So where do all the residents in Kew Gardens go to on a Saturday night? Dee’s(apparently). I have driven by this restaurant hundreds of times on my way to Trader Joe’s and I never gave it a second thought. Then I was asked out on a date and he selected Dee’s! The place is packed! I did not realize this was the happening spot on a Saturday night in Kew Gardens, but it is and with good reason! The service is great and the food is delicious! I have the shrimp with pasta and that was delicious! I forget what my date had but we both had some good red wine! Definitely recommend getting reservations to avoid waiting!

Dees has definitely gone down hill since I started going in 2011. What started as a great date night spot with reasonable prices turned into a bougie over-priced Italian fusion restaurant with a skewed reservation system. Save yourself the money and grab a slice at Dani’s or Nick’s pizza instead.

I had dinner the other night. We had calamari and I had the skirt steak Argentina style. The food was good. There were a lot of people ordering pizza which smelled delicious. The ambiance was very nice, especially if you want to go there on a date. Highly recommend this place.

Went with a group of 15 and we honestly enjoyed ourselves. The food is delicious from the apps to the meals(the only problem was a table of 15 and one meal came out when everyone was almost done) but it was very good. Onto the dessert; very very good! Go for the cookies(comes with milk) and the moms rice pudding so much flavor(if you’re into that of course) but amazing. I would go back on a dinner date!

I am extremely disappointed with Dee’s. My husband and I have eaten at Dee’s many times, both together and with friends and family. On Saturday December, 5, I planned to take my 96 year old grandmother to your restaurant. I used Opentable to put in reservations for 6PM, the latest she can eat comfortably due to medications and her age. I received a phone call at around 4:30, just 90 minutes before the time we were going to show up for our CONFIRMED reservation, telling us not to arrive until 6:30 pm. I called the restaurant back to explain that would not work and due to my grandmother’s age and therefore we need to eat on the earlier side with her. I was told I could come at 5:45 pm, which would have been fine but, about five minutes later I received a call saying sorry we don’t take anyone before 6 pm. So, first off, how could I have spoken with somebody who told me to show up at 5:45 when that was impossible? And second, how did you determine my reservation was the one that should be bumped? Mine, who has somebody with a medical condition and requires early meals, should be moved? So, after Dee’s was«kind enough» to cancel my reservation for me on Opentable, my husband, now looking for a place to eat for tonight with only 90 minutes lead-time, found that there was space once again at your restaurant. He put it in on Opentable but was smart enough to call to confirm, and of course we still could not be seated. So, why was Opentable able to seat him once my reservation was cancelled when, once again, no seats were actually available? After eating at your restaurant several times, and rating you five stars on Facebook, I am so very disappointed. I very much wanted to go to you and now I was unable to, all because you chose my reservation to be the one to be cancelled(and since all reservations on Opentable are in fact confirmed, you CHOSE to cancel a confirmed reservation). I love your food, but clearly you have a reservation system issue that I can no longer trust actually being able to eat there. Hopefully this will be fixed so my grandmother can soon taste your food. Once I complained to your Facebook page, it took a week to receive a response from your manager. When he did call me, he did clarify there was a private party that was going over and that he was calling every customer with reservations to tell them to come at 6:30. He felt 90 minutes on a Saturday evening was ample time. The issue of the private party was NEVER communicated to me by the staff. Furthermore, the manager felt like he and his staff did absolutely nothing wrong by pushing my reservation and allowing the private party to go over. He did not offer an apology for the fact that we were left scrambling at the last minute. I would not trust their reservation system and their management is very poor.

Came here for lunch. I went to high school in the area, and I never heard about this place. The décor is semi-upscale. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The table ordered the Mediterranean mix with the baked garlic focaccia. The mix came with hummus and sauteed eggplant. It was delicious, the hummus tasted freshly made, and the eggplant was not overcooked. I ordered Dee’s favorite brick oven pizza for the main course. The pizza was good, but not great. The peppers on the pizza did not taste very fresh. There should also be a spicy sausage option for the pizza. Overall good experience, but I will try something other than pizza next time.

Came here for a baby shower about a month ago, the staff was very accommodating since we had toddlers that needed to eat at a certain time. Also, had the mojito — it was on the sweeter side rather than strong, but one can’t complain. The food was decent, I got the basic spaghetti and meatballs and it was actually better than the creamy dishes my cousins ordered. I liked the salad and the walnuts in it. I would come back again just to try their other options. Unfortunately, their garlic bread was a little on the bland side — we had to ask for some marinara sauce to liven it up a little bit.

Maria was such an awesome waiter. Very attentive, upbeat and joyful. The teriyaki skirt steak with garlic mashed potatoes was delicious. I highly recommend the butternut squash soup which wasn’t too sweet but just right! The décor of the restaurant was beautiful. From the wallpaper to the open skylight and the dim lighting. Great spot for Sunday dinner, birthday dinners and family night. Excellent service.

Really nice neighborhood family restaurant with a trendy atmosphere. Decent prices. Friendly staff. Delicious food! Went there for a friend’s birthday. Must try the build your own pizza. Chicken parm was devine! Dee’s signature salmon was delish with curried fries. Skirt steak was also delish. Will definately return!

Dee’s is phenomenal. Great food at a fair price. Always friendly service, and have never been disappointed with the experience. I had Courtney today as a server for lunch and she was extremely attentive to our party. I will be definitely going back regularly.

Dee’s is a restaurant that specializes in brick-oven pizzas and Mediterranean cuisine. Upon entering, you’ll notice the restaurant is elegant, yet family and group friendly. It seems like an excellent place to have an intimate date or celebrate a birthday with a large group. The food is very good and the menu is full of variety; from an assortment of pizzas to a significant collection of entrees. I recommend the bruschetta pizza. I think their food is rather pricey, though. I have gone to other great restaurants in the area that serve the same type of food for a lower price. I’m assuming they charge more for their ambience? Not sure. In any case, the restaurant is very nice and the food is good, but Dee’s could be better if their prices matches their location and the type of food served.

I have been coming to this restaurant for over ten years. It is by far one of my favorite local spots in Forest Hills. The service is incredible especially from one particular male waiter. He is attentive, personable, and always excellent at helping one decide what to order. Aside from the service, the food is delicious. The focaccia bread is amazing, as well as the Mediterranean mix, the burrata special with pesto and cherry tomatoes, and the meatballs. Any entry is spectacular but my sister and I love their salads with chicken or steak. I highly recommend dees!

Dee’s serves up some pretty good Italian food. I sampled the focaccia bread, the calamari, hummus, and lasagna. I had no complaints about anything I tried. For my main course, I had a customized personal pizza starting with Dee’s famous dough and topped with ricotta cheese, plum tomato sauce, Armenian basterma, and fresh arugula. All the ingredients were good and came together well. I though the basterma was an interesting offering that I haven’t seen elsewhere. It’s analogous to a cooked Italian speck or prosciutto. The service is friendly and attentive. All in all, Dee’s offers a great experience.

Ordered: Lasagna Pros – The ingredients used were clearly fresh and the dish was served piping hot. I got to sample a few appetizers which were incredible as well. The focaccia bread with mozzarella was soft and the cheese seemed to have a hint of a ricotta flavor. The calamari had a great breading and once I dipped it in the red sauce and added some lemon juice… perfection.

Love this place! Great spot for dinner — on a date, for groups, or just a night out for some good food. I’ve been here twice — once with about 12 coworkers and another time with 8 family members. The food, service, and experience was great both times. From what I can remember, everyone was happy with their food — from appetizers, salads, pastas, and pizza. Dee’s Fettuccine & Shrimp is so good — huge plate, I loved it. One thing I was a bit unhappy about was the salad with skirt steak strips. While the salad itself was good(I think I had the tri-color salad), there was just so little skirt steak, it was almost impossible to taste it. Everyone loved their brick oven pizzas — you can see them making it and all of the pizzas were generously topped and delicious. Desserts and drinks were good as well. Service was quick and attentive. I will definitely be returning here.

A friend and I stopped in tonight for dessert and Dee’s did not disappoint. The Bourbon Pecan Tart was served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was sweet and tasted fresh. There was a little dollop of butter on top instead of crème fraîche or whipped cream, which was odd. My accompanying cappuccino was perfect. I sampled my friend’s Almond Tiramisu, which was delightful – sweet and creamy with a noticeable but not overpowering almond flavor. The bathrooms were teeny tiny and had the smallest little sinks I’ve ever seen in my life. Unfortunately, it seems like no one had cleaned them today as there were mounds of crumpled toilet paper all over the floors and the toilet was dirty.

Do you love pizza? Pasta? Burgers?! Well if you’re on metro, this place is for you. Dees is great for families, dates, anything at all. They’ve expanded in the pasts few years to accommodate and they’ve done a pretty good job with furnishing the place they’ve expanded. The pizza is super good– highly recommend ordering for an appetizer or a meal because of how good the crust and the cheese is! The pasta is also wonderful. I had the rigatoni and shrimp with a very light tomato sauce but that allowed for full enjoyment of the al dente pasta and interesting add of the broccoli. Lasagna was also very delicious! Their applewood bacon burger is also very good and thin fries are always to die for. Would certainly visit again and recommend to anyone in the area!

Wow, this place has been open for 20 years now, shit, I am old. I remember coming here during my college years, I remember coming here when they recently moved from the old location a few blocks down. The setup is actually really nice, it’s very sleek and contemporary. It’s not a place you«have» to dress up but you should definitely look presentable. I have been here a hand full of times and I have to say it’s always been a great addition to the neighborhood. The food: The Four Seasons– Fresh Mozzarella, Plum Tomato Sauce, Kalamata Olives, Artichoke, Portabella Mushrooms and Pepperoni. This is my hands down fav pie here. It’s excellent on so many levels from the olives to artichoke to the really good pepperoni they use. Argentine Style Skirt Steak– grilled skirt steak, chimichurri, french fries and vegetables. A friend was telling me how much he enjoyed this dish and the dish was great. The steak was nice and tender and the chimi was a nice accompaniment to the dish. Cavatelli, Broccoli Rabe & hot sausage– in a browned butter sauce. I thought this was a solid dish, it doesn’t exactly blow you away with flavor but it has a nice flavor profile. Everything works well together but I feel it was missing a tad of something. But my friend really enjoyed it since she polished off the entire dish and half my steak, sooo

Mmmmkay so my initial review was not so accurate if based on tonight’s dinner. The food IS memorable. In fact it was quite delicious. I hadn’t expected to enjoy skirt steak here, but it was perfectly cooked and tender enough to slice through with my butter knife. It wasn’t what I ordered but I did somehow end up eating half of it… Cavatelli with spicy sausage and broccoli rabe — let’s suffice it to say I finished the entire plate without eating the plate itself. All of it. Their portions are not, by any means, small and as I am typing up this review, the amount of food I ate is threatening to choke me… We did end up making it to the restaurant with barely 15 minutes to spare before the kitchen was closing — great service without the brush off even though we over-stayed our welcome long past what was obviously their normal Sunday business hours. Kudos to Dee’s and I will definitely be making my way over more often.
