CLOSED Sad…we read the nice reviews, and wanted to support local. But we showed up, and it was empty.

not the experience i was expecting. Will stop at Starbucks instead, coffee tasted strange, bad water in King City?

The ambiance was awesome! I was here for a quick cup of coffee, and the barista was friendly and helpful! The cookies are yummy, and the caramel javalanche that I got was heavenly. I will definitely come back if I’m in the area again!

Loved this warm family atmosphere. There is a lot of fireman gear to look at too. Nice people and delicious coffee! We randomly found it while on a road trip and would very likely stop in again :) I had a caramel latte with soy.

In a world where Starbucks takes most peoples coffee orders, it is a refreshing thing to step into a small family run coffee shop. What makes this coffee shop special is the decorations. As it says in the name, Firehouse coffee is decorated in Firefighter paraphernalia. Above the door you can see many different uniform patches from around the county and country. There are photos and helmets, jackets and fire hose. It makes for such an interesting experience which is atypical of a normal run of the mill corporate coffee company. If you are passing by on highway 101 make sure to stop in and try a cup of their coffee.

My husband and I love this place. They make the best paninis in the area! Worth the drive. And the coffee is great too!

This is a better choice than Starbucks. It’s local and have a good cup of coffee. If you don’t like sweet lattes be advised to ask them to use a little less syrup.

I also got suckered by the 101 northbound billboard and bought a 16 oz. self-serve(java city). It was criminally weak. First I inspected the House, then the French Roast — all the same. After a committed French Roast pump, I could still see through a good two inches of «coffee» to the bottom of the cup. Had I paid a buck for it at the Valero down the street(I paid $ 2.25), I might have been more understanding(but still very bummed). If I weren’t such a sissy I’d’a thrown it on the ground; alas, I tossed it in the trash. Getting back on the freeway, I saw a McDonald’s and wished I’d bought coffee there. Have you ever heard such a tale — regretting an opportunity for McDonald’s coffee? Needless to say, ten minutes up the road in Soledad that omnipresent green Siren tempted me off the road for a very much appreciated Grande drip.

What a pleasant surprise! Saw the plain and simple sign 20 miles south on 101 and pulled off needing a wake-up. I expected a coffee shop and Surprise! found a great little indy coffeehouse. The double espresso was generous and tasty and the fresh chocolate chocolate chip cookies were divine. I’ll be back!

Awesome food, service, ambience and price. Definitely 5 stars. Whitney, Lindsay, and Cassie have a top notch establishment. They should franchise it!

It’s a cute little place. The double dry cappuccino was well done, and the service was very friendly.

Nice to see this independent coffeehouse effort in one of the Central California towns. Many of the items(cups, coffee jugs, etc.) have the«Java City» branding, while a few look to be made on the premises or locally(i.e., the rice crispy treats). I had a caramel ice blended coffee drink, which is actually made with half and half and ice cream. I expected it to be much richer and sweeter, but because the espresso shot wasn’t strong enough(or perhaps the drink need two shots to be in proportion with the rest of the ingredients), this drink seemed to be almost bitter. There seems to be much potential here, especially for an establishment very close to the freeway offramp – so convenient. And this Unilocaler was made aware of the coffeehouse by a sign along the freeway 15 – 20 minutes south of King City. Hope this little place just keeps getting better, and more people discover it.
