Stopped here on a whim and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food which was GREAT and the great service! Had out of town visitors and they loved loved loved the chai tea! I had the ruben and it was fabulous and I am very picky about rubens! Not very many places on this side of the water make them very good.

I have eaten here twice in the last week. Last Saturday I got two breakfast sandwhiches to go. It took awhile but was well worth it for such a great meal. Ingredients were fresh, high quality, and abundant. Yesterday I ordered a BLT and it was also EXCELLENT!!!

First timers! Loved the eggs bene and hash browns. Hubby has croissant French toast which he devoured. Great/friendly service. Will be back for more

Sooooo gooood! I came here with family on our way for a camping trip on the coast, and we all had a great breakfast. The difference is fresh ingredients and good seasoning and delicious combinations. I really liked our server Liz. Will come back here for breakfast again when we’re around.

Went here for the name alone(flying pickle) to have breakfast. Food is tasty and prepared well. Service is friendly and prompt. They were good about catering to my vegan diet and created a sauteed vegetable mix instead of a veggie omelet for me. My friend enjoyed the biscuits and gravy(he suspects gravy is homemade!). Prices are good for the moderate portions.

Well, we needed a place to eat on our way to Forks, and this place had the best reviews after the Ferry ride. The coffee was good, and our waitress was nice. We ordered croissant French toast for the table, and it was pretty good. However, I ordered a really simple breakfast– toast with overeasy eggs. My eggs weren’t even a lick of runny. I was very sad and that brought the rating down from a 4 for me. All I really wanted in life this meowing was to sop up egg guts with my bread.

I come through town on Sundays and there are few places to get breakfast here. Now I have a new favorite. Bill serves up a lovely breakfast; clean, simple, friendly environment. Next to Albertson’s, a little hard to find. I will definitely be back.

First time I’ve been in since the new owner. Liz the waitress was very friendly and kept my drink full. She also made tomato soup from scratch and it was amazing! I’d never tasted tomato soup that good before. I will definitely go back and recommend it to others.

Visited on a miserable rainy day and were the only customers. The food was definitely four stars as was the friendly service. I would like to see the place filled with smiling diners!

I stopped by here on a recommendation while getting some work done on my motorcycle and was very pleased with the experience. I had a fairly simple turkey sandwich(I am a simple guy after all). They have good bread and cheese selections, and the veggies were very fresh and flavorful. The bread was fresh and the sandwich was tasty. I also decided to try a muffin that was tempting me at the register! They warmed it for me and it was a delicious treat! The restaurant was clean and neatly appointed. The staff was helpful and very friendly. I would absolutely stop here again!

Very good place for a sandwich. The sandwiches were well put together and had a good portion of meat. The service was attentive but not pushy. The potato salad was obviously very fresh and was good. It would be nice to have more side choices though. Would definitely visit again.

Stopped on my way home this morning from Edmonds. Had the Ham & Cheese on wheat… one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. Will stop again next time I am in Kingston.

Love the new owners! We were quickly greeted and never felt rushed to looked through the menu. We orders coffee and orange juice and he brought us water also, which I loved! The menu isn’t huge but everything is really fresh and the portions were perfect! My ABC scramble was FULL if crispy bacon and sweet avocado! It was delicious! We will be coming back next time we are home!

This is an updated review. Since the time of my last review just a short time ago in May of this year, one that I rated this place with 1 star, citing dirty bathrooms, insects all over the inside widows and photos of my son, miserably waiting for his bad hot chocolate, the ownership has changed, the menu has changed, and more. After hearing on Facebook that new owners were taking over and then receiving a message here from Bill that they make things from scratch now and inviting me to come in, I took him up on the offer. What a difference. It not only looks better, it smells better. Bathrooms are clean, insects in the false wall between them and SOHO Teriyaki(see my 1 star review and warning about that place on Unilocal as well) have been removed, lights are working now and the menu has been, as best I can tell, simplified to ensure a quality product is executable and consistent. Hot cakes made from scratch with 100% pure maple syrup. You can’t go wrong. This is what I make at home, and if I’m making pancakes from scratch at home, I’m sure not going to out to a restaurant and pay money for one that’s made from a mix. Great job Flying Pickle, I know it’s weird, we shouldn’t have to say things like that about pancakes, sort of the no-brainer thing, pancakes get made in house, not from a mix you add water to, but these days, you do. The maple syrup, keep it up, please don’t ever serve fake syrup. The pot cheese cakes sounded really interesting to me and I wanted to try them, but something else was calling to me. It’s what always calls to me on any menu, especially if I hear their sauce is made from scratch. Eggs Benedict. The sauce was nice, subtle, light. Eggs were good, ham was nice. The muffin was a bit overdone for me, I prefer a muffin that is buttered and then toasted to the point just before they brown, it makes them easier to cut through as they aren’t as tough and doesn’t add additional flavors that browning causes to the meal. Other than that, the meal was nice. My family had the hotcakes all around, 2 – 2 stacks and 1 – 3 stack. Cakes were nice and fluffy, well cooked, not gooey or doughy in the middle and were consistent in size and shape. They ate them up until they were full, and enjoyed them. I would have liked to see perhaps some protein with it, couple strips of bacon, link sausage or maybe a patty, not only to complete the plate visually, but to give the diner a better feel after consumption, something to balance out the carbohydrates they just consumed. The coffee was delicious and well prepared, the barista took her time preparing the Americano, and it showed in the end product. When we ordered, we were told it would take a few extra minutes, all those cakes and a small griddle, but all of the plates came out at the same time and I didn’t feel the wait was excessive at all, it came out right when I would have expected it to. The owner was engaging with us, kept our waters and coffees filled, made sure we had everything we needed, and told us the story of how they came to own the place. My previous review of this place wasn’t pretty, 1 star is a bad rating, but the previous owners earned it. Today, I will give the new owners of The Flying Pickle 4 stars. I’m definitely a fan of what they are trying to do and I wish them nothing but success as they continue to grow. I can’t go 5 stars… yet, there’s a bit more growth I’d like to see, but after talking to the owner, I can tell that it’s coming, he has a passion for the industry and understands the importance of quality ingredients and top-notch customer service. For anyone out there that visited The Flying Pickle under the previous owners and swore that they’d never be back, PLEASE give these new owners a try. The place may have the same name as the empty shell that was there before, but these new owners have given it a soul. Keep up the great work and I’ll be back for more!

This wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great. Had a basic turkey & mayo for the kids and a club for myself. The sandwich was HUGE and not cut into 4th’s like one usually sees a club. It was hard to eat and everything kept falling out. Bacon was not as crispy as it should be. It was all just ok. I wouldn’t go back and I would consider it over-priced for the quality.

This is OK not amazing and has a very wide selection of breakfast and lunch options. Not sure it is worth driving out of your way but if you are in the area and have a lot of different people that are picky you will be able to find something for everyone here.

Nice, casual lunch last Saturday after visiting the reborn Heronswood Nursery. I had the BBLT(double bacon), a side of asian slaw and a cup of split pea. Excellent, excellent, just ok. My cohorts each had the curried chicken salad sandwich and the asian slaw. My significant other liked the chicken salad and was less pleased with the croissant that it came on(everyone is a critic but I have to write the review). Not certain what our companion thought but the plate was clean when we were done and she kept talking about the diet she was trying which of course didn’t include the either the curried chicken salad or the croissant. It was quiet and the ladies in the place had to work hard to get the food to us in a reasonable time so I would beware if it does get busy but they certainly presented us with nice plates. Very reasonable prices.

We didn’t know where to go for lunch after our ride on the ferry, so we came here on a recommendation from a passerby. Glad we did! Service was very friendly and prices are reasonable for a great sized meal. My egg salad sandwich was $ 6 and my boyfriend’s angry tuna about $ 7. Food is fresh, healthy, and oh so yummy.
