Just as any other DSW I have been to around the area, extreme solicitation in your face. They really push you to join their loyalty club. Honestly the prices here are just not good, discounted shoe stores at a not discounted price. I only ever come to DSW to buy soft sole non rubbing heel pads, because they are reasonably priced. Today I was approached to join their loyalty club again, I was told I’d receive a $ 10 coupon, fine I joined let’s see if I will ever receive that coupon or when I do receive it, if it’s going to have some serious catch attached to it.

I used to shop here for dress shoes for work. Put it this way I was buying a new pair every 3 months. The men’s dress shoes are cheaply made. DSW get’s the shoes they don’t want to sell at the Mall stores put it that way. The clearance section looks like crap. I started to shop at Macy’s and Nordstrom for my dress shoe’s as I pay a bit more for higher quality product. Most DSW shoe’s you can find at there competitor and it’s like about at the same price point or few dollars difference. The sneakers and running shoe’s for men are all terrible selection’s. Your better off going to Foot locker or Champs sports for your athletic shoes. I think this company should change there concept and go away with Men’s shoes when clearly they all stink. How much margin do they really make with men’s really? What 10% or 15% is my guess nothing to be proud of… Plus the management staff is pretty rude at this location my GF was talked down on a return from one of the Manager ladies. They hate getting returns here. I’ve chatted with friends of friends and all said the same thing…

Can you believe with hundreds of shoes, I didn’t find a sandal I wanted to buy. Tried on several. Just didn’t find one that caught my fancy. Ha

I’m not a huge fan of this location, but stop-in if I’m in the area. It seems to be a smaller location than some, and like another reviewer mentioned — the clearance section is MUCH smaller than most stores. Presentation was normal, and the store seemed clean enough. Associates were friendly whenever they passed by. I do love DSW, it’s just that this location isn’t my fave. There’s just something about it that isn’t as great as other stores. There are so many in there area. I prefer either Linconshire or Vernon Hills.

This DSW has a smaller clearance section than some others in the area, but it is also easier to get to and less hustle-and-bustle than some other locations near by. While the cheap-y section might be a bit more thinned out than the larger stores that have whole clearance rooms(The Glen, for example), the parking lot is much easier to manage, and I’m never in a line more than 2 deep. I may not always find what I’m looking for(gasp!) but this is a solid DSW location.

I went to DSW last Saturday to buy a pair of black shoes to match the height of my walking boot. 2 sales people walked right by me and didn’t offer to help me. Then I went down another isle abd there was Anna. Not only did she find me the right shoes and brought them to me to try on, but she also took the shoes up to the register for me. If Anna was the first sales person I had met @ DSW I would have gave this review 5 stars. To bad the others could not even acknowledge me ad I was limping through the store.
