I really had fun here, loved the live music, food and cool vibe next to the waterfront. Friendly service and relaxed vibe. Dog friendly, saw 3 doggies sitting at the bar. :)

My second visit tonight a year later. Love this place. Excellent wings. Waitress from Wyoming was very attentive. Band was damn good.

The beautiful view onto the water tries to distract from the underwhelming food but be assured it still tastes horrible. I had the conch chowder(too hot & spicy which wasn’t mentioned before) as well as the oyster & shrimp combo. My equally suffering wife went with the crab cakes.

I’m so glad we managed to stop in for a bite and a drink. A few locals had told us that this was the chill spot but during our busy schedule we almost missed. Atmosphere was laid back; think a backyard patio, with an assortment of umbrellas and wooden patio structures. The service was quick and friendly and it seemed like the servers were having a great time. They had live music, provided by a local fixture, Michael McCloud; worth a listen! We ordered the Ahi Nachos and a Mahi Mahi Sandwich. The Nachos were so unique! Super crispy crackers with great seasoning on the Ahi and a very generous portion. The Mahi Mahi sandwich had a huge portion of fish as well. Both were served on paper plates, compounding the backyard feel. I ordered a mojito, which was deliciously strong but a little sweet. I got a few more limes to squeeze in and it was perfect! It was a great little spot, my only regret is that I didn’t get a CD from Michael McCloud… Guess I’ll have to go back!

Some tasty drinks on the menu. Yes, the mojitos feature real mint. Oysters were decent, and decently priced. Brenda at the bar always served with a smile. Made you feel very welcome. Nice place to end the evening as the outdoor section allows for sea breezes to cool patrons after a long hot day. Also check out Frank’s Magic Bar in the indoor section for some mind blowing card tricks and sleight of hand.

No service = 1 star. We asked if we could sit upstairs for lunch. The sever said no problem! We waited a good 15 minutes without service. Another couple waiting for service left as well shortly before us. Disappointing!

This was such a nice place to wind down during sunset time and get some great food. We sat upstairs which gave us a beautiful view of the marina. It’s also much quieter than downstairs, which is exactly what we wanted. We ordered the fried coconut shrimp appetizer and the mahi dinner entrée. The coconut shrimp tasted delicious, though I found that the shrimp wasn’t completely«clean». I am no seafood expert so I left it at that. The mahi dinner entrée was absolutely delicious! It is «cuban marinated» — the flavor was out of this world! The mahi was so tender and perfect. The rice and beans where ok, I kind of just ignored the sides because they weren’t amazing. The service was wonderful and the live music was great. Great vibes, great mahi, would love to return.

Fried shrimp and the mahi platter were both delicious. Only bumping down one star for the paper plates and one shrimp that wasn’t fully cleaned out.

One of the best places to visit if you are in the area. There’s live music, amazing food and of course, the sunset! Come visit this place!

Super fun! Went on a night with great musicians. The crowd was happy and the bar has a hippie, happy-go-lucky vibe. Drinks weren’t too pricey either. $ 9.75 for a local draft and a corona.

Yeah, my review for this place isn’t going to differ much than anyone elses. But if you’re here to read then DOSTOPBY. + Live music is always a plus + As you can tell from the pictures the Ahi Tuna Nachos are a MUST. + Drinks were cheap and plentiful. + If you want to avoid the crowdedness on the bottom level, grab a seat on the top deck to have more privacy and a great view of the Wharf. So thankful for seeing this place pop up on Unilocal! It made me visit the Wharf just to get to this restaurant and I thoroughly enjoyed walking through the piers, seeing all the boats, different restaurants and people, spotting the giant Tarpons in the docks and especially the most fresh seafood.

I’m gonna give this place a big ‘ol NOPE. The service was bad(slow, orders wrong, indifferent). But also, the food was just ‘OK’ my biggest gripe was the black bean dip which was literally lukewarm black beans with cheese sprinkled on top. What? The drink specials weren’t comparable to neighboring places, and thank good ness we sat away from the stage area(too loud, poor sound quality, and not great music). Hard Pass.

Recommended. This is a great place to sit for drinks and listen to music in downtown Key West. It’s close to the docks, colorful, and full of artsy stuff. Since Cuba is only 90 miles away you’ll find, as with many places in this area, a small concessionaire selling Cuban cigars. Take a look at the photo we’ve uploaded for more information. Musician Mike McCloud has been playing there for 37-years and has a strong, loyal group of followers. Frankly, given his performances, we can’t understand why. But’s all part of the charm of Key Weird.

We come here two or three times every year we vacation in KW. We love the atmosphere, they have a decent selection of draft beer and the food is tasty and fresh. The service is friendly without fail and we are starting to appreciate hat more and more around this town– the service can really set you apart from the hundreds of other bars & restaurants here, many of which seem to be staffed with folks who either never cared in the first place or are just over it. I’m sure it gets tiring dealing with a lot of tourism and getting stiffed half the time but those of you that carry on with a smile despite it all really make the difference. Keep up the good work :-)

Stopped in here to have a few beers and people watch. This place is a total dive bar but in a good way. It is also right on the water so you can’t go wrong with the view and surroundings. I did not eat here but what I am seeing pn the other reviews looks pretty good so will have to do that next time.

Discovered this place thanks to watching Drinking Made Easy a couple years back, had it on our to-do list for when we finally made it to Key West. This turned out to be one of our favorite places! Came here 3 out of the 4 days we were here. Laid back atmosphere, lots of locals with tourists mixed in. Right on the water, live music, good food. Ordered the shrimp and chips and it was great! Ordered it two more times after. Hubby fell in love with the buffalo shrimp. Sit down at the bar and meet new people, it’s fun. You never know who you may meet.

Was looking for a quick bite and somewhere I’d never been in Key West. After using Unilocal and seeing Marqus R’s review I figured I would give it a shot. It’s mostly an outdoor place with a true Key West vibe. I ordered clam chowder and calamari. The clam chowder was good but served with regular crackers not oyster crackers. The calamari was perfectly fried. My boyfriend had a Mahi Melt. A huge sandwich with tons of fries. He enjoyed it as well. His son had chicken tenders– he’s not into seafood unless it’s Tilapia. We were in a hurry to get somewhere so we didn’t get to enjoy a cocktail or the band that was setting up. However, the vibe was awesome and would definitely go back to try more menu items and sip on cocktails. My only constructive criticism was the bathroom was more like an outhouse. A shack really. It was tiny and my knees hit the stall door. A port o potty is bigger and cleaner.

Tellement typique!

Came to this spot to try out their oysters. Not exactly the best place for it, divey bar atmosphere with local barflies getting drunk at 1130am. You walk in and stand around till you realized that no one is going to hand you menus or take you to your table, you just have to do it on your own. Getting the server’s attention is another story. The shrimps we ordered were not fresh at all, they were frozen and tasted nothing like gulf shrimps. Oysters were so so. Waste of $$.

The Sun just set in Key West so after doing a tour of the restaurants along the water in this area of Key West we decided to grab a table at Schooners. That is literally what you do. you need to walk around the place to try to find any open table you can find or grab a seat at the bar. We find a table near the bar and the waitress brings over some menus. We decide to order some drinks, oysters and tuna nachos. After our drinks the oysters come out and they are pretty good — tasty and meaty. The tuna nachos are a generous portion of sushi grade tuna, along with seaweed salad and other toppings. We really enjoyed these and thought it was good deal for the price. I didn’t like that there was smoking here — I guess I didn’t notice it at other places in the keys, but it was very crowded and smokers were everywhere. I guess I’ve gotten so used to where it is banned in most places I go to. Never the less, the service was good, the place was old school divey, the music and vibe were fun, the food was very good and fresh, the drinks nice and strong. Another good place to party in the Keys!

Jederzeit wieder!
