Key lime Muffins were amazing but breakfast was just ok. Waitress was a little«snippy»

Muffins are an excuse to eat cake for breakfast. A very good excuse. This place was wonderful! We came here twice for our weekend on Key Largo. This place is the perfect greasy spoon diner with huge portions, great prices, and even better muffins. We had no problems with service. On a Saturday, we got there at eight and didn’t have a wait. It quickly filled up afterwards, though. On Monday morning, no problems. Get the country benny and the omelettes, they’re great!

If anyone give this place anything but 5 stars they need to have there head examined. Only joking. This place is a florida must do. Hard to find if you blink you will drive right past it. The best is the muffins. You have to try the pineapple upside down one. The staff are the nicest people and embody the spirit of the keys. Check it out be ready to wait as they always have a packed house.

We ate breakfast at Harriette’s the first morning of our week-long New Year getaway. My lady tasted. .. well, devoured. .. the key lime muffin. If I had a nickel for every time I heard«key lime muffin» the rest of that week, it would’ve easily paid my toll on the Florida Turnpike. Not sure if «deprivation of key lime muffin» is grounds for divorce, but I wasn’t pushing that particular envelope. She got her muffin. .. and you should too!

If you’re looking for a family-style diner, this is absolutely the place. I was greeted with a smile and a cup of coffee, and sat down to a bar that was fully stocked with homemade muffins and bakery goods. All of the waitresses were very attentive and incredibly friendly. I had a breakfast sandwich that was outstanding, you could tell all of the ingredients are fresh You can tell Harriette’s is a local hangout, but everyone welcomed me with a smile. Hands down 10/10, so happy I stopped here! Definitely coming back every time!

I wasn’t terribly in to my conch burger. It was a bit to oily for me. But I’m going with 4 stars on the strength of their biscuits(served with local honey!). They make an incredible biscuit and you should get it, perhaps with gravy on top.

I was wrong. Well, maybe things of changed in the last 15 years/10 years since I’ve been here. Maybe they had a string of bad days when we went there in the beginning. But we decided to try them again recently and they were awesome. There muffins are exceptional. You do have to try to Keylime muffin. I had the eggs Florentine and I would have preferred the spinach be cooked or wilted. And the pancakes were just OK. But the hashbrowns are great, everybody’s egg dishes were great and the muffins are really something to write home about.

Come for the breakfast, but stay for the muffins. I would have probably given this place 2 stars. The food was nothing out of this world. Very ordinary if you ask me. But the key lime muffin. I am still dreaming about this key lime muffin! Totally worth the drive to this place to get them. And they have all different kinds of muffins too! Great to take them to go. Other than that, the place is cramped and nothing really to write home about when it comes to their other breakfast items. I haven’t tried their lunch though. Maybe this review will be edited when I head back there. ;)

My husband and I decided to stop by for breakfast on our way south down the keys. The place was very busy and it was difficult to find parking. The restaurant is very small and homey on the inside. I was a little peeved that we walked in before another party of 2 and somehow they were seated before us… Don’t know how that happened. I had read about everyone raving about the muffins but for whatever reason I decided not to get one today. My husband ordered the corn beef hash and I got biscuits and gravy. The food was OK but not great. There do not seem to be a lot of options for traditional breakfast places around this area. My biscuit and gravy was a little rich, but that is to be expected. Portions are huge and I could not finish all of my food. Their biscuits were amazing so I really think their strong suit is baking. I would come back again if I needed to hit up a quick breakfast in the area. The service was great, very attentive and food all came out very quickly.

Our stop here was one of our surprise highlight’s of our trip. While a place locals frequent, everybody was extremely warm and welcoming to us obvious tourist. After Miami, the great service was a very welcome change. So the key lime muffin is a given, don’t question that decision. Now don’t make the mistake we made and get the other flavors to go as we’ll cause once you try the key lime you’ll spend all day thinking about what the other flavors are going to be. The conch burger was great but what harriette’s does better than even pricy restaurants is their seasoned fries. I’mma say it again, «season fries» to die for. Don’t miss out on this spot as you travel the keys.

The key lime muffins are a life changer. Like seriously. You’ll struggle to remember what your life was like before you tasted these sweet, but tart, bites of heaven. To eat I had a chili omelette. The chili was so delicious! I found myself wishing I had just gone straight for a bowl of that, but I felt like that might be weird for breakfast… guess I had to trick myself into thinking I was having breakfast food lol. Also came with a large fluffy biscuit; a good standard southern biscuit. Stop and eat if you can. If not, get some muffins to go!

It’s definitely that mom and pop diner that blows most chains, such as Denny’s or IHOP, out of the water. The service was great! We ordered to go, but the waitress treated me like I was dining in. Sat me at the bar, asked if I wanted water, engaged me in conversation. It was a busy morning too. For a small place, they did a good job utilizing the space and seating as many as possible. Good people makes good food even better! I love people that have a passion for whatever it is they’re doing, especially in the service industry. To embody the meaning of selfless service… It’s not easy. We had a short stack of pancakes, the spinach and provolone cheese omelette(added ham) and their home made chocolate key lime muffin. All worthy of praise… Even after a 10 minute drive back to the hotel. Enjoy!

A pleasant, spirited little roadside grease pit where you can experience the beginnings of coronary artery disease in a tightly packed shack. There’s enough calories, butter, and fat here to knock down a linebacker. Key Lime muffins are super sweet and filling, and the honey on their home made biscuits was quite good too. I can’t recommend the corn beef hash, though – I think that was Spam in ours. Evidence that location is always key, this is one of a few breakfast spots in this part of Key Largo. The staff is friendly and helpful, too. There’s always a big line here as well – so be prepared to wait.

Man oh man. Please stop by here before going south of the keys. Location: In Key Largo, the first keys before Key West. The parking lot is small and this place gets packed for good reason, inside and out. People were waiting outside. Staff: Although, I have read reviews that their server was nice. I cannot say the same. She was not rude l, but she was an older woman that wasn’t attentive nor have personality. I have had worse experiences. Food: Affordable breakfast(comfort food) The warm fluffy biscuits with honey, is great. We took two muffins home. The key limes pie muffin and banana walnut. They were great. Overall: I would go here before waffle house. Sorry waffle house, you have competition.

This place would be 5-stars, but for one reason it’s 4, but we’ll get to that later. Everything is handmade; the orange juice, the biscuits, the muffins, and even the conch benedict. The key lime muffin was amazing, it tasted like key lime pie. I don’t even like muffins. The biscuits are huge and come to the table warm. There strong suit is obviously baking. Service is great and quick, but you have to get there early to avoid waiting, we walked right in and sat down both timesa we went because we go there right before 8. The one thing that kept them from being 5-stars is the frozen, McDonald’s hashbrown. Everything is made perfectly from scratch and the one corner you are going to cut is the hasbrowns. I’ll definitely go anytime I am in Key Largo, but I’ll try to substitute something for the hashbrowns.

This is for breakfast alone. I have dined here twice and both times have been delicious. It’s not getting 5 stars because the wait can be long and the service a little in the slow side. Hey, but it’s island time right?!

This isn’t going to be a long review, because it doesn’t need to be. Three things to know: 1. The staff is SUPER friendly. 2. The food is hot and fresh and pretty quick(especially when considering that all of South Florida seems to operate on «Miami Time» — that is, hella slow.) 3. KEYLIMEPIEMUFFINS. They’re served hot. And covered in powdered sugar. And huge. Oh, and they’re AMAZING. We found this place based on a Unilocal search and the reviews had us hooked. We were intrigued by the concept of a key lime pie muffin. It didn’t disappoint. We wanted to stop on our way back to Miami, but they were closed by that point. Make the stop. It’s literally right alongside the highway, and the muffin alone was worth it.

I can only comment on key lime muffins. These were highly recommended, but not my favorites. They are a big size and very tasty, but maybe not the best muffins I have had. I was very glad to have picked these up for takeout and not dined in. I am by no means an OCD person but this restaurant wasn’t exactly enticing. They have an old green carpet that has probably been there for more than 15 years, and looks like it has accumulated all kinds of food from the past 15 years. I get the whole homey vibe and serving soul food, and I love it, but in a clean atmosphere.

Our flight departed Chicago at 6AM then several hours drive from Fort Lauderdale airport. It was definitely time for a well– deserved breakfast and Harriette’s did not disappoint. The diner is marvelously offbeat, in the grandmother’s vinyl kitchen kind of way. Just like grandma’s kitchen though, the food is perfect. The service is also a wonderful experience. It’s like eating at a friends house, if your friend knows how to cook the perfect breakfast. The omelettes were large and fresh. The spinach was local and fresh. The ice tea was brewed and fresh. Yep, I got french fries with my omelette. Yum Yum Yum. Do not hesitate to visit for breakfast on your way to the Florida Keys!

It was awesome. The cheeseburger with bacon was incredible, the muffins too, and everything was cheap. The service was fast and the staff super kind. Would def recommend it to anyone passing by the keys

Absolutely amazing. We were a group of 11 people looking for traditional breakfast on the way to the keys, and found Harriette’s on the way. As soon as you step in, you can feel that this is a traditional and family business. Everything on the menu was amazing, pancakes are great, burgers are to die for, and to top this, the muffins are simply out of this world. Key lime pie is also excellent. Everybody in our 11 group was super happy with what they ate, although the food is pretty heavy. But who cares, when it’ so good …
