As advertised, two clean, professional, and polite guys came on time. They reviewed what was to be taken and gave me a quote that was three times greater than what was estimated on the phone. From that point on, it was a negotiation on what they would take for the price quoted on the phone. What they did take was very disappointing to me, so it really only saved me a little pain but not all. It must be the Phili office since my sister used this franchise in Northern New Jersey and it was definitely a good value for the volume.
Lesson: don’t call them until you can fill more than half their truck, that’s when the value kicks in.

We had 5 large pieces of furniture move today without any fuss. The guys were professional and handled everything for us. My one minor issue was price, they were a little high but, as seniors there’s no way we could have moved anything.
I suggestion is they offer a senior discount. But other wise it was a very pleasant experience.

This was a complete nightmare. False advertising! I scheduled an appointment to clean out a relative’s apartment. There were a few pieces of nice furniture and lots of household items. Most of the items were in good condition and I hoped they would be donated, rather than trashed. I chose this company for the service they claim to provide to sort items into donations, recycling, and landfill, keeping as much out of landfill as possible. I had called ahead of time to find out whether I needed to pack up the household items ahead of my scheduled appointment, and they said no, that the workers would bring bins and would pack the items themselves. I knew the cost of the service was a bit high, but I thought I was paying for the convenience of not doing it myself. Plus, I knew I had to take time off from work to do the clean-​out, and I wanted to limit my time. I used an online estimator, and thought that I would fill up most of one truck. When the workers showed up, they had no bins. When I asked about them they said they don’t ever use any bins and that this is a lie told by the national office to make a sale. I believe it is a service that I was supposed to get for the money, but that there is no supervision or quality control over what happens at the franchise offices. I ended up telling them just to take the furniture; I had to come back the next day to pack up the household items and take them myself to a thrift store for donation. This took almost a whole day because I had to do it myself, which I had not planed on. Also, when the workers loaded the items on the truck, they were not very careful, and I believe they damaged a lot of furniture that could have been donated. In one case I saw them break apart a bed frame, splitting the wood, rather than disassembling it. This means that an item that could have been donated is now going to end up as landfill. Also, these trucks are very small. I ended up filling two truckloads, which cost twice as much as I expected after having used an estimator. I also had to call the manager of the office to convince them to bring a second truck after the movers who showed up told me that it was too late in the day to get another truck. I didn’t have the option of having them come back another day.
This was the opposite of a hassle-​free experience. I complained to the manager and they took 15% off my bill, but I still cannot recommend this service. It is not as advertised.

The guys came less than an hour of when I scheduled them on their app. They were extremely polite and efficient. Price was great. I’ve already recommended them to my neighbor! I’ll call them again for sure.

Initially I contacted the call center to book an appointment. I was told I would receive a call from their local office to confirm the appointment which did not happen. On the day of the appointment which was a 8:30 — 10:30am window. I never got a call from the office or drivers and it was know 9:45am. I contacted the call center which said they will reach out to the local business and have them reach out to me directly with an ETA. At 10:15am I finally received a call and the driver said he would arrive by 11:00am (mind you I was promised 8:30 — 10:30am). I thought about canceling but I really needed to get rid of my treadmill and sofa. Why they arrived they quoted the 2 pieces at $ 300 for removal. When I heard $ 300 my gut had dropped but the items needed to go. I said is there some kind of discount for the lateness/​inconvenience they said no. I told them to get started and next thing I knew they knocked a 6 inch hole into my wall with the treadmill and scraped my wooden floor leaving a 10 inch deep scratch with the sofa. I said you guys are destroying my house so they said we could take some of the bill to compensate for the damage. I said this is crazy because the damage exceeds the cost of the job. They called a manager who then told them to take $ 50 off and give me junk bucks which are coupons I could use again in the future. I basically told them here is $ 99 bucks and keep the coupons. After I called 3 contractors to estimate the damage they caused the lowest was $ 650 to fix the hole and the scratches. Next time when two guys show up with tattoos from head to toe at your house close the door and call someone professional.

Great process for setting up appointment on line. Arrived at scheduled time, removed items quickly and were very pleasant and easy to work with. Will definitely use this service again!

Called to ask about a price quote, and they were able to schedule me for later that day! Dennis and Cleveland arrived right on time, were very friendly, and were done within 15 minutes! Admittedly, I had a small job (just an old mattress and an oversized armchair), but I was really pleased with it. It ended up being only $ 129, which was under my price range. I would highly recommend this service to anyone.

We scheduled 1−800-GOT-JUNK? for 9:30 — 11:30AM for a cleanout of a relative’s condo in a high rise. The movers had taken almost everything leaving two beds, kitchen contents, books and a few closets. We had flown in from out of town and had to have it done that day, because it was the only day we could reserve the freight elevator and loading dock at the building.
Two GOT-​JUNK employees finally showed up at 1PM with a truck that was almost full. They quoted us $ 698 for one truckload, which seemed excessive but we said OK. I asked them where their loading containers were (as shown on the web site) and they said they didn’t use those, they used black trash bags but they were out of them. My wife and I (who are in our 60’s) realized we would never finish by 4:30PM unless we did it ourselves, so we bought trash bags, double bagged them and loaded up all the books, pots and pans, etc, and hauled about 25 bags down the freight elevator to the loading dock.
It took them one hour to disassemble the beds and take the two mattresses and box springs down. They worked very slowly often with one person working while the other watched. At 2PM they left to empty the truck. The GOT-​JUNK employees came back at 3PM, threw the loaded trash bags onto their truck and with two more trips the cleanout was done by 4PM. The truck was ¹⁄₃ full but they tried to charge us for 1.5 truckloads. When we complained that it was only ¹⁄₃ truckload plus two beds and that we had done all the packing and hauling ourselves, they cut the price to $ 798.
If you want to do all the work yourselves and get overcharged in the process, go ahead and hire these guys.

Thieves. We instructed them to remove an unassembled crib, and they took a BRAND NEW, UNOPENED crib mattress that was next to the crib. My husband was watching the baby so we didn’t notice until after they left. When we called to recover the stolen mattress, they informed us that «it’s been disposed of.» DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

What a great experience! First the guys called us early and asked if they could meet us earlier then planned. Once at out house they gave us a very fair quote and were professional and fun to work with from there. We had an entire truck of stuff for them to take and they had fun. Worked great together and were quick! Will use them again!

(background) both my husband and i are disabled, but hubby keeps thinking he can still lift and clean up heavy things. which leads to stuff not actually getting taken out… we are both also very allergic to mold.
after he ended up in the hospital, i had to get the basement cleaned out because of a mold problem. i knew i couldn’t do it, so i called 1 800 got junk at around 8 am.
a team arrived THAT DAY and filled up an entire truck. They were courteous, kind, and VERY hard working. Frank and Don? Dan? (sorry i keep confusing those two names!). they didn’t even take any breaks…
they were especially careful to get the cardboard boxes down so i could look at them while seated and say whether it had to go or not (anything i couldn’t wash pretty much had to go :(sad). they were also VERY good about packing the truck as full as it could… breaking down cardboard when possible, loading bulky items in first, and using some of the NON crush-​able boxes (i had some broken plastic tubs) to hold more stuff. i was very impressed.
my jobs took longer than i had thought it would so i may have made the next job a bit late :(mea culpe. i suspect the boys didn’t even realize how big the basement was, its a bit deceptive.
i have scheduled them to come back Monday after i organize a bit more to haul away what i hope will be a smaller amount of stuff.
i paid by credit card, and tipped (not required, or apparently expected! they were a bit surprised) cash.
seriously those guys worked HARD.

I used 1−800-Got Junk yesterday for moving a large and extremely heavy piece of furniture out of my house. Not only was it moved and hauled the same day, it was also done with professionalism and creativity. I live in a small home with antique wood floors and a narrow staircase. They took pains to avoid scratching the floors and really went above and beyond (moving the dresser in the room, analyzing all angles) to get it out safely. After weeks of trying to sell this piece on Craigslist (and worrying about possible liability of someone hurting themselves in our home), it was great to know that this albatross is out of my life. I would highly recommend 1−800-GOT-JUNK if you live in the Bryn Mawr/​Main Line area. Also, take a look online – there are usually promo codes that you can use to save up to $ 30, which with the starting price at $ 149, is helpful. I didn’t see this with other companies. Be wary of the junk people on Craigslist/​telephone pole ads – I wouldn’t trust random people coming into my home for $ 60, with no liability insurance or background checks.
One word of warning – when I called 1−800-GOT-JUNK, I booked with a customer service rep. Since this is a national company with local franchises, some of the business practices may vary. For example, I was told that I could tip using a credit card. I did not have cash on me, so this was especially important. They did such a good job and usually aren’t paid nearly enough to do what they do, so I wanted to tip well. Unfortunately, despite what national customer service said, the local franchise does not allow for tipping on a credit card (although they take all major credit cards for payment). Be sure you have cash on hand.

Please be careful when using this company. The guys that come want to charge you the maximum rate. They are very inefficient at trying to load the truck so they can put no more than the bare minimum on the truck. You have to babysit the workers. The guys didn’t even try to take some of the items I asked. After they left they didn’t even have the courtesy to close my garage door.
Sorry but I can never recommend them for anything in the future.
