Amazing place to stay! For TRAVELERS. No maid service, no stuffy receptionist. Just a quaint, home away from home for you and your travel companions. George, the inn keeper is so great!!! Very accommodating, great for food recommendations, etc. He even let my husband Alex in on some of his favorite local surf spots. We utilized the well stocked kitchen(electric grill outside), and beach chairs, bikes and umbrellas. We thoroughly enjoyed the overall vibe of this renovated inn and meeting the other guests. We even used some fresh veggies from George’s garden. If you are a traveler, looking for a authentic OBX experience. look no further.

Thoroughly enjoyed our off season stay. Being the first weekend in November, we had the entire inn to ourselves. George has a nice set up in The Front Porch. The bathroom is small and plenty of hot water. The separate sitting area had a futon sofa, a table that seats 2 and a fridge, microwave and small wet bar sink. Oh, and a mini coffee maker. The queen sized bed was comfy. Ladies, make sure you bring your hairdryer with you! Nice amenities such as the bicycles, grill, little coolers available for guests. The communal kitchen is a great feature and has another full sized microwave and stove and oven plus equipped with dishes, glasses and cookware. We will be back!

Amazing inn. Stayed here with my wife and daughter and had an awesome time. Not only where the grounds amazing but the owner(George) Was a super cool dude. We sat down in the front steps and had a beer while talking about fishing ! The industrial ice machine in the kitchen is great!

The inn is cozy, quaint– but nicely updated, and clean. The owner was available when needed and incredibly friendly on the phone. I can’t think of anything I was left for wanting at the Inn. I loved the backyard and the common full size kitchen was handy. I really loved staying here and out of the 7 or 8 years I’ve been going to the outer banks this place really sticks out as one of the best stays I’ve had.

I was looking for a decent place to stay that was close to the beach. I was concerned about prices because everything else I had seen had been ridiculously high for the type of properties and the conditions of the properties. I then found the Atlantic Street in after a lot of research and called up the owner. I was in desperate need for a place and he had one spot available — I snatched it. When the day arrived when I needed my holiday I drove down to the OBX and waited for George. I was expecting a bit of a wait but was then shocked that he pulled in 30 seconds later(this is good). He gave us a nice tour of the place and told us the history of the property. It was very well maintained and we could tell he put in a lot of work — essentially ripping out the interior and leaving the bones and remodeling the home the way he liked it. We booked the Master Suite. It is well appointed with enough room for our suitcases. There was a TV, Refrigerator, and Microwave which was great as far as convenience goes. The bathroom was well lit and was very functional. I would only caution turning the AC down as it leaves the room very stuffy and muggy. This place allows you close access to the beach(as in a 5 minute walk), complete use of amenities which include the stove, pots and pans, silverware, ice machine — basically all of your kitchen needs are taken care of which was fabulous for us to cook our own meals and limit going out to eat. We saved quite a bit of money in that regard. In addition to that there are 2 grills outside and beach tents and bikes. All of what you need is in this B&B. I’ll go to this place when I’m able to go back to the OBX — until then — don’t tell everyone about it: o).
