Flip Side is out of business. While the burgers and other menu items were okay, it was terribly overpriced so I can see why it didn’t make it.

Summary: Expensive for what you are getting. I’ve eaten here once with my girlfriend and we have very different dining experiences. She loved her food. I HATED my food. My food was super greasy and tasteless(other than grease). Also the total came out to something like $ 25 for burgers, fries, and drinks for something that makes McDonald’s taste like a 5 star restaurant. Maybe they had an off day but the price is way too much of a gamble for me to give it another shot for such a horrible meal. The location was clean, but very small. The girl working the counter was very nice and social and I see why they would have repeat business as she was very cute. But the food was horrible.

My roommate and I are devastated that Flip Side closed! So much so that we joke we would start a kickstarter campaign to reopen it. We would have gladly taken a price increase… Anything to save it… As long as the sandwiches still came with those delicious chips! Still in mourning :(

I went here to grab a bite to eat before the movies across the street and was pleasantly surprised. Like the other reviews mention, this place is small. Very small. Like 6 people small. So, if you’re a party of 7, somebody is standing. However, if you go there with another person and it isn’t too late in the day, you will have quite the meal. I had the cheddar burger, now mind you none of what this burger included was on the menu, but it was delicious. It was served with bacon and the cheese was inside the burger. WHAT?! Inside the burger! I know that sounds awesome, because it is awesome. My mother had the blue burger which was served with apples and blue cheese. She loved it and was pleasantly surprised. We also got a strawberry milkshake which was especially delicious and not at all nutritious. The best thing that this place has going for it, are it’s prices. Seriously. I think the burgers range from 7 to 9 bucks and alongside the burgers you get some delicious homemade potato chips. They were also quite delicious. The burgers were also made to order which was a nice and much appreciated difference from that of another fast food joint. The problem with this place is that we had no idea what we were getting, I assumed I was getting a cheddar cheese burger and my mother assumed she was getting a bleu cheese burger. It would be nice to know what the specific items actually entailed. Also, the place is tiny. Very small. They would benefit greatly from an expanded shop and an expanded menu

Flip side is a most excellent hamburger joint in Kew Gardens Queens. I ordered their blue cheese burger OMG they put the cheese on the inside, the burger is so juicy, with the cheese just gooing out. Their french fries taste like home made fresh cut spuds. Yummy. This is one of the better burger joints in Queens. PS don’t forget their shakes.

In order for this place to last long in this town, they need to make the prices cheaper and rent the space next door to expand the p;lace. The fact that its cash only is a bother. The place could be successful if it was cheaper, bigger and more comfy.

Flip me some more burgers. Ordered a Bleu cheese burger with apples and honey. Wow! The blue cheese is inside the center of burger and topped with sliced apples. Honey is spread on the brioche bun. Who would imagine? So tasty. Freshly made potato chips. Crunchy and delicious. We even ordered a side of french fries which came in a bag. End the meal with a Vanilla shake. I am coming back for more. This is a small place. Great view of the street and across from the Kew Gardens Cinema.

Decided to give this place a try since I read good reviews on it. The place is really small for a burger joint, but the food was really good hot and fresh. I had me the Starters Chicken Kabob on a flat bread, loaded Sweet Potato Fries in brown paper bag just like Five Guys serves their fries, and a cream soda. At first I ordered a diet coke in a can while I was waiting for my food being made it was expired, and I exchanged it for a cream soda instead. Over all the food was great, and I’m looking forward to go back there real soon. I give it 4 stars on my visit.

i have eaten here multiple times. Although there burgers and fries tend to be good, this is the most inconsistent food joint yet. The second to last time i at here, the burger was juicy and cheesy and the fries, dry and burnt, another time, fries were crispy and hot, this last time i ate here, my burger was overcooked, even though i asked for medium, and my fries were cold and tasteless. I kept having to dip everything into the garlic aioli which is the only consistency they have probably. Its just a matter if you would like to gamble your money,

Flip Side is a small burger joint that is nestled in one of the blocks along Lefferts Boulevard. It is not on the hustle and bustle of Queens Boulevard and I traveled along Kew Gardens and through some neighborhood streets to get to it. I was actually presently surprised by their burger. I had the American burger for $ 8. The burger was perfectly cooked to medium, which I requested and served on a Brioche like bun with lettuce and tomato and stuffed with American cheese melting and oozing. The meat had good beef flavor, was moist and everything was the right balance. Pretty darn good burger! The bun held up to the burger and the bottom was tougher than the top of the bun. The bun was also pretty to look at. I had mine to go, and they wrapped up my burger in aluminum and on the side was a garlicky pickle wedge. It also came with a side of homemade chips. I’ll skip the chips, as I can taste the oil. The burger is the standout here and goes well with the crispy, garlicky pickle wedge. Flip Side is colorful and playful. There are colorful posters and printed Flip Side logos in different colors adorning the wall. This joint is modern and hip with pop culture type design. There were only 2 workers; one person taking orders and working the cashier and a guy hidden in the small inner kitchen cooking away. Place is small and there is counter place and bar stools. I counted only seven stools and a counter by the window and a smaller counter next to the larger counter on the side much like an L shape. They make burgers to order here so give them some time to fire it up! If you are in the vicinity give them a try. Burgers are delish! They also have some lunch specials with Panini’s and sandwiches. If you are not in the mood for burgers there are flatbreads, salads, and shakes.

Flip Side. Small burger joint directly across from the Kew Gardens Cinema. Ran across to get a bite about fifteen minutes before my flick started. It’s a pretty simple stool & counter setup with a direct view facing out towards Lefferts Blvd & the cinema. the place was clean. the girl behind the counter smiled and was polite. Ordered the Mushroom Burger with fries. It took about 10 to 12 mins to be prepared. Was topped wit Bacon, Cheese and yeah you guessed it… Mushrooms. Burger wasn’t overcooked. Bun was soft and a nice size. Bacon was crisp and mushrooms seemed fresh. They had a Chipolte Ketchup I poured on my burger which was pretty good. A big paper bag filled with generic skinny fries accompanied my meal along with a bag of potato chips. They have shakes that I’ll try next time around. no complaints here. I’ll catch another burger on the Flipside. good stuff.

Items are menu are expensive between $ 6 to $ 9. Service was slow, but chicken kebab was great and came with pita bread and white sauce.

Walked past this place all the time but decided to give it a try after moving to the neighborhood for almost a year now. I ordered the Cheddar Burger and a «Homemade(pink) lemonade». The lemonade is anything but homemade. But due to technicalities, «homemade» these days just means you stirred the lemonade mix together because seriously, where do you get your bubblegum pink lemons? The Cheddar Burger was … alright. It was loaded with bacon and«cheddar cheese». The«cheddar cheese» was gummy. Almost like a soft chewed gum. Yea … that killed my appetite right there. The burgers come with homemade chips. The chips were pretty awesome. Other than that, the food is not that good.

Ordered in while hanging at a friend’s place. Thick juicy burgers served on a roll. I had the blue cheese burger. The cheese was stuffed inside the meat and topped with honey and sliced apples. Absolutely scrumptious. The bag of homemade potato chips were the perfect side to the burger. We also ordered a side of french fries which were delicious too. The garlic and chipotle dipping sauces complimented the fries well. Nice local joint(lucky friend).

Man, I really really tried to like this place. When they first opened a year or two ago, a friend of mine went and wasnt crazy about it. Something about having to buy fries because they didnt come with the burgers… okay. fair enough. The other night, i walked over to the venue with a friend and didnt know the establishment was closing in 30 minutes. I ordered the cheddar bacon burger medium rare. My friend ordered the same, well done. We split the HUGE order of fries. The burgers were wrapped in foil and placed in a styrofoam container. The fries in a paper bag and the complimentary home made chips in a paper bag as well. We decided to eat it on site. My burger was juicy! It was tasty. But the bread was entirely too thick and chewy for this kind of burger. A potato bun would really set this thing off! The fries were crispy and salted perfectly. They were closing as we were eating and didnt rush us on our way out. My friends burger was way too dry. If you dine in– dont get well done– its extremly dry! I thought it was a really decent experience. The offerings in the neighborhood are very«meh» so i decided to try the delivery service. And here is where we go wrong. I ordered for delivery: 1 cheddar burger on a whole wheat bun with lettuce and tomato(med Rare) 1 mushroom swiss burger on a whole wheat bun(med rare) and order of sweet potato fries and the chips. What we got: 1 cheddar burger on a whole wheat bun,(medium) 1 swiss burger with lettuce and tomato on a regular bun(well done) 1 bag of soggy fries greasy chips We barely touched our food and it certainly wasnt cheap. $ 30 for 2 burgers and an order of fries that were terrible really hurt my wallet. There are ways to pack fries to retain their crispness… and placing piping hot fries in a paper bag and insulating it is not one of them… and please cook a burger to order… I would come back but for dine– in only… and there are but 4 stools in the place.

This is my first Unilocal review, but felt I had to write it because of how disappointed we were in the food. We tried a variety of things off the menu; here is a summary: — Fries: SOGGY, cold, wet tasting /dipping sauces for fries: good — Shakes: meh, OK — Quesadilla: Meat was rubbery & fatty. Quesadilla was greasy & oozing with cheese — American Burger: Bits of fat in the meat, smelled and tasted like a greasy frying pan, overcooked, inedible — Regular Burger: Same frying pan smell & taste, fatty meat ***(I can’t stress enough how bad the smell was as we took the burgers out of the containers — like a dirty frying pan or something)*** We both felt nauseous after eating, will definitely not be ordering from here again. Very disappointing :/

My co-workers and I have drove past this place numerous times and finally we decided to give it a try. I personally love to see places that although you might have to wait a little longer than usual for food, it’s made fresh and from a person who is efficient at making that style food. My first time I ordered a Blue Cheese burger which was delicious and a decent size burger. My second time there the owner said I should try the pulled pork sandwich and I must say it was incredible. A must order. The owner was a nice guy as well as his staff and you can see that they are really trying to bring a different/healthy spin to food in the Kew Gardens area.

If there were a choice, I’d say three-and-a-half stars. Four stars for take-out, but I almost never get take out. I live with a very greedy Italian greyhound!(But there is a little park not half a block away on Austin Street.) What’s not so great: it’s tiny; you *have* to take the chips, though the fries are much better; and – oh yeah – the place is truly tiny. What’s great: the brioche buns; the great flavors(I’m all for the blue cheese with apple and a bit of honey; the soft, skinny fries with aïoli. Do actually read the menu. There’s more to it than the posted menu. The cheese is *inside* the burger. Every burger comes with homemade chips. There are regular fries and sweet potato fries(the sweet potato ones are almost wedges). And there are really tasty milkshakes. The burger and chips is a lot of food. You might come with 2 or 3 friends and be able to add some fries. I’ve eaten here several times. I’ve been delighted every time, both with the food and with the service. I wouldn’t travel for a long way to come here, but if you live in the neighborhood, are going to a film at Kew Gardens Cinema(which is directly across the street), or if you got of the the LIRR at the wrong station and are waiting for the next train(the LIRR station is less than a block away), you’re in for a treat.

Hmm… I remember seeing this place reviewed on here last week, and now it says only one other person has reviewed it. Could it be because they were bad reviews. Anyway… For the area this place stands out, but I wish the burgers were actually good! Came here last week and had the American Burger. This fatty needs fries with her burger so I ordered a side of fries. I should have asked what comes with the burger, because the burgers come with a side of greasy/soggy fried potato chips. No where on the menu does it say that. The 2 stars are for the addition of chips, they didn’t taste good but it at least explains a $ 9 fast food burger. So now I have a «just ok» burger, a side of fries(Not good either) and soggy chips. Needless to say, ¾ of my meal was thrown out. The burger is huge, but overcooked. The bun was bigger than the burger itself, and wasn’t good. Gimmie a standard sesame seed bun please, don’t get fancy with buns. All in all I wouldn’t go back. Ill travel the extra mile to cheeburger cheeburger in forest hills!
