Jesse was amazing. Helped us choose some really good flavors. Loved the hookah. Definitely coming back.

Really like the place, it’s cozy and spacious. They have no alcohol drinks but their rose chai tea was fantastic. They also have a punch card system for those who smoke hookah often. Buy 7 get 1 free. They have borad games/card games for more entertainment and fun with friends.

I am in love with Desert Rain! This will definitely be my go-to spot to relax. I went there alone last night and from the moment I walked in, I felt I was at home. I was offerred great choices by Jessie and was checked on several times during my visit. Enough times to know they hadn’t forgot about me, but not to the point where it became annoying. Really, really great staff members, the best I’ve come across in a while and I am hoping I can make it back tonight. Super chill atomosphere, comfy seating, and the high backs of the booths offer privacy. The hookah was delicious as well. Very smooth and quite strong. I had only pulled twice before I began to feel completely relaxed, much needed after a long work week. Thanks Desert Rain for a great experience! See you soon!

This is one of the best spots to go to. They always come to check on you to make sure the coal isn’t burned, they also provide games to keep you entertained. It’s really a chill place if you want to go somewhere if you want to relax. When we went we actually requested to mix the Peach and Guava flavors they recommend to add mint to the mix to. Can hosnetly say the mix came out great and I don’t even like mint. One of the workers said it was a new request but he was happy with the outcome. I would defiantly recommend.

A friend recommended this spot to me, so me and my boyfriend decided to make the trip here. To start off, I must say the seating arrangement here is amazing! They have small booths for small groups(2 – 3 people), big booths for larger groups(5 – 6 people) and even bigger seating area for larger groups. My only COMPLAINT would be that the location itself looks very worn down. The cushions are done, the wall paint is cracking off and the pillows are old and not comfortable. I understand it may be hard to get the walls painted, but the least they can do is get the cushions replaced and get new pillows. The hookah was phenomenal, we had the strawberry margarita mixed with something else. It was smooth, it pulled well and lasted long. Our server(I believe her name was Rebecca) was such a sweetheart. She was attentive and friendly. She kept checking in on us in the least annoying way possible. My boyfriend actually forgot his phone here and she was nice enough to keep it safely till we got back! All in all, if you’re sick of being a steinway local bird, I would definitely recommend you make the trip here!

The reviews for this place is a joke. This place treated me and my family so disgusting just because my sister doesn’t do hookah there was 5 other ppl who was doing hookah. The lady was so nasty with us every time we asked a question she would answer us with a attitude like if we was annoying her with our questions. After a few minutes me and my family decided to cancel our order and just leave we didn’t want to spend our money here. I guess if your not there kind they don’t treat you well!

Mixed feelings about this lounge. The hookah is great and the staff are super friendly and make you feel very comfortable. My only complaint is that it looks so run down on the exterior. As far as the interior is concerned, it def could use some cleaning and newer seating. Again, really good hookah. Just needs some maintenance.

My favorite hookah spot. The best service you’ll receive anywhere. They are constantly making sure your hookah is perfect. I don’t think I’ve ever had to call to change my coals since they’re always on top of everything. Great selection of flavors and the seating lets you smoke and relax comfortably. Awesome spot to chill.

Big fan of the hookah here. their tobacco flavors are good(not sure if they use Al Fakhr– from what i heard most places can’t use that brand because of some regulations that dont allow certain of its ingredients. dont quote me on this tho-just heresay). They do not sell alcohol here but I dont mind since I dont drink alcohol when smoking hookah. Prices are very reasonable and the service is great.

Not a huge fan of hookah, but this place was alright. Their venue is nice and right off the highway. We had several things but their peach flavor was kind of average and very light. Nothing too special but staff wasn’t scummy. They are youngsters but they are very salesy trying to sell things to us.

It is a really relaxed hookah spot, if you go during the week nights and early weekends. They have a hookah happy hour from 4−7pm. I personally love the flavor combinations that they offer, such as: Superman, Jolly Rancher, and Princess Peach. They have a wide range of flavors that you can mix and match. The employees are hookah people themselves so if you ask them they can always give you a honest opinion on what might go well together. It is a cozy lounge. That being said, if you do not want to wait to smoke hookah, it is probably best to go during week nights and early weekends. After 1AM on the weekends are usually pretty packed.

Absolutely love it here. The first time I came here was on a date with my now husband. It was a quiet Tuesday night. The hookah was great, the staff was very friendly and attentive. I’ve come back about a dozen times since then and on busy Saturday nights — pleased to say a crowd does not cause the staff to get flustered nor does the service suffer. The entire staff takes pride in their hookah skills and makes sure that you’re fully satisfied before they leave your table. The décor is awesome, you can tell they put thought into what was going in to their establishment. I love their couches! So many hookah lounges just have regular tables w boring restaurant, straight back chairs. The environment is super calm and theres not a bunch of kids running around — very mature crowd. They check IDs religiously. Love it here. VERY close to Queens College as well.

It’s has such a welcoming vibe ! I love it , Ps I live an hour away(it’s worth the trip)

I was excited to try out this place based on the reviews, I’m upset that the reviews weren’t accurate. I purchased a Groupon for this place which included 2 hookahs, 2 appetizers, and 4 drinks. My issues started when we sat down. We were given a hookah menu and a drink menu, when I asked about the food they said«we don’t serve food anymore because we are trying to get a liquor license» What??? Why have a Groupon that offers food if you no longer serve food?(False advertising) Other than the false advertising on groupon, the place looks nice. They have private booths and an outdoor space. They make fruit smoothies and tea, no liquor. The hookah is good and comes in a lot of different flavors. They also do things like the ice pipe and milk or red bull base. The staff is very friendly here. They also gave us substitutions for the missing components of the groupon. Overall, I probably won’t return because it is a bit far. Also, I like the option of ordering food(not delivery) when I’m going to spend over an hour at a hookah bar. Anyone in the area should check it out, it’s a cool spot.

If you’re considering this place, hands down I will tell you go. Food is awesome, the new owner is out of this world the nicest person you’ll meet, and the staff is exceptionally so courteous and outstanding. If you’re wondering why I am telling you to go, just scroll down and keep reading. I’ve been here before when it was under older management and a different name, but in the past week I’ve came with friends and under new management and their new name, «Desert Rain», and I have to say I was honestly really impressed. The one thing I always liked about this location was the privacy between booths I guess you would call them and how you and your group are private in your own sections almost. We had a Groupon we found online and they honored it no problem at all. A gentlemen asked us for ID upon arrival and greeted us so friendly. Sat us down quickly as there was no wait at that moment. Had tons of awesome recommendations to suggest and mixes to supply. How I know these people are genuine was when he introduced me to the owner a young lady, she said to me, «No those don’t mix well with a pineapple head. Let’s try something else it’s gonna burn and it won’t taste well and you want a great experience.» I couldn’t tell you how much more shocked I was because nowadays everyone’s out to make money. This girl, was the total opposite. She was so genuine and real and her mix was honestly one of the best yet. We also ordered chicken tenders, and mozzarella sticks and wow they were delicious. Not cheap, tacky food. The chicken tenders were some of the best I’ve had yet and all I eat is chicken tenders and fries. We had sex on the beach in one hookah no fruit head, and vanilla with something in our pineapple head with ice hoses. Their ice hoses also last a very long time unlike the Mystique Ice Hose and your hookah coal is changed constantly and they always come around asking if you need anything. Parking is not too bad at night and you can park on Ascan Avenue and walk it’s very close. Seriously, I cannot wait to be back in New York City so I can go to Desert Rain again. I highly recommend especially going to so many hookah bars in Queens, this is one of my favorites now. Thank you for a great experience! See you in December.

Love this place! I wasn’t always a fan of hookah bc I found them to be harsh but I guess that’s Bc I didn’t find the right place to enjoy it, well now I found it. The atmosphere is so chill and fun. You walk in and you’re greeted like an old buddy by the entire staff. Other hookah places I’ve been to are so stuffy full of smoke and sometimes too warm that you get dizzy with all the various smells. Coming here feels well ventilated so you can enjoy your own Hookah and not feel overwhelmed by other people’s hookahs . Hookah flavors are so yummy and even for the beginner hookah enthusiast you’ll find something to love. Great music plays throughout you visit from hip-hop, techno, bachata, and top 40. You can smoke n dance at the same time. Food is really good too. I love the lamb gyro and mozzarella sticks. If you come definitely have tried Oreos! Yummmmm Overall great time here and I can see this being a regular hang spot! I live on Long Iland and this place is so enjoyable that I don’t mind driving out to Queens!

Giving this place a 3.5 stars rating. I went here with a friend and we were seated immediately. We decided on strawberry-mint with milk added. The workers attended to us in a timely manner and professionally. We ordered the fried Oreos and mozzarella sticks. The fried Oreos were a yummy treat, definitely satisfied our sweet tooth. My friend exclaimed that the mozzarella sticks were amazing. When we initially arrived, the TVs were all on a news channel… how lame for a hookah lounge. The TV channel was later changed to funny/prank videos… better than the news. The genres of music(hip hop & rap) being played was odd. My friend was really cold though, we were seated in the 2nd to last small booth in the back & she kept her sweater on the whole time. I’m not sensitive to the cold, but 40 minutes later, I felt the chills too & it was uncomfortable! The small booth next to us complained to a worker about the temperature & he said that the back door was open because the people in the front complained of it being too warm. Wouldn’t one open the front door if the front section is warm then?! The worker also didn’t bother to close the door so for the rest of the time we were there it was absolutely cold… mind you, it was 19 degrees F that night. Overall, the workers were attentive to us, but the freezing cold atmosphere inside made it difficult to have a completely carefree time with my friend. The music playlist could have had better selections, but to each their own, I reckon. Props to the workers that took care of us… there were a few different guys, but they were all helpful(besides the one who didn’t close the darn back door!).

I wanted to go to a new hookah lounge in Queens and after reading the Unilocal reviews, I gave this one a try and I was not disappointed at all. Service: The staff was super helpful and attentive. We got our coals changed multiple times and we didn’t have to ask(which at most hookah lounges is the norm). Our waiter made sure we had everything we needed and was friendly and great. We even got $ 3 off as a «thank you» for coming. When it came to choosing a hookah, he helped us and answered all questions that we had. Food: We received the complimentary fried oreos after checking in which were AMAZING.(I mean– can anyone ever say no to fried oreos?!) I cannot really attest to any other options as we didn’t end up getting anything else. Hookah: AMAZING! The hookah flavor we got was really smooth and pulled well. It was not harsh at all. We ended up staying for about 2 hours and the hookah was still pulling as smooth as if we just got it. I recommend sticking with milk as the base as this helps it pull smoother and using pineapple for the head so the flavor lasts long. Overall: I definitely am coming back here. Everyone was friendly and the hookah was great. Possibly my new favorite hookah lounge in Queens?

Yes, that is one star. Unfortunately I did not have the opportunity to give a 5 star rating like my counterparts. I stopped by & was ignored. There was no acknowledgement whatsoever from the host. He saw me come in. He watched me look around in confusion yet he still did not acknowledge me. At least let me know you’ll be right with me. I walked in & walked right back out. Clearly customer service is not their forte. I overheard a woman telling her party, «We have to wait because there’s a party going on & they don’t have any tables.» First off it was not crowded there were at least 6 booths available. This place should really be called Desert because it’s dry. I don’t understand the hype from my fellow Unilocalies. It’s located in the middle of «West Bubble… Watch Yo Mouth». Another thing that disturbed me is that the«kitchen» is in the front of the vicinity. As soon as you crack open the entrance door towards your right there is the makeshift kitchen. I don’t want to see you making my food. I don’t want to see your apron nor the grease stains on your shirt. Another thing that made me flip my top was the announcement of not having any liquor. Supposedly they’re waiting a couple weeks for their liquor license. This place did not just open up. Shouldn’t that have been taken care of prior to opening?

I’ve been to a lot of hookah places but this one just has a great atmosphere with great hookah. Everyone is very friendly and eager to please.(You’ll always see Mary or Aziz). Whatever you need they will try to accommodate. You can come with a big group or just stop by to have some chill time alone and still feel like you got your moneys worth. They come by regularly to change coals and make sure your hookah is perfect and if its not, they won’t hesitate to fix it or change it. They have the best hookah I’ve ever had, always smooth and pulls hard. They have ice hoses, fruit heads, milk bases, everything you need for great smoke. The atmosphere is awesome. Music playing, everybody is friendly and talkative. They have cards, board games, and PLAYSTATION. Definitely a good time, time and time again.
