Short Stop Pizzeria

If you are in Kings Park, this is the best pizza in town. In the whole world of pizza is probably give it 3.5 stars but that’s not an option here. It’s not expensive, not greasy, and not too salty. The salad is good too and the meatballs are yummy. And since I’ve been coming here (after Martino’s closed) Short Stop has always been consistent. At the end of the day – that’s what you want – you know what you are getting.

I read someones review of this place saying the pizza tastes like cardboard. I grew up in KP and remember this place having the first round deep dish pizza, which was good for me because I didn’t know I was lactose intolerant at the time and only knew that if I ate more bread I didn’t need to roll around on the floor for two hours. My mother called me last night to tell me she went here after another place in town closed, and that the pizza tasted like cardboard covered in sauce. I thought she was just being Mom about, but I guess maybe not. Lou seems to agree with her.

Ordered pizza at 5:30pm. Was not delivered until 7pm and was stone cold. Very disappointing service.

Pizza looked like it was sitting for a while. When girl heated it up still was cold. Tasted like day old reheated pizza.

This rating is over due and done in hopes for improvement. The pizza here is like cardboard.
The past eight times we have picked up our pizza it is unevenly cooked, burnt and dried out. We kept going back in hopes it was just a bad night but after consecutive tries and still no improvement something needs to be done.
When you order your pie they tell you to pick it up in 40 minutes. Then when you get it the pizza looks like it was sitting there for awhile.
When we complain they do try to offer you your money back or a free pie which is nice but they need to fix the problem rather than offer a free pie.

The food is good but they need to hire some better help. I order take out from them often and no matter how many times I go over the order, there is ALwAYs something wrong when it arrives. The kids answering the phone don’t now the menu either.

My favorite pizza place in town! Great pizza. Awesome fried raviolis and French fries. I love the heros and the hero special of buy 2 get one free. My absolute favorite is the chicken franchise dinner! Mmmmm mmmm mmmmm!

Best pizza in kings park. Baked ziti slice and the chicken slice are my favorite. Sicilian is delicious and thick (the way it should be) an the regular is good but I go for the Sicilian instead. Garlic sticks for $ 1 is a nice filler if you want more but not a whole extra slice. My wife LOVES the chicken salad slice — she makes me go out of our way sometimes for it.

I would say it is the best Pizza in Kings Park, and the greek salad is great.

I’ve lived in Kings Park now for three years and have tried all the local pizza places. If you ask me, Short Stop is the best.
As far as their pizza goes, my favorite slice is their deep dish. It’s a thick slice with just about the right amount of cheese. Give it a try!

This is the best pizza in town, and probably the best pizza in about a 10 mile radius. They do a 3 for 2 deal on heros, huge value there. They have nice sized salads on the menu at a steal. I don’t drink soda, like ever, yet every time I come here I get an ice-​cold fountain Coke and it’s the perfect tasty beverage to wash it all down. I usually get a large and ask for a refill and they don’t even charge me!
Only things that keep Short Stop from being the 5-​star pizzeria is the skimpy amount of meat in the heros. Usually I find that as a bit of a saving grace since it’s not really very expensive anyway and at least it chops a few calories off… but man if only they’d put more substance there, it’d be worth a few extra minutes on my daily cardio.

Very good pizza; the best I have found in Kings Park anyway. Some interesting (and very good) pizza concoctions too.

I am a huge fan of Short Stop mainly for one reason… BBQ Chicken Pizza. They make it the best I’ve ever had. They always have other specialty pies going though, and regular is fab too.
Heros are good there also. Chicken Parm is outstanding.
Parking can get a little hairy. The train station is RIGHT there, as well as a Blockbuster that’s always hopping.
Staff is young and friendly. Delivery is on time.
