Jiffy Lube

This business is shady. After they change your oil a service manager tries to sell you a list of other services such as wiper blades, cabin filters.
I refused these other services because I keep track when my other services are due. A month later I went to change my cabin filter and found it was put in sideways resulting in it being folded up like an accordion meaning that for the past month it was worst than useless. I am sure this was intentional but even if not their workers should be trained enough to correctly reinstall these parts if they are going to inspect them. I suggest finding somewhere else for your oil changes.

I just came here to get a brake light fixed (which I got a ticket for, along with a speeding ticket). They were not only fast, courteous and friendly, but since I brought my own bulb (and probably because I looked pretty sad about my other ticket) they said that it would be no charge this time. Which really made my day so much better. Everyone was unnecessarily nice — something pretty uncommon for any business, let alone an auto repair shop. If I lived closer I’d make this the place where I get everything done for my car.

This place is wonderful. The few times I’ve been there they have been very respectful and fast about the services. This last time I had my dogs with me so I called and asked if it was okay that I get topped off on all my fluids even though I had them and they said, «sure you can even bring them inside.» I’ve been to jiffy lives all across the country (California, Colorado, Iowa, New York) and this is one of the best so far.

If I need a car wash, it’s the only place I would go. Efficient and economy. Plus, its oil change service is also very good, my #1 choice as well.

The car wash is a total rip off. The wash is the same thing you’d get for half the price at a gas station car wash. They don’t even wipe your car down afterwards. Would NEVER go there again! Shame on them!

I have been getting my oil changes and state inspections at this JiffyLube for over 10 years, and have been very happy with the service and attention to detail. Unfortunately, I had the opposite experience with my car wash today. Although 5 crew members seemed to be cleaning my car, when they were done there was still dried coffee in my cup holders, dirt and dust on the dashboard, and hair on the seats. I am not referring to any stains or damage. In fact, when I got home I easily cleaned these areas myself. The point is, however, that I should not have had to.

I used to get my car cleaned regularly at this Jiffy Lube location as well as the occasional oil change and very minor repair (ie, replacing a bulb for a burnt out light). Here is why I am giving this place one star and will do my best to avoid this place from now on:
–Every time I took my Jetta in for an oil change, the mechanic insisted that my car takes synthetic oil only, which ups the cost of the oil change to $ 75.00. Finally, I used my brain and called the Volkswagen dealership down the road and asked them if this was the case… the answer was no, I’m being scammed. Even after I told the mechanic I spoke with someone at Volkswagen and no, synthetic oil is not necessary, he still insisted my car took synthetic oil.
–At times, when I was having an oil change or minor repair taken care of, the mechanics would pull parts out of my car, bring them in, show them to me & tell me how I needed to have them replaced. This caused me to spend more money than I intended to/​had and at least once, take my car elsewhere to have a new issue fixed shortly after. I finally wised up and specifically asked any mechanic I dealt with to not pull parts out of my car and just do what I asked.
–My fiancé & I stopped for what was supposed to be a quick oil change on the way out of town… something like this should have taken 30 minutes at the most… it took two hours.
–Interior cleanings are not thorough in the least and kind of pricey. One of the last times I had an interior cleaning at this Jiffy Lube, I asked the cleaners to focus on the console & insides of the front doors. I was told that they «didn’t do that». In the past, I’ve asked them to make sure to vacuum out the trunk, guess what? They don’t «do that» either. So what exactly am I paying for here?
–I needed a bulb for one of my headlights… instead of having me pull my car safely inside the garage, the girl at the front had me pull off to the side. I then proceeded to wait 45 minutes. When it was finally time to leave, I had to do a dangerous 3 point turn in close quarters and drive the wrong way out of the parking lot. When I told the two young people I dealt with my concerns about having to do this, they nonchalantly told me it was «fine» and shrugged their shoulders.
Fortunately, I have a great mechanic not far from me who I can rely on for quick oil changes who doesn’t try to scam me. I also found another car wash that charges half the price for interior cleanings and does a thorough job… and the folks who work there put the employess at Jiffy Lube to shame. Needless to say, I will do my best not to return.

DO NOT GO THERE, DO NOT GO FOR AN OIL CHANGE, FOR A CLEANING… FOR WHATEVER… JUST DON’T GO!!!
I just tried to send this letter written below to their customer service… unfortunately… like everything else at Jiffy Lube of Kingston, the feedback form on their site is broken!!! DON’T GO THERE! Their cleaning is below mediocre… the last time I went and upgraded to interior cleaning, when I pointed out a spot I wanted them to give extra attention to on the dash, the service guy said, «we don’t do that.» WHAT? WHY NOT? DIDN’T I PAY FOR AN INTERIOR CLEANING? When the other service guy came over and offered to take care of it, the first guy responded with… a teenage «whatever…» Yeah dude… that’s the customer service you can expect at this place… «whatever»
Here’s the letter I tried to send them but couldn’t because their feedback form is broken… yes… BROKEN!

Break my car once… Break my car twice… BREAK MY CAR AGAIN! I am through with you!
So… you broke some filter thing on my Jetta… I let it slide.
Then… a few months ago, one of your technicians broke my tail light and I had to argue with the manager to prove that it happened in your shop. Reluctantly, he did order the part and replaced the back tail lens. For this reason, I decided to return because… what else could possibly go wrong?
Well… you insisted it was time for a tire rotation. So… I agreed. They rotated my tires. I heard a NEW noise I had NEVER heard before when leaving your garage. I immediately called… they swore nothing was wrong. They sent a technician who tightened the front wheel nuts which he agreed seemed loose. I still heard the noise. Your techs assured me it wasn’t my wheel. Well, the back wheel fell off my car today!!! Why? Because they NEVER tightened the rear lug nuts. The repairs will be costing me well OVER $ 500!!! Because of YOUR mistake!
NEVER will I return to Jiffy Lube of Kingston. They do a sub-​standard job, whether cleaning or repairs, the place is a joke!
All because the guys who insisted I needed a tire rotation didn’t do it right.
And … they also tried to talk me into buying a new batter, I had the mechanic today look at it… guess what, the battery is fine.

Went for an exterior car wash and an interior car cleaning.
The exterior part was fine but my complaint lies with the interior cleaning, or lack thereof.
They did not vacuum the back of my vehicle at all but did an ok job with the front and back seat area.
The tire shine was barely noticeable. It could have used a bit more on them.
They wiped down just the front dashboard. The key word here is wiped down, not cleaned.
I couldn’t even tell you if they wiped down or cleaned my windows which is supposed to be included in the service.
And last but not least, they forgot to spray the air freshener I requested.
As far as I am concerned, I paid $ 20.00 for a car wash and that’s about it.
I would go back for a car wash and perhaps an oil change but not the car detailing.
