Spolini’s is a classic Kew Gardens favorite. This place has been open literally my entire life, and I’ve watched it grow and expand, all while frequenting the place with my family for every special occasion. Highly recommended family style dining!

One of my favorite restaurants. Always find the service & food to be excellent, had a great waiter Carmine-he made sure everything was satisfying & to our liking. Never had a bad meal there. We brought relatives to Spolini’s and they raved about it, and plenty of left overs to take home.

Not a very fancy spot… But they are great at what they do. If you have a large Italian family that prefers classic dishes over modern then this is where you should come. I have had so many birthday, graduation, and other special occassion parties here because i know everyone is going to love it. If the pappardelle with veal is on the specials, Order It! Also they have great chicken scarpariello.

I purchased a Groupon deal for this restaurant and I must say that it was worth it and then some. The restaurant is nice with excellent service. We were very satisfied with our meals and would definitely recommend this restaurant.

I have a few Italian favorites and this is one of them. The food is excellent and authentic, plus the staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly. Parking is difficult but they do have valet and that works out perfectly.

It’s really difficult to give this restaurant a 2 star rating. I really like the people and the atmosphere of the place. The waiter and bartender were super friendly but the food was ‘meh’ at best. We ordered the baked clams for an appetizer which had a kind of plastic after taste. Kept it moving forward, I had the penne a la vodka with grilled chicken which had a strange super orange tint, kind of like box Mac and Cheese. It tasted liked it looked, strange. Generally, if your in a crunch this place will suffice.

Came here on Saturday night with the wife. Had a voucher and thought I’d check it out. First impression of the place was that it was loud and boisterous. Tables to close together where you can hear everyone conversing. The manager sat us literally in the middle of the noise. Dirty tablecloth on the table. Waiters running up and down the narrow path, twice scuffing my shoes. The red wine was not to my liking, so I stuck with the water. The food we ordered was as follows: Appetizers: stuffed mushrooms and Caesar salad. Both were not to our liking. Mushrooms had way to much garlic and oil. Caesar salad was just placed in a plate with a sloppy presentation. Waiter wasn’t to cleanly himself, with numerous stains on a white shirt. Come on, be more presentable. Entrée portions were sizable but felt short of the intended mark. My calamari marinara was a sea of sauce with little«life raft calamari«floating around. I picked at a few but that was it. Tasted like rubber, super heated. The penne my wife ordered was sub par as well. The only good thing was the broiled broccoli. The dessert we took home was unsavory and lackluster. This place is NOT for me. NEXT!!!

Was served RAW chicken parm! My boyfriend and I ate a few bites before realizing, so we may possibly get salmonella poisoning. The waiters were also rude when I expressed I was upset I ate raw chicken. They did get us a new meal however I couldn’t touch it because I was already extremely grossed out. BEAWARE when you eat here and make sure your meat is cooked. Will never come back again.

My husband and I went out here on a whim tonight when I told him I didn’t want to stay home. I wish I had chosen to stay home instead. As soon as we walked in the place was loud and rowdy. The patrons completely lack respect for one another. We were led to sit at a table for two next to the loudest group of about 15 people. But that wasn’t what immediately caught my attention. Before we even say down my gaze immediately fell on the dirty and crumby table cloth. We didn’t say anything. We say there waiting for our menus which took forever to make it to our table. Upon receiving the menus my disgust grew. They were made of black leather covering which was oily and dirty from previous users fingerprints. I didn’t even want to touch them to open it. The service was horrible because we waited long for our waiter and then for our food. To top the night off we had to listen to the raucous laughter and chatter of the table near us. The food, although had sizable portions, wasn’t very nicely presented. The salad sloppily thrown on the plate. The red wine spilt all over the glass. The waiter was obviously not into cleanliness which was quickly visible by his tomato sauce stained apron. My entrée, penne a la vodka, lacked cheese and had a trace of linguine in there which again was sloppily(accidentally) mixed in. I basically did not enjoy myself, and from our discussion on the ride home, neither did Jack D. We were unable to converse and the food didn’t make up for it. Sorry Spolini’s, you got to step up your game. 1 star and for sure will not be returning again.

What happened??? You used to be so good. Big delicious heros. Today’s delivery was a mini sauceless version of a chicken parm hero. Sorry to lose yet another choice for restaurants in the area. Just got totally ripped off. Not going back to you guys anymore and letting everyone know how ripped off we got.

Spolini’s is one of my favorite spots in the Tristate area. Never, have I had such consistently delicious old school Italian food(for example, try their homemade gnocchi made with ricotta cheese– much lighter than made with potato) along with fabulous steaks, chops and potatoes if that’s what you’re craving. Their Banana Flambé is heaven and the presentation is amazing. Last, but not least– Sergio and Gail, co-owners, are hospitable, kind and treat you just like family.

The food is alright, nothing«wow» about it. Reason why I would never return is their valet staff. They are rude and unprofessional(fat girl and the guy with beard).

I don’t understand the Unilocal review algorithm at all. It is definitely a biased review site. I left over ten reviews while having my food along with pics but each one of my review was filtered to non recommend reviews. Very strange and disappointing. From this point on I am not going to use this site!

We just had a luncheon that was following a funeral. I was glad to be there for the family, but I would not have paid for this meal myself. I do not know how they choose to wash their dishes, but they need to fix that. Three times during the meal we came up with dirty glassware and silverware. The first was when I ordered a Coke, and the glass that they served had lipstick on it. The second one is when my wife’s water had something on the bottom of it. Third, when I had coffee at the end of the meal, my spoon was dirty. When lightning strikes thrice, I go to another restaurant. As for the food, it was cooked fine, just no seasoning. The only thing I really enjoyed was their past course, which I hope was fresh pasta. Either way, I could not have been more disappointed with the service. Please, get a new dishwasher!

Place is nice, low key. food was pretty good. I like the fact that you have an option of individual or family style. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. Over all its a nice restaurant in the neighborhood. I would definitely go back

I went here with my girlfriend, and overall I was very satisfied. I’m a picky eater, so my precise rating would be 3.8. This is a very typical and homely Italian restaurant. Not too fancy, yet very comfortable. Definitely worth a try at least once, especially if you are a local. If you are in Manhattan and have a larger group, I would recommend Carmine’s over this, but this was very good food. Good and typical Italian waiters; they don’t talk much about food recommendations and sorta wait for you to order AKA you gotta make your own decisions. Also, you have to ask for the bill otherwise they leave you alone, also typical in Europe. Their chicken parmigiana was very good. Fresh ingredients with a side of cooked spinach. The spinach was juicy but a bit plain and I would add some of the spinach to the chicken. My girlfriend ordered the Spolini pasta(not the exact dish title). The sauce they use is delicious. It’s an orange vodka mushroom sauce with veggies and thinly sliced prosciutto. In fact, my girlfriend ordered some extra sauce to go, and they gave us enough to fill a large jar twice the size of typically-sized spaghetti sauce jars($ 6 charge though). Good espresso. We had the chocolate mousse for dessert. Very good; a melt-in-your-mouth texture to it. Not the best I’ve ever had compared to some of the Manhattan Italian restaurants but definitely satisfying for the end of a nice meal. We came back her about a week later to try the banana flambé. It’s true that they make it in front of you, and it is delicious. My gf enjoyed the tiramisu.

Following a movie at nearby Kew Gardens Cinema, with a friend, hunger pangs strike hard where inclement weather permits traveling afar. Spolini’s was no disappoint for good quality Italian cuisine with professionalism attentive service. My friend’s diet soda at $ 2.50 and my Kamikaze cocktail on the rocks at $ 9.00 proven liquid revelry for the evening. Our dinner consists of one family style platter of Rigatoni alla Vodka at $ 22.00 shared holds substance and flavor. Bread distributed were served in olive oil which I prefer. The facility presents a lovely Italian countryside, clean and well stocked with basic amenities. Staff is very welcoming and friendly in true Italian hospitality.

I came here with two friends and let me just say wow. First of all the service was amazing the the food that followed was even better. Food is done family style, we started with fresh mozzarella and tomatoes then shared Penne a la vodka and chicken Scarpiello. Everything was really good but I couldn’t get enough of the chicken that came with potatoes, sweet red peppers and sausage. For dessert I enjoyed a mix of banana and strawberry Flambé. I can’t wait to come back.
