Great food. The ribs were sweet and flavorful. A gem of a place on route 301. Stop in and enjoy the atmosphere Does catering

I was more sold on the owner than the food. I am not sure what is Cajun about this restaurant. The food was average. I had A softshell crab sandwich and A side of collards. If you’re on the move is a decent place to start.

If you like dry Cajun food this is the place. Ribs, chicken, and rice all pretty mediocre.

Two weekends ago my boyfriend suggested we get carry out dinner here. I really didn’t feel like ribs so I got the Po’ Boy with oysters and he got the red beans and rice with a sausage link and a hamburger($ 5.50) with remoulade sauce on it and a larger order of onion rings. He ate the burger on the way home. It was a hamburger thrown between a hamburger bun, no lettuce, no tomato just a dry hamburger. He was really disappointed. He said the sauce on it was good. When we got home I dug into my foot long(cut in to 2– 6 inch subs) oyster Po’ Boy(12.00) the oysters were so dark(not light brown and fluffy) that they almost tasted burnt. You couldn’t tell they were oysters. I ate half of a 6 inch sub and threw the rest in the trash. It’s funny cause on the front of the menu it gives the definition of a Po’ Boy What makes a Po’ Boy great is the bread. It is made with good quality, fresh French bread. French bread has a crunchy crust with a very light center. Wow, mine was on a soft hoagie roll. Obviously the owner doesn’t care that it isn’t made like they do in NOLA. I went to a Beer festival in Arlington a month ago and they had great food trucks serving food and I had one of the best Oyster Po-Boy’s I’ve ever eaten! I’ve been to New Orleans lots and it was delicious. My boyfriend ate half of his red beans and rice with a sausage link and put the rest in the refrigerator. I don’t even know if he ate the rest. The onion rings were very good. We shared those. Giving one star for the onion rings. We spend $ 32.00 on a horrible dinner, what a waste. I had indigestion for the rest of the evening. I wish we had gone to King George Pizza instead. I will never eat there again.

This place is good for swinging by on a road trip to grab a quick bite – it’s take out, so you order, they go back and grab the food(2 – 4 minutes wait) and give it to you in a styrofoam box. We got the pulled pork sandwiches, which came with chips and a pickle for $ 6. Ate it in about 10 seconds. You get your choice of sauce, as well. This place is not a place to go for a quiet, formal lunch, a date you’re trying to impress, a picky eater with no sense of adventure, or for a ton of indoor seating(or, apparently, public restrooms). If you need to use the potty, there is a gas station across the street. If you lack a sense of adventure, I’m sure there’s a McDonald’s somewhere not too far away. For those who want to experience some authentic, fun roadside cuisine and get in and out quickly, this place is perfect. If I were driving through this part of VA again, I would definitely stop and try something else here.

Unfortunately, this review starts with the words«I wanted to like it». I wanted to like it, really I did. I love finding those little-known, out of the way places(read: non chain!) that make eating on the road a special event. As much as I wanted it, didn’t happen here for the most part. Our order consisted of a half-chicken, 6″ pork sandwich and potato salad, baked beans and coleslaw sides. For all that, the bill was about 22 dollars so the price was certainly reasonable if it had all been good. The chicken was very moist and enjoyable. Sandwich not so much. The hot sauce given with it was basically straight up Franks Red Hot and I would have preferred something with a little more depth. We both liked the baked beans and potato salad(reminded me of my mom’s). Coleslaw was vinegar-based and had about twice as much celery seed than it really needed. Be forewarned: This place is licensed as a carryout in the state of Virginia and as such does not need to provide restrooms for patrons. Even though they do have outside seating.

The chicken and sausage gumbo is good. I had the red beans and rice and did not really care for them. The potato salad was pretty good as well. Yes I would eat there again but not often.

The pork ribs were delicious. The North Carolina-style chipped pork was just-ok(although I do not prefer this clear bbq sauce). The baked beans were good, and hush puppies were very good. We also tried the fried shrimp po’ boy, and had mixed opinions. Sweet tea is delicious but had too much ice and not enough tea. There is a pig sign out front. Always winning! This place is worth going out of your way to visit if you’re in the general area.

This place was formerly Crazy Ray’s before being dubbed Crazy Cajun. But I don’t think this new incarnation will last very long since the restaurant is currently up for sale. Yes, that«cow-pig» out front can be yours for $ 150,000. Cajun is bit of a misnomer though, as the menu largely consists of American fare and BBQ. But I did see po’ boys on the menu. The point is moot though, since I was interested in the BBQ. I opted for a pork BBQ sandwich and an order of hushpuppies. The BBQ sandwich was just okay. The bun was not substantial enough to hold up to the generous heaping of pork and sauce. The pork was a bit chewier than I would have liked. Also, the sauce, I chose the hot sauce, only had one note — Tabasco. The sandwich was served with a bag of Utz chips and a pickle. Now the hushpuppies on the other hand, were fantastic! I highly recommend these delicious delights!
