Brisket plate with green beans and macaroni and cheese. Overall, it was ok, maybe because I’m a huge fan of Rudy’s brisket. I asked for moist and I received a mixture, the lean was a little dry. The sides were pretty good though and the service was fast. Tasted and loved all the sauces. Especially the A&W Root beer sauce. Worth another try.

I went during lunch hours and there wasn’t a long wait, so that’s a plus. The staff were really honest, he asked what I really wanted and gave his recommendations. The restroom is small and dark. There seating isn’t normal, there are picnic tables inside and they’re slightly low to the ground. I had chicken, brisket, pinto beans and macaroni. It was really good and flavorful. The owner or manager should probably upgrade to real plates and silverware for dine in customers as opposed to paper plates and plastic silverware. Overall, my experience was good and I’ll surely be going back for more.

We went based on the good reviews. The staff couldn’t have been nicer. The ribs and brisket were good and plenty of them. The sides fell a little short. The slaw was mostly mayo, the green beans had a funky garlic powder taste and the pinto beans were good but there was no juice so they ended up being dry.

Very good brisket, and I love the sauce. There’s not a lot of seating, so we got it to go. Sausage was great, too.

The brisket had a nice smoked taste but I felt that it was dry. Def wont be spending 10.99 for a pound of this ever again but the place was cool. They have tvs.

Best bbq in Killeen. Everything is delicious. Try the ribs. Great flavor and never over cooked. The beans are the best in Texas. The bbq sauce is homemade.

Great little BBQ spot. Food and service were excellent. I had a combination platter(hot sausage, brisket — un-trimmed the way it’s supposed to be, ribs, cole slaw and pinto beans). All the meats were excellent! Cole slaw was fresh and crispy and the beans had nice flavor and texture — not over flavored. Can’t beat it… so why not 5 Stars? I’ve never give 5 Stars… if I could I would have given 4.25 Stars.

This shit right here?!! Man let me tell you. Go around lunch time. Get brisket and/or ribs, and your sides. I prefer the green beans and potato salad. Pour sauce on anything/everything. Take a ride on the meat train to heaven! Hands down best BBQ around. Friendly staff too so you can’t go wrong. Do it! Just do it! Yesterday you said tomorrow! JUSTDOIT!

I’m not usually one for BBQ. Like, ever. It’s just NOT a style of cuisine that my palate is in agreement with. So when my mother came to visit, she was craving some good old Texas BBQ. Well, I couldn’t object, so we looked for a good place. After searching online for the best-reviewed place, we decided on Petty’s. And I’m glad we did. I don’t remember what it was my mother ordered, but she was thoroughly impressed and left full. I remember I go the chopped chicken BBQ sandwich with mac ‘n cheese and green beans. It was delicious! The chicken was moist and tender, and the sauce was glorious. Not too sweet, not too tart, and not too spicy; perfectly balanced with a hint of aromatic smoke to tip it off. My only complaint is that the bread didn’t hold up very well, and it wasn’t the best quality. Your standard grocery-store hamburger bun, and while that’s fine, it was kind’ve a turn of. Especially when that BBQ was so darn good; it kinda sucked the life out of it a bit. I don’t expect them to get bakery-fresh bread for their BBQ, but perhaps it’s time to part from the standard processed bread. Just throwing that out there for consideration. The mac ‘n cheese was great, and the green beans were decent enough. Even the staff members were wonderful. They were very helpful when it came to choosing food options and offered sound advice and flavor choices. They were talkative and personable, and asked after us as we ate. Overall, if was a wonderful experience, and I would absolutely go back again any day of the week. 5⁄5 stars.

I love this little bbq spot! Had the chopped pork sandwich and also I have tried the chopped chicken sandwich. I really enjoyed both meals especially with their homemade spicy bbq sauce! It gets a little busy during lunch but it really deserves to get busier because their food is just sooo good! All of fort hood needs to come here for lunch! It’s a small little corner spot at this small plaza and inside holds about 4 picnic tables, so come early to grab a table with your friends! You won’t be disappointed!

Perhaps my expectations were too high going in, as I’d heard a great deal of good things about Petty’s. OK brisket, OK sausage, sub par ribs. I know what you’re thinking, «But the sauce is so good!» If you leave a BBQ place talking about the sauce, you had bad BBQ

Yum! For a place that has BBQ everywhere, this place is definitely legit. My coworkers and I went here for lunch the other day and since then, we’ve called in orders twice. The chicken is definitely amazing — nice and juicy, wonderfully flavored, and a HUGE portion. I had the pulled pork… not too much fat, a good flavor without BBQ sauce, and an even better flavor with… what more can I really ask for? The banana pudding was apparently to die for. I didn’t have any but my coworker ate his in about 3 bites if that says anything. The sausage… wow. Just… wow. Good sausage… I would recommend it. Get the meat combo plate so you can try a few things and ENJOY!

I had an appointment in Killeen this morning, so we decided to stop at Petty’s for some BBQ at lunchtime. Friendly people! We ordered two sliced brisket plates with slaw and beans and it was ready in just a few minutes. The brisket was delish! The sauces were so good. My favorite was the mustard sauce, closely followed by the A&W sauce. The beans were the best I’ve ever had in a restaurant. I rate the beans a 9.5÷10! The slaw left a lot to be desired and was kind of bland for my taste. but the rest of it was worth the trip. Restaurant was clean. Ordering process simple. Simple menu with decent prices. Expect $ 6-$ 10 per person. Workers were courteous and doing their job efficiently. Food was hot and ready with very little wait. I’ll definitely return!

Thank you, Unilocal Search, for helping me find Petty’s BBQ. This place is pretty damn good and I’ve had my fair share of wood smoked low and slow BBQ between here and there. If you’re gonna be in town for a visit, then bookmark this place and check them out. They’re relatively easy to get to, and they should keep the wood smoker out front because it’s the landmark I needed to find. During my temporary work assignment in Central Texas, I made it a point to stop by a local place that was not available in my hometown for grabbing snacks before retiring to the hotel after another 12-hour workday. Mission accomplished and I visited Petty’s once more for lunch before driving to the airport for my return flight. I sampled a variety of smoked barbecue, homemade side dishes and an icy glass(or two) of sweet tea. Photos attached. I have to admit, the amount of sugar in a proper tea recipe is much more than I’m accustomed to, but it certainly is refreshing on a hot day and that sweetness compliments the savory food and hearty sauces nicely. The vibe is super casual and the folks working there are nice. On my dinner visit, it looked like they were closing shop early. Maybe calling ahead to see if your favorite dish is available because they make limited quantities, then that’s it for the day. I asked for a sampler platter of what was left and dude hooked it up. I tried my best to devour what I could, but had to cram the leftovers in the hotel mini-fridge as 4th meal snacks. I could have gone anywhere else for dinner or lunch, and Petty’s is the only spot that I visited twice during my brief Texas stay.

The food is sooo YUMMY! We went down to Georgetown a couple nights ago because of the reviews. They don’t hold a candle to this place. This place is way cheaper and WAY better! We got a family meal and shared the ribs and brisket with coleslaw, mac-n-cheese, and potato salad. I think I should have got the green beans instead of the Cole slaw but hey, I’m coming back soon!
