Had a friend come in from San Diego, he wanted to try a «local» restaurant, we decided to try this location. I was not impressed my biscuits were stale and gravy was watery, my juice tasted watered down. I have not returned… many people have told me it is a nice place to eat, but i disagree

Great little mom and pop place. Good home cooking. Great service and customer service! If we’re ever in town again we will definitely be coming next back!

Sunday morning brunch ! Busy restaurant but didn’t wait long to be seated. I enjoyed the prices as much as my chicken fried steak n gravy with hash browns and eggs ! Fast service too !

Cute place and good service with good coffee. My cup was always warm and full. The refried beans and salsa were delicious. The migas could’ve used a bit more corn tortilla in it and the hashbrowns were a little too oily for me.

Unilocal, you were dead on about this place. A great small town diner with great home style cooking. Our breakfast was HUGE and so delicious. Migas are outstanding. The tortillas were made in house. NOM. Be aware that the locals know all about this place, so it is likely to be stuffed. Don’t be all prissy and wait around to have someone find you a seat, just go stand by an un-bussed table and claim it. Order some coffee, sit down and await the tasty vittles.

Stopped in on our way to San Angelo for breakfast. Parking quite full for a Thursday but lots of open tables inside. Very friendly service and very fast! The pancakes were huge– average in taste but great overall. Eggs, bacon and sausage patties were good as well. Spent $ 18 for two large breakfasts, coffee and water and walked out with happy tummies. We will return if in the area again. Oh an they serve breakfast all day. Yum!

I go to Kerrville every year for a triathlon, and I’ve driven past here many times and it’s always closed(later in the afternoon and evening). After racing for 6 and a half hours the day before, we woke up ready for some major breakfast food, and lo and behold, Save Inn’s Open sign was on(if it actually had a sign — we knew it was open because the parking lot was PACKED at 10am on a MONDAY). The folks in there could tell we weren’t regulars because I’m assuming they all were(it felt the out of towners entering the bar, cue the *record scratch* sound effect, and everyone looking at us), but then decided we smelled ok and let us join them. It took sort of this side of forever to get service, but the table cloths were interesting with old timey ads, so we had something to occupy our time. The servers were friendly and kept us in water after we got our initial order in, so there’s that. And… oh my… it was worth the wait. The Oatmeal flapjacks were one of the best things I’ve put in my mouth at breakfast time, ever. The sausage and hashbrowns were excellent as well, but oh… that pancake. I dream about it. Joel got the egg sandwich and he was happily occupied with it as well. I’m looking forward to trying lunch next time, or maybe not, because… pancake.

Coffee is great! And the honey oatmeal pancakes are fantastic! Migas are also awesome! Breakfast is the best in town! Service is consistent… and they are ALWAYS packed on the weekends!

Great traditional breakfasts, plenty of mild coffee and great service. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, easy on the wallet as well.

Delicious breakfast and super friendly waitresses. I love the Sinker taco. By the way, it’s huge. They close really early, but it’s worth it to wake up on the weekend and go in for some delicious breakfast.

Super delicious breakfast. Had the biscuits and gravy and it was really good. Service was great. Worth the drive past all the chain crap.

I have nothing but great things to say about the breakfast here. I was a little afraid when I pulled in, to be honest. The waitress was efficient and sweet. Food was fast and amazing! Best breakfast I’ve had in Kerrville The migas were cooked perfect. Slightly scrambled covered in cheese and the perfect amount if spice. I swapped my beans out for cheese covered hash browns

If you find yourself in Kerrville hankerin’ for a good cuppa joe & a delicious breakfast from a no-frills kinda place, then head over to Save Inn. The place is small, with plastic tablecloth tables scattered about. VERY casual, most people wore their pajamas. But the food is plentiful & good & that is what I was looking for. Nice waitstaff, we were seated quickly & had steaming cups of coffee delivered while we looked over the menu. They have migas. Migas! I love migas so that is what I ordered. After a short wait my plate arrived smelling so wonderful I dug in before my tablemate picked up her spoon(she was having oatmeal which she seemed to enjoy). Eggs were scrambled soft per my specs & laden with corn tortillas, pico de gallo, topped with hot sauce & cheese with a side of refried beans. What a delicious mess! The pico was above average & loved, loved the hot sauce. The refried beans were smooth & with the extra corn tortillas, I was able to make a bonus bean taco. :) The waitstaff was attentive & my coffee cup stayed full my whole visit. Yep, this is the place to go to start your day off right.

Our first time here and we were please. Note: If your the type who dines out on a regular basis and its typically reservations only and your bill for 2 is $ 150 plus then this might not be your type of joint. On the other hand if your like us, regular folks with 9 – 5’s and just enjoy good food period… well you should enjoy this place. I had the Lisa’s Taco plate and the wife had the Breakfast taco plate. Both was way more then we could eat. With coffee for us both our total bill was $ 14. Place wasn’t much just a small diner place. We was greeted within 2 minutes of seating *its seat yourself. Order placed within 10 minutes and food received within 22 minutes of walking into the door. :) Place was clean, table, floors etc. One very noticeable thing was the syrup and other bottles/jars at each table was very clean. This is something we always look at, as im a very clean anti-germ person. Our waitress was very good and refilled out coffee and water several times. Place was packed at 830 am Did not use the bathrooms so we can not comment on them. In regards to other negative reviews on here consider a few things…#1 We did not try everything on the menu. #2 All places have bad days #3 Some people are never happy and can not be pleased. #4 We’ve been in 27 countries in the last 13 years and found that when it comes to negative reviews 75% of the time they where not deserved. Another clue is look below at Jon B. review to go along with my above examples Jon B. from Denver is a great on. Of his 56 reviews approx. 40 are NEGATIVE!!! LOL What’s that tell you either hes a complete A-hole and can seldom be pleased or HE just is very unlucky. All in all we will be back and will tell our family and friends in town. Thanks for making our breakfast this morning after being out late last night. ;)

Oh my Dear God!!! Where do I begin? I visited the Save Inn Restaurant today for the first time. Once I was finally waited on, my request was simple, not requiring a menu. I wanted Eggs Benedict and coffee. Several minutes later the«Waitress» placed a cup of coffee on my table and quickly stepped away. Several more minutes passed before I could get her attention to bring some creamer. I prepared my coffee to my liking and sipped as I checked my e-mail. Several more minutes passed, my coffee had been consumed and I was calling again in an attempt to gain the«Waitresses» attention. Yes, I had already grown alarmed but was willing to excuse the poor service in anticipation of the Eggs Benedict that I had previously read such a glowing review. I did finally get more coffee but I felt it prudent to conserve this cup as I did not know if I might ever get another. Thirty five minutes after placing my order I was served my eggs. Immediately I noticed that the Hollandaise did not look creamy at all. However, once more, I set aside my better judgement in lieu of the accolades. I have not had such a rancid taste in my mouth since… I can’t remember! Horrible!!! Now, not surprisingly, I could not get the attention of any of the staff and had to get up and go to them. I walked out vowing never to return. There is no excuse imaginable for this degree of failure. I hesitated giving one star but a lower rating is not allowed.

Someone calls this a «mom and pop café». I call it a greasy spoon– I had the 2 breakfast. The eggs came our very greasy and the pancakes were tough. The bacon tasted how a burnt cast iron skillet smells. She had the biscuits and gravy. Decidedly unfluffy biscuits and flavorless gravy. And the floor is weird– everything wobbles when any one walks around in there.

A great little place! Came from out of town and enjoyed the breakfast. Tried potato egg taco and added some ham with cheese. Delicioso! I also had the barbacoa. You need to try it. The beans were homemade not from the can. The salsa was gees as was the coffee. If you want to try a place where the locals go, try this little gem. It is a mom and pop place with the added charm of good waitstaff and great food!

What a great unassuming diner. Walk-in and seat yourself. Everything was piping hot, fresh and the salsa was so good my husband bought some for the road. It is set back off the road and you can almost miss it. I can see why so many of the locals reviews had such high praise. We would definitely stop here again on our travels.

We’ve been here a couple of times for breakfast and it’s been pretty good, but not great. This morning, my food was not especially hot when served. After we had clearly been finished eating for some time and our table cleared, our waitress never brought the check. Finally, I laid my credit card on the table. She got the hint and picked up my card but I still never did see the bill. Some reviewers have said that this is the best breakfast in Kerrville. I hope not.
