this was a stop in our Molokini snorkeling excursion. We did see some fish and turtles but we saw fish and turtles from our shore snorkeling at black rock which was free. So you don’t have to pay to snorkel in Maui to see turtles.

This is no longer called Turtle Town. When we arrived at the location and asked the locals they didn’t know what we were talking about. We matched the pictures from earlier reviews and determined we were in the right place. There’s a great Farmer’s Market which I recommend for fresh fruit. The apple bananas, mangos and papaya were sooo yummy. There’s a beach across the road which makes for a nice yet quick stroll. Nothing too spectacular here but nice people.

This is a review for Turtle Town the spot in the ocean, didn’t know there was a shop. Not sure if this is the proper place to review. We were on the Quicksilver ship for a snorkel adventure. They took us to a spot called Turtle Town which was an offshoot lava finger into the ocean, over a beautiful coral reef. This is a spot were large sea turtles come to get their shells cleaned by birds. When you get off the ship you are instructed not to touch the turtles or any of the living creatures in the sea including the coral reefs. You have to remember the oils on our skin can possibly endanger or kill any of the sea creatures. We swam for about half an hour looking at all the beautiful reefs, sea urchins, fish, & turtles. There was a male and female sea turtle that were swimming around us. We were able to get pictures of the female. You must be careful with swimming around the reefs. Twice I ended up swimming over a shallow reef and into a circle of coral reef. I had to carefully back out of the reef and swim away, only to do it again. My husband also had this experience. We decided to swim further out of the reef and back towards the boat. This is where we encountered the turtle to get the amazing photos. Highly recommend this area for fantastic underwater photo opportunities.

I have gone on many snorkel tours around Maui and this is the best by far! Sue was awesome! Her knowledge of Hawaiian sea life was limitless and exciting. We were guided around Honolua Bay for about 1.5 hours. We saw an amazing array of sea life. An extra bonus was not having to deal with the large herds of people on the snorkel tour boats(AKA tourists traps). It was the best snorkel guide and tour I have ever been on!

My family and I made a visit to this shop and were extremely impressed! We found unique, one-of-a-kind items not found anywhere else on the island. I purchased an awesome turtle necklace, and I am constantly receiving compliments. We look forward to our return to Maui, and we will again stop by Turtle Town! Definitely worth a stop.

I visited this terrific shop and found so many awesome turtle gifts(jewelry, t-shirts, sculptures and artwork) that I had to go back again before leaving Maui. I am looking forward to visiting and shopping there again. I also plan to book a snorkle trip with the lovely people at Turtle Town next time I am in Kihei. Definitely worth the visit! This is the place if you love turtles! Suzanne C. WA

The Turtle Town I know is a fictional swath of nothing in the middle of the Pacific. Trust me, I’m the Duke. This is the Chernobyl of the sea. Nothing to see here, so don’t waste your shillings.
