Love this place, so happy to have a creative health food shop like this in Kihei. Get the Indo crunch Wrap, very flavorful! Also try out their selection of desserts, some are made vegan/vegetarian and others have just regular ingredients which is awesome because this place apples to all. Can’t wait to go back!

Super good healthy food! Ate lunch here and it was superb. I had the BLT and it was so tasty. I also got a vegan brownie for dessert. Can’t wait to try new things!

I really enjoyed the smoothies and GF tuna sandwich. Both SO delicious! I did try a GF/Vegan cheesecake though and got so incredibly sick that night. I’m not sure what the problem was but my guess is that it was whatever the crust was made out of. I’ll definitely go back for the sandwich when I’m in Kihei again, but will skip the dessert.

I tried the Green Power smoothie and added ginger and rice protein powder. It was so tasty and satisfying! Super good on a sensitive stomach.

You oughta try the live burrito supreme. Amazing. the salsa was just perfect! The coconut cheesecake was heavenly :) I have never eaten anything like that. I wish I knew some place place near home that made the same coconut cheesecake! The Indo crunch wrap was good too! A great place for vegetarians!

I love Joy’s Place! I wish I discovered it sooner. I’ve been driving all the way to Haiku for Maui Kombucha, Pa’ia for Makena by Mana or Kahului for Alive and Well. I live in Kihei and driving out that far has always been a hassle for me but Joy’s Place is right down the street from me and ever since I discovered it, I’ve been going there almost every day! Friendliest staff ever. I love going to Joy’s when Carrie and Elaine are working. They make me feel like family every time I stop by. Elaine is such an amazing chef. I’ve been bringing all my friends here for breakfast and lunch. I’ve never been a fan of chili and I LOVE their chili here! The chili deluxe is so filling and perfect for lunch. I love it with cashew cheese. Their grilled cheese special is one of my faves. I gave this place 4 stars(although they deserve 5) because the last time I stopped in for brunch with my friend, there was a man ringing us up(I think he was the owner), and he got upset about a customer that impatiently walked out and started reprimanding the staff in front of me and my friend, right by the register. My friend felt so uncomfortable that she wanted to leave but I made her stay with me and told her to ignore it but he continued to make a fuss about it. It was extremely uncomfortable and unprofessional and I felt it was unnecessary to react that way when Carrie is always so great. Other than that, Joy’s Place is definitely worth stopping in! And if you’re ever feeling sick or feel a cold coming, pick up a immune booster tonic shot and you’ll feel better in no time. They also have great kombucha and vegan options.

Unbelievably fresh and tasty sandwiches. One of the best meals I had in Maui, even compared to some of the fancier restaurants. Also a dream for gluten-free and Celiac Disease copers. They’re more than happy to accommodate with extra preparation. Just delightful.

I so enjoyed going to this small café. It’s sort of hidden, but it is off the main road. Everything is made fresh, but they do have some grab and go items as well. I ordered the Alive Nori Roll, which wasn’t on the menu, but I saw a picture of it on Unilocal and they made it for me. It was absolutely delicious, plus it was perfect for the plane ride home too. I also ordered their Indo Crunch Wrap, which was equally delicious! They also offer some vegan desserts too, so save some room or buy some to enjoy later! If you’re not Vegan, no worries, as they offer meat items as well. This place is perfect anytime of day, so stop by and enjoy some healthy, local food for breakfast or lunch, or maybe an afternoon snack. The staff is so friendly, warm and inviting and the food is so good, you’ll be happy you did! XO

We went to Joy’s Place 3 times in 2 days. They have wonderful, über-healthy and delicious sandwiches, salads, burritos. I had the«Live Burrito» twice! It has sprouts, lettuces, cashew cheese, so yummy and gratifying. My daughters love Joy’s Açai Bowls and my husband couldn’t even finish his breakfast burrito because it was so big and filling. Joy also has local Kombucha and a house made drink called Lemon, ginger juice with sea salt and turmeric, WOW, LOVE.

I like Asian vegan food which is not pretentious and filled with fake chicken soy crap. Ordered: 1) Indo Cruch Wrap — I liked everything about it, felt there was a lot of tempeh in my wrap but it was delicious… refreshing and light. I added some siracha to give it a lil spicy zing — needed that. 2) Veggie Burger — Ridiculously good. 3) Pudding with pineapple(from the fridge section) — yuck, didn’t like that at all. 4) Chocolate mouse — made with Cashews… super yummie; it has the perfect amount to chocolate flavor for my palette without being bitter and drying. 5) 3 Berry Muffin… also good. Joy(I think thats her name. the Asian lady who was quietly making the order) became super chatty and full of life once she found out we were from San Jose, CA; she was totally flirting with our 5 month old baby and he was going wild(very cute… she’s really good at baby talk… i need to learn that… hehe) Loved it!

Yummy vegan. I wish they had more protein choices, tempeh please! Very tasty items. Items are premade sadly not made on the spot

Yummy food and great conversation! The cook was so kind and a pleasure chatting with. My husband got the acai bowl and said it was the best he’s ever had. They blend it with yogurt and it adds a nice creaminess. I enjoyed the breakfast burrito and the berry and greens smoothie(breakfast available all day btw– score). We would definitely pop back in for some good eats and conversation.

Back home in California, I miss the Rice paper rolls and think about them. Will have to go to Maui, just to eat those again.

My husband and I are vegan and we stopped in for a quick and casual lunch. I had the live burrito and the Hawaiian fruit smoothie. Both were exactly what I was craving. Healthy, filling, delicious. My husband had the açai bowl which was also delicious. The service was friendly and fast. It’s a small space but there was enough seating and it was very clean. Would go in a small group. Vegan and meat options alike. So happy to find this place on the island!

Service was great from everyone except the lady at the front(hope that wasn’t Joy) – that woman was either having a bad day or needs to learn a thing or two about customer service. Anyhow, service aside, the food and drink was delightful. Don’t expect any fancy presentation here(or for the packaging to be as earth-friendly as the food), but they’ve got great options for people with allergies/particular food preferences. Oh, I got a pb&j(nom nom) and fruit smoothie. Both were delicious.

Stopped by here for a quick snack. Got their strawberry ginger kombucha on tap. Quite fizzy. Ginger taste is mild. But can taste the strawberries. $ 6.50. The cost of kombucha in Hawaii is quite high in general but this one is quite expensive. Their menu consisted with a lot of health yummy sounding sandwiches. Cost is all hovering above $ 10. You get a choice of bread. We got the side kale salad only and that is in the fridge so it was only ok. Not very fresh tasting. Overall seems like a cute family run café.

Joy’s Place is my healthy nutritious food WONDERLAND. WONDERLAND, I TELLYOU. I was on Maui for 3 days… I ate here 2 of those days. If they were open on a Sunday, it would’ve been 3. I was very sad about that BUT that’s how good it is. Everything I ate was delicious! It’s so hard to find a place that caters to raw nutritious health food and does it so good that you don’t miss that other food. I see why they named it Joy’s Place. Joy can be found here. It’s easy to miss so pay attention. Our GPS told us it was around the corner but good thing my friend spotted the sign as we drove by. It’s a little shop on the bottom floor of an apartment? building right across from a beach park.

This is such a cute mom and pop and a great option for a healthier lunch. Considering my plan is to have Ululani’s every day of my vacation in Maui, I try to eat somewhat healthier for lunch, haha. The turkey avo pesto wrap ideas fresh, tasty and a healthy portion. I shared half with my husband and glad I did. I also tried the acai bowl and it wasn’t as good as others I’ve tried, notably because there is no granola on the bottom and no fruit toppings on the top. Like most places in Maui, very very friendly service.
