Most gun shops specialize in a few categories and their AR accessories are almost always lacking, which leads us to buy our gear online. Both times I went into Big Dog they had EXACTLY what I was looking for from Magpul which no other store in the DC area ever even carried. They had plenty of magazines, a good selection of ammo and of course, counters and walls filled with firearms from every relevant manufacturer. I also discovered they are also partnered with Stripper Clip Gunsmithing, a local gunsmith shop started by two DC area gunsmiths from a former custom shop. You can bring your gun in, explain what you are wanting to do, drop it off and pick it up at the store once the work is completed (while grabbing a few boxes of ammo to enjoy your upgrades with). A great store with tons of features, definitely worth checking out!

Awesome selection of guns of all types even a little archery stuff and the workers are all super kind and helpful and just friendly along with their awesome shop dog tank who was super nice and loving. Great local business. Support them they deserve it

Went in a few days ago to buy my very first gun. I was concerned about the «kick». The salesman sold me a gun that he said kicked to the side when shot, instead of back. Sounded good to me. I bought it, shot it two days alter, and lo and behold it does NOT kick to the side. So, I was completely lied to. Very disappointed as I was impressed with the selection and the attitude of the salesmen. I was buying a gun either way, there was no reason to lie to me.
