I came here the evening after eating at the nearby Sullivan’s(just to get that experience out of my head!). I ate at the bar, which I generally won’t do at other restaurants, but Capital Grille knows how to make a casual dinner special. Great service and the high quality of food I have come to expect from this chain. I will likely dine here again next time I am in the area.

The Lobster bisque had generous bits of lobster, although the soup was a tad too thick, but flavorful. Caesar salad was redeeming. Sliced filet mignon medium rare and generous, did not disappoint. The asparagus sadly was the size of structural rebar and varied from crunchy to mushy, with an avoidable lemon gust on the ends left by a half lemon squatting in the wrong territory. Au gratin potatoes lacked the delicate sauce I expected. Pacing was off a lot between salad and entrée. In general the meal was satisfying, if not up to 4 or 5 stars on food and service. Thinking of coming back for the generous pour event later in the summer, just not at this location.

I went there for dinner before my TC. It is a wonderful experience. Jennifer was very pleasant and made me feel comfortable throughout the meal. The filet mignon is perfectly cooked, not dry, not soft with a lot of juice.

We came here for our sons HS graduation and they went out of their way to make it a special occasion! Back story was we we going to another place on Sunday later afternoon for a dinner and they were less than accommodating so we made last minute arrangements with capital grille and they bent over backwards for our meal and sons graduation! Wonderful dinner and made it a memorable event! Thank you so much!

Always do a girls night out at this place during restaurant week. It’s pretty expensive but during that time you can visit restaurants you wouldn’t typically and get a great meal. We always start off in the bar while waiting for all girls to arrive and then to our table. Staff is always very nice and we always get a great server. Steaks are out of this world and always bring leftovers home and the kids fight over them. From the apps to the desert it’s a very delicious meal and we have made it a tradition. Enjoy!

Disappointing. I brought three colleagues here on a Wednesday night and had a mixed experience. The service was good(Matthew G.) but the food was hit or miss. Sadly, the calamari with cherry peppers appetizer was the highlight of the meal. The lobster bisque, which rich and creamy, was served in a little soup cup. I had the gorgazola and truffle NY strip ordered medium rare. The steak arrived rare, and the flavor was lacking. This steak did not have the salty, crusty taste and texture expected of dry aged prime beef. Also, the red wine sauce it was sitting in clashed with the beef and cheese flavors. Why add the sauce? One colleague ordered the same and hers was overcooked to medium well. Two other colleagues ordered the tenderloin and buttered lobster tails. Both steaks cooked as ordered buy the lobster tails looked more like jumbo shrimp. For sides, creamed spinach was decent, lobster Mac and cheese was watery with dried out noodles, and the mushrooms were spongy but tasty. Wine was well priced. For King Of Prussia, this might be a winner, but my experience was disappointing.

Wonderful quality seafood however there is little consistency in the final product. Broken or overly sweet sauces, under cooked fish have been part of both my lunch and dinner experiences.

I went here Sunday night to celebrate my brothers birthday with 5 guest total. We had a great dining experience all around. The food was great, didn’t take too long, and didn’t disappoint. We had steaks as you can imagine, and they were all cooked appropriately. The oysters were fresh, and the calamari was breaded just right. The wine list was extensive and you could order from an iPad. I thought this was great. The cocktails were also tasty! The service was great! Attentive, and not overwhelming. My water glass stayed full and we were checked on periodically. The manager stopped over and chatted with us as well. They brought a candle for my brother unprompted and gifted us a photo together. This was a great extra touch.

Really 2.5 Stars. The service was excellent but the food was below average, especially for the price. This review is based on similar restaurants in the area. The Capital Grille is below average, at least for steak houses near King of Prussia. I arrived on time for my 5:30 p.m. reservation. After waiting a minute, I was able to check in with the host who was obviously very busy. I seemed to have arrived right at the beginning of a rush. It took about 10 minutes until my table was set and I was seated, despite the fact that the restaurant was at most a quarter full. While I was waiting to be seated, I asked the host about the«special drink» and amuse bouche provideed to certain clients of my investment bank. I was not actually planning on even having the drink, and am allergic to ingredients in the amuse-bouche, but I just wanted to know what exactly the offer was. Unfortunately, the host, who was a training manager, was unaware of what I was talking about. He did say he would send the manager over to my table to answer my question. My server was Kimberly P. She was excellent throughout the entire meal. No one helped her, while they were helping other tables. She was very attentive, and checked on me throughout the meal. She poured my wine properly. As a side note, I do find it strange that Capital Grille has their servers give you a business card with their full name on it. God forbid I was a stalker. Like many local steakhouses, the beer selection was terrible. Therefore I went with a reasonably priced bottle of Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Unfortunately the wine selections are on an iPad. I hate that. I find it makes it much more difficult to choose a wine. Nonetheless, at the end of my meal, Kimberly did record my bottle and put it in a sealed plastic bag for me to take home. My wine arrive with a Bread Basket. It contained potato bread, some kind of multigrain roll, and cinnamon raisin bread. All of the breads were delicious. Unfortunately though, they were the best part of my meal. While I was eating the bread I mentioned to Kimberly about the special for members of my Investment Bank. She knew nothing about it, but was kind enough to inquire. It turns out that along with the amuse-bouche there is no special drink, but rather a flute of champagne. I had already begun drinking my wine, so I wasn’t going to have it, but Kimberley insisted, especially because it was free. I accepted it and drank it, though it was nothing special. My food finally arrived. I had ordered the large filet medium rare and a baked potato. Unfortunately, the filet was much more medium than medium rare. The steak really did not have great flavor and I found it to be a bit gamey. It was also a bit too chared for my liking. Further, the baked potato, while huge, was completely dried out. The skin of the potato was very difficult to cut even with a steak knife. The bacon that came with the potato, while delicious, was incredibly rubbery and chewy. I had to use 4 servings of sour cream and butter just to get through the potato. Overall the food itself was quite disappointing. JP, the manager did come over while I was having my meal. I was in a bit of a hurry so I decided not to even bother telling him about how poorly executed the food was because I did not have time to wait for another meal anyway. JP was also very confused about the deal with my Investment Bank, even though I showed him the webpage regarding it. After my disappointing entrée, I requested another basket of bread for dessert. I figured this was my best option since it was the best thing I had had all night. The room was quite loud, measuring 84dB empty. Painfully slow Internet. I mean it was really unusably slow. So slow I could not even run a Speedtest on it. Needless to say, despite the excellent service provided by Kimberly I will not be back because my food was just not up to par, especially for the price.

We really enjoyed a date night last Saturday(2⁄27). The waiter — Mike — knew his stuff. Had a bone on filet and hit the spot. Ordered a couple of sides and desert; my wife had a filet as well. Great table!(corner and got to watch the kitchen some) no complaints on service. In fact — they work as a team. As our table was being bussed before desert a manager stepped in to help remove some dishes. You just don’t see that approach everywhere! Quite impressive and seamless. So you may be thinking — great food and great service — why four stars? The Capital Grille is not exactly a value. It was $ 300 all in for two filets, a $ 40 of wine, two family style sides and desert. That seems a little high on my end. We will go back. Menu changes quarterly and who knows what the spring will bring. To summarize: Seamless service and outstanding food. Bring your wallet.

Capital Grille is a chain restaurant, that has a fine dining atmosphere. My husband has raved about the restaurant, and we decided to go for his birthday. I made the reservations on their website and noted that the special occasion was his birthday. This is my first experience at Capital Grille, but I was impressed from start to finish. Service: 5⁄5. To start off, the restaurant decorated the table with happy birthday confetti and had a birthday card waiting for my husband. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. He was intuitive, and knew when was appropriate to interrupt us but also to keep his distance. Food: 5⁄5. Immediately when we were seated, we were asked if we wanted ice water with lemon and we were given an assortment of bread with butter. Bread was delicious! For the appetizers we had the pan fried calamari with hot cherry peppers. The calamari was crispy, and did not taste greasy. We also had the lobster bisque with sherry, and it was creamy and had good amount of lobster chunks in the bisque. For my entrée, I had the seared tenderloin with butter poached lobster tails. I requested for the tenderloin to be cooked medium rare, and both meats were cooked to perfection. My entrée was the perfect size for me. My husband had the porcini rubbed bone in ribeye with a 15 year aged balsamic. His entrée was HUGE, and he reported his meat was cooked perfectly as well. He ate the whole meal with a big smile on his face. His meat was so tender, and the flavors were vibrant and delicious. It was just that good. At Capital Grille you do not get sides with your meat dish, but have to order it separately. The sides definitely can be shared between 2 – 4 people, depending on how much you can eat. We ordered the asparagus and the lobster mac and cheese. I was so full from our meal that I had one bite of each side. Asparagus was tasty with a hint of lemon. The lobster mac and cheese had a great crispy breaded top, and a great deal of lobster mixed in with the pasta. We were too full from our meal to get dessert, but because it was my husband’s birthday they brought out a complimentary dessert dish. How thoughtful of them! It consisted of a cheesecake with strawberry sauce and fruit, and a dark chocolate cake with expresso and a raspberry sauce and fresh raspberries. Yum! The price is steep and plan on spending well over $ 100 for two people, but the food was prepared on point, and I will definitely be back again!

We all know the steaks(and burgers) at Capital Grill are great, but what about the drinks? Happy to report that the bar is pretty solid, serving some of the best cocktails in the area. The selection of Scotch and Bourbon is not bad and reasonably priced(well, except for perhaps the Macallan 25yr at $ 140 a dram). Bar can get crowded on the weekends.

4.5 stars as a combination for all of my experiences thus far here at this location. I’m a huge fan of this steak chain — for the most part my experiences have been consistent from location to location from NJ, to FL, to PA. I’ve been to this location many times before for date nights and birthday dinners. It’s about time I review this location as it’s my go to location — as my normal experience wavered slightly. My beau and I wanted to start the new year off with a nice meal. Reservations were easily made through open table, however be warned to plan ahead. Prime dining times go quickly. So this past Saturday my only options were 5:45 or 8:45pm for a party of 2. We opted for the later 8:45 seating as we had some errands to run up in northern NJ and then another errand in PA that would bring us closer to the restaurant — we wound up arriving around 8:00pm but figured we’d sit in the bar and have a drink or two. Valet was fabulous, this attendant was really working hard, introduced himself and asked my bf’s name and wished him a happy new year etc. It was a nice touch that started out our evening. «Check in» for the reservation went smoothly and with a smile… let the hostesses know that we’d be in the bar area. Got our beverages from my fav. bartender(the taller one sans eye glasses) and he moved my tab to our final bill.(I love that) We sat, we people watched, noted that we’ve never come for lunch/sat at the bar to try the bar menu — so made point to do that in the near future as we watched different meals get delivered to patrons. Watched as what we suppose was a semi regular customer got angry he had to sit at the bar when there was no tables available(…there’s this thing called… reservations!) he legit was yelling at anyone who worked there that passed by, very rudely yelled at some other patrons to move down to make room for him, when a manager finally came over and subdued him and got him a table. It was now 8:45pm — my bf and I were like… if they give this guy our table because of his complaining and bump us… we’d be fit! …so my bf went up to the hostess stand, just to inquire how we were doing on our reservation time… the hostess snapped at him and when he said he’d like to check on our reservation… she snapped«And???» I couldn’t believe it, and a manger was standing right there. So my bf said…“AND just wanted to know when our table would be ready.” She got two menu’s and said, follow me. It was really uncomfortable. I get that they were probably flustered from what just transpired with the other patrons, but damn. don’t take it out on us. We got sat by the kitchen in a comfortable booth. While the seat was comfortable, it was a bit warm, given it was by the kitchen but a removal of winter layers was enough to cool down. Our server for the evening was I guess tired, or just not into her job very much. She was not pleasant in the slightest form, she refused to raise her voice when I even asked her to because it was hard to hear her over the kitchen noise, she was condescending to the point that I almost asked her if we had done something to offend her. My bf and I say Please, thank you, smile warmly and cheerfully when ordering and try to make pleasantries. We maintained our constitution in hopes it would brighten her a bit… but nope. Our meals, delicious as always — my dry aged strip cooked to a perfect medium rare(something CG’s competitors have a hard time doing) and the bf’s lamb chops perfectly delicious as always. I’m still sad they no longer have the twice baked potatoes, but the brussels sprouts and fingerlings served their purpose and were mighty tasty. Dessert special was sticky toffee pudding, I nearly jumped up with joy… it’s my favorite dessert. So I had to have it… and it was glorious. Beau got the ice cream trio with cookies. The mint chocolate chip is very good, could taste some fresh mint. Next time we go, we will specifically ask to not be seated with this server. I don’t expect to be treated like royalty(deep down I do, lol), but I do expect to be treated somewhat nicely and made to feel welcome. The highlight of service was our food runner, who was a jolly man who I wish I could have given the tip to instead of our server. Note: I had thought the valet attendant had left us a surprise smell in my car — I was angry! But then realized… it was the left over brussels sprouts. teeeheeee!

My boyfriend and I decided to treat ourselves to a nice dinner after a few hours at the mall. We were seated right away at a high-top table in the bar area. Started off with oysters on the half shell. They were large and tasted very fresh. Next, we split a Caeser salad and a cup of lobster bisque, which had large chunks of meaty lobster and the option to add a splash of sherry. For our main course, I opted for the beef tenderloin(medium) with butter poached lobster tails. The meat was cooked perfectly and was sitting in a delectable butter sauce. My boyfriend had a Gorgonzola & truffle encrusted bone-in NY strip(medium rare) which he described as «Bangin’!!» It came sitting on top of a Cabernet reduction sauce. Shared a side of Brussels sprouts with bacon, but I felt they were a little under cooked. Finished with crème brulee which was topped with fresh berries. Service was friendly and drinks were on point.

Did you know Cap Grille offers limited outdoor seating? 5 tables, a variety of square and round tables that face the parking lot, the Rothman building and the road. Not too bad especially on a nice day/night if you want to escape the dark vibe indoors. Ordered the porcini-rubbed ribeye, filet, mashed potatoes and lobster mac and cheese. Have zero room for anything but entrees here. The ribeye was HUGE, bone in and tasty, but I didn’t get too strong a taste of porcini. Mashed potatoes on point and delicious. The mac and cheese was ok. It was in a more liquidy cheese sauce(no oozing stretchy cheese here) and the lobsta was sparse(two pieces of small claw meat… throw in some tail wouldya?!?). I was told the filet was amazing! Always keep in mind the side dishes are sharing sizes and unless you’ve starved all day, usually one side, along with a pair of Capital Grille-sized entrees, for two is plenty… especially if you want to leave room for dessert.

Honestly, the service and food here are always top-notch. And, yes, it’s a chain but it does not feel like one. we had a private party for 12(in the back small room) and it was lovely. Lobster Salad(I love it here) never disappoints. Wonderful! Tastes even better on an expense account,(Alas, I was paying.)

The Capitol Grille offers fine dining, excellent service, and great ambience. I’ve been twice and have loved every time. I typically start with one of their signature drinks, the Stoli Doli. They’re strong though, you’ll only need two! The steaks are delicious, and are always cooked to perfection. There really is not a wrong option when it comes to the meat here. As far as the sides, i’ve tried the mashed potatoes and they are the best i’ve ever had. They are so creamy and rich, they’re like fluffy pillows on the palate. When we went for a special event, they also took a keepsake photo, framed it and let us keep it which was a really nice touch.

I rarely give 5 star reviews as few restaurants live up to their 5 star reputation however, I can guarantee you will love the experience at The Capital Grille. Classic surf and turf restaurant with strict attention to detail and impeccable service. The moment you step inside, the low mood lighting, quiet ambiance and classic décor instantly feels calming and inviting. We started Father’s Day/Birthday celebration with the mother of all appetizers, The Grand Plateau, which consisted of lobster, jumbo lump crab meat, oysters, and colossal shrimp that sat atop a bed of ice and arrived on two tiers of UFO-like saucer trays. All I can say is WOW! Simply fresh and simply delicious. The nice touch was the lemon halves that accompanied the seafood. It was decoratively wrapped in fancy cheesecloth like material so as to catch the seeds when squeezing them. How clever! After tearing through the appetizers, the waiter brought us fresh hot hand towels scented with a squeeze of lemon. I felt like I was sitting in the First Class section on an airplane. Nice touch! The specials of the night were the Bone in– Filet Mignon($ 62) which had a completely different taste than the regular menu Filet Mignon. It had a smokier, almost beef jerky-like flavor, but was a little drier than the regular Filet. The other special was the Lobster Bisque, a creamy and totally indulgent soup with large chunks of fresh lobster claw meat. Absolutely divine! I went with the regular menu Filet Mignon which was seasoned and cooked to perfection. We ordered several sides that were also great accompaniments to the meal: Sauteed Corn with Jalapeños, Mashed Potatoes, French Beans, and the ever popular Lobster Mac n Cheese. The sautéed corn was deliciously sweet and smoky with a bite from the jalapeños. Capital grille definitely doesn’t skimp on the lobster in the lobster mac nor the lobster bisque. You get a good amount and won’t feel robbed like other places. Prices are hefty for entrees but reasonable for sides, but quality and quantity eases the damage :) Overall, service was excellent and we never felt rushed, despite staying past the 10pm closing. I would definitely visit again.
