This place is pretty nice and has good frozen yogurt but it’s not all that«Awesome» as the name states. They don’t have a wide selection like Orange Leaf. Not a lot of toppings either but what is really sad and what makes me give them only two stars is they state that they are a local home town yogurt shop. A military town but they don’t give all military a military discount. Only if you’re in uniform. Veterans, retired or even ones that are active duty but not in uniform can’t take part in a military discount. It’s very sad and I would rather go to Orange Leaf and get Awesome frozen yogurt.

So, I’ve never really been a fan of the the whole ‘fro-yo’ fad. I much prefer regular ice cream(or better yet, sorbet!) to frozen yogurt, no matter what the toppings or flavors. That said, the whole«self-serve» frozen yogurt bar is a really neat concept. Come in, put on whatever toppings you like, and pay by the weight? Cool idea, that. Awesome Yogurt is firmly in that latter camp and became our target for dessert after our trip to Chicago Gyros and Dogs. When we first entered, I was honestly a bit shocked – there wasn’t a soul in the place. Not even counter staff. Jules and I wandered around for about 5 minutes before even the counter clerk came out from the stock room: I’m sure he was a high school student, but he was borderline inept. When Jules and I asked for smoothies, he was utterly baffled that they were even on the menu, offering shakes instead. Jules and I opted for regular frozen yogurt, instead. Despite my preference for ice cream, this yogurt was pretty good. I opted for a blackberry flavored one which was smooth and tasty. Among the more traditional topping options, though, was something I’d never had. Apparently someone in the back had been flipping through the molecular gastronomy cookbook, as they offered little«pearls» of cherry, blueberry, and raspberry juice or flavoring. Those? Those were amazing. While I’m kind of ‘meh’ on the service at Awesome Yogurt, the options and price may have us coming back for a return trip. With any luck, the service will be much improved!

The flavor of the yogurt was great! Enough toppings to choose from. The staff was friendly and helpful having been my first time visiting. I got the salted caramel pretzel yogurt but it was close with the peanut butter. Both were tasty. Would have liked to see hot fudge as an option though. Excited to have something like this so close.

Great local frozen yogurt place owned by a nice family! Basically a self-serve place with toppings an choices of flavors. For the kids, there is a dance floor where dancing is much encouraged. Nice place to hang out or meet new friends! Way to go, Awesome Yogurt!

A fantastic, independently owned, self-serve frozen yogurt shop! Absolutely loved the flavor and very fresh taste and texture. The staff was extra friendly and helpful, plus the décor was fun and relaxing. Great flavors and plenty of toppings(Nutella anyone?). I would definitely go out of my way to grab a bowl here instead of a going to a chain. You can tell the owner really put in the work to make the experience and frozen yogurt above average. Keep up the good work, guys!

Very limited flavors. Thought they all tasted the same. They do have a lot of toppings to choose from. With all the competition I would rather go to a different place.

I love seeing local people starting businesses. This place is great and they have more than enough toppings. I read some of the other reviews and don’t understand. I go there at least 3 times a week. It is the perfect distance from my work. A nice walk and some great Frozen Yogurt. The people that work there have always been super nice and I have not seen any kids working there since school is in now. Please try it and help support local businesses.

The best yogurt shop in Kettering! Simply the best tasting yogurt and toppings in the area. Also, a very fun environment — my kids love hanging out there!

The yogurt and topping choices are fewer than Orange Leaf. The parking is wonky. There’s very little seating. I used my $ 10 Groupon to pay for $ 8.77 in product. Rather than just say«Thank you, please come again», the dizzy kid launched into a dissertation of why she couldn’t give me change back. I know how Groupons work and didn’t expect it. Now I want $ 1.23 just for dealing with the snotty attitude. I have a second Groupon to use and won’t be back to use it let alone to pay full price.

I loved the original tart with fresh fruit! The yogurt was right up there with Pinkberry and that’s saying something.

It is wonderful to see a local Entrepreneur opening and operating a business. The Yogurt is good and the price is fairly reasonable. The inside of the establishment could really use some decoration, it is not at all conducive to sticking around and maybe going back for more. The limited space and very awkward furnishings are uncomfortable, and seem far too artsy for such a place that is trying to cater to families. i get the color scheme efforts but there is only one or two tables, and no room for outdoor seating. The interior has a very odd layout and the esthetic almost looks too bare and barren. There are amazing opportunities to personalize the interior with local sports teams, church youth groups, friends night out, or families to post their pics on the walls eating their yogurt, and etc. I would put up a huge whiteboard with the logo on the very top and let people come in and draw or write things on the board. Countless opportunities in the Marketing department. As a Marketing professional for over 23 years, I sincerely hope they stick to building their brand and stay away from doing endless coupons. They need a simple loyalty card that gives you a free Yogurt after X number of visits, not just some bucks off. The name is very clever and has unlimited opportunities to be utilized for brand recognition. For this local business to compete with the chains, it has got to be about name recognition for quality and choice. People will pay good money for something if it is better than the competition, Starbucks is still proving that everyday! Community, Community, Community! I wish them lots of luck! I hope they realize that there is more to online and traditional marketing than Facebook! They seem to lean very heavy in that direction, and FB is fast becoming very uncool. This place needs to stay hip, different, and on the cutting edge to compete with the deep pockets of the Franchises. :-) Their Chocolate Yogurt is really good and the topping choices are fair, not too many fresh fruit options that aren’t immersed in juice or preservative, but a good selection nonetheless. Parking leaves a lot to be desired. This place is a good treat night for yogurt take out and will make the kids happy for a healthy alternative to ice cream, but I wouldn’t plan on sticking around or eating inside, save yourself the sales tax and just get it to go!
