, as well! Looking forward to my next visit. :)

Must get items– green beans with chicken and singapore rice noodle! Those 2 items are my favorite. Price– not cheap and not expansive– just right in my opinion because the portion sizes are AWESOME! Do I wish that they can delivered? My answer would be no because if they were to do delivery I would be broke!!! hahaha I actually wish they do delivery :) Can’t go wrong with getting anything from the menu but I do wish they can make wonton noodle soup… they only have wonton soup… and I love the egg noodles and bokchoy in wonton noodle soup… I hope they read this! lol

On the recommendation of other Unilocal’ers I decided to take out. WOW, so delicious. The prices are great for the portion size. The gentleman who took my order was exceptional in his service. It is very clean and inviting. I had hot & sour soup, KUNGPAOCHICKEN, and egg rolls. All of it was excellent. I highly recommend it to you.

Pretty yummy Chinese food. The owner was very attentive and was quick to fix a dish that we did not order. The General Tso’s Chicken was delicious — chicken was tender and the sauce was thick and sweet! I was a little surprised that rice did not come with the meal but had to be ordered separately. Good size portions and appropriately priced.

Their food is very good. Their prices are amazing considering the quality and proportions given, which i think if they charged almost doubled it would still be within reason, because it’s that good and plentiful. And I agree with everyone else, this family staff is sincerely kind, warm people, without being invasive. I’m Chinese, and because of which I can be a snob when it comes to Chinese food in particular, rarely do I come across a Chinese restaurant worth recommending let alone rave about. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to this great find.

Location would make one apprehensive but it seems as if though when you walk into what some people describe a «hole in the wall» one opens the treasure chest of nom nom. We found this location from searching Unilocal since we were in the Renton area and did not want to drive back to Bellevue for dinner. My husband and I love trying new places and some with a high star rating can leave us disappointed. On this occasion we were far from disappointed. Staff was VERY friendly and the inside was very clean. We were promptly seated and given hot tea and ice water without having to ask. We did not like how small the tables were and our family of 4 found it very crowded. Utensils on the table were clean and we quickly ordered our food and just as quickly were served. We did not have any misconception and knew this was your typical fast food american Chinese spot. We ordered:(all served family style) House Fried Rice Shrimp Fried Rice Beef Chop Suy Sweet and Sour Chicken Egg Rolls All came fresh and hot and quickly to the table, served with a smile. All the food was so Wonderful! Although the egg rolls are just spring rolls and their drinks are just a can of soda with no refill. Long story short or long however you take it: GIVETHISPLACE A TRY! I thought the food had great flavor, clean oil and did not have a stale or old taste to it. It’s great you got to try it!

I have driven by this palace so any times to and from work and finally decided to give it a try. My mom and I went 30 minutes to closing for take out. We were greeted by the friendly owners. The place was so clean! I was not expecting that due to the location. We ordered pork fried rice, shrimp fried rice, and egg rolls which were all amazing! While waiting we had hot tea service and the owner was kind enough to offer us some gardening information. We will be back! Great prices, service and food.

The food is mediocre. The price is great though, $ 5.75 for«fried rice»(more like eggs and rice), an egg roll, soup, and your choice of meat! Come in during their lunch special from 11am-3pm. The service was nice, very friendly and attentive. The food«did the job», for a good price too.

Really good service. Nice clean place with good people. Unfortunately, the chicken was not as good as I would have hoped. Looks great and presentation was great. Problem u ask? All the chicken was dark meat. Not a good combo with fried orange chicken. I won’t go back… :(and this makes me sad cuz the lady was so nice.

Today was my first time eating here and I had a terrific experience. The service was intimate and the lady working there was full of positive energy and was happy to serve us. The gentlemen working there was equally as enthusiastic and polite. My water was always full and he even saw my napkin getting dirty so he brought me a new one without me asking. The bathroom were elegant and very clean. The music was calming and appropriate for the type of atmosphere we were in. The food was DELICIOUS! My girlfriend and I ordered beef broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, wonton soup and egg flour soup. The portions were large, and the quality was very high. The broccoli had a good healthy crunch to it and the beef was soft and chewy. The pieces of chicken were really big compared to other places! It took 3 big bites to eat one piece! The breading was perfectly proportioned to the amount of chicken. It wasn’t soaked in grease either which was a pleasant surprise. The atmosphere is very calming and well decorated. The floors are nice hardwood and the chairs and tables were comfortable and neat. Overall, I will certainly return for more of their great service and quality food. I live in the area and I love supporting small businesses. It would break my heart to see a quality establishment like this go under because no one is willing to give it a shot! The location isn’t the best but they’re making the best of what they have.
