Service has gotten better, the food is prepared well. Its good comfort Italian food. It can be expensive at times, but we usually have a good time. It would be great to see it evolve some provide more modern update menu items.

We have been here a few times for pizza. The atmosphere is very homey. The service is good. Mostly very young teenage servers that are quite attentive. I ask them to make my pizza well done but they don’t listen. The pizza crust was soggy. The mozzarella sticks came out cold. I like the side salad and the croutons are tasty. I am going to find a new pizza place in Kingwood. The pizza could be much better if they just got the crust right.

I love this place. Friendly staff, solid wine and beer menu, yummy food, and warm atmosphere. I’ve been dining at this restaurant for four years and have built a lovely connection with the people there. The Margherita Pizza is phenomenal and the breadsticks are other worldly. In the fall they do a butternut squash ravioli that I dream about all year. Keep up the wonderful food and service.

We discovered this wonderful place when we lived in Kingwood. At least once a week, we would eat in or get food to go. Always exceptional food. In fact, food is so good that for the past 14 years, we have driven from the Memorial area of Houston out to Kingwood every 2 – 3 weeks for some thin crust pizza and breadsticks, pure heaven.

Loved the margarita pizza it was amazing. We had a coupon that was a misprint on there part, but they still allowed us to use it. Friendly service and a great place to bring the family.

We went for lunch today, excellent service. Food was bland, in addition it tasted as if the sausage and pepper app was heated up before it was brought to our table. We also shared a small pizza and eggplant that didn’t cut it. Will not be going back. By the way, I started the review on 07÷2÷15. You all were open on that day, I just happened to finish it yesterday without noticing the first sentence. I stand by my review.

Came here for a date night and wasn’t overly impressed. The ambiance is a cute, very casual little restaurant. Our waitress was very nice and made sure we were taken care of. However the food was just adequate. We ordered a deep dish pizza with all the meats. Their idea of deep dish is a good pizza-place’s idea of regular. It was not very thick and the bread didn’t have that deep dish flavor. Every time I took a first bite on a slice, every topping and cheese would come off. I constantly had to pull it apart and put it back on or else I was just eating bread and sauce. Next time I’ll try their more traditional Italian food.

I used to come here more often about 17 years ago. So the fact that they’re still in business certainly counts for something. I like that it’s local and family owned. My boyfriend is a pizza lover(eye roll: dudes) so we got their version of deep dish. We ordered the«Panther» which is like a meat lover. It was thicker than average crust but not technically deep dish, by definition. The sauce was bland but I liked their cheese and the fact that it wasn’t super greasy. They also had a decent amount of topping, though we can always go for a little bit more. Amirite?! They have always done a fabulous job of hiring servers with the perfect restaurant temperament and this time was no exception. Our server was polite and checked on us and got everything out right when we asked. I know their pasta is pretty good as I have had the pesto ravioli recently with the rose cream sauce and it was delicious!

We love J Christopher’s whether eating in the restaurant or delivery. The deep dish pizza + Caesar salad + cheesecake slice is a go-to favorite of mine for pizza delivery. In the restaurant, they have a great local vibe with good service and Italian favorites. We especially like their baked ziti. All around a nice local spot for dinner!

Ordered to-go this evening(over the phone) and went in to pick up. I was HAPPY to see that this place was packed! The young man who took my order over the phone was so pleasant and didn’t rush me(thanks!). I was greeted by smiling faces at the cash wrap and was in and out quickly! Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken(huge portion) was so good! The homemade croutons — I could eat a bowl full!!! :) Thanks y’all!

We get their pizza to go often(once a week or every other week). We love their food and everything but I must say they are always always delayed in having the food ready once I’m there. They say 20 – 25 min but usually takes 35 min from when I call. No big deal except for the fact that half the time it’s wrong. Add on another 10 minutes. Was in there last week and 2 other people waiting said their orders were wrong and late as well. We continue to order because we like the pizza but I wish they would have a better system as they are hardly ever busy. There will come a time where it’s one too many times for us and I’m sure many others so I hope they figure this out soon. One more thing, girls at the hostess stand, put a smile on your face. Seriously. Or get a new job. Especially if people are waiting and the order is wrong, even if it’s not your fault. I probably wouldn’t care about these issues if you were nice and friendly about it.

Do not mistake J. Christopher’s for Christopher’s. I got the chicken Caesar salad and he got the ham and mushroom tortellini. The salad was bland and came without their tasty famous croutons. And several soggy pieces of lettuce and a burnt thin flavorless chicken breast. The tortellini was clearly store bought. The ham and mushrooms were tasty but really salty. The sauce tasted like it came from a jar. I felt like I could have easily recreated this dish at home. My daughter got the children’s fettuccine. Nothing special. Lumpy from the jar Alfredo. There was a couple of plastic stings in her food. Like something that would come off the plastic container that terrible sauce came out of. I didn’t tell anyone about it and since they *claim* their sauce is homemade it makes me wonder what those things really were. I am not one to complain and demand refunds but by the rude reply from the owners I regret being so forgiving. We ordered mushrooms for the appetizer. I’m pretty sure I bought the same brand from Sams for a party I was hosting. I don’t know if the J. Christopher’s and Christopher’s are owned by the same people but as much as I enjoyed Christopher’s I disliked J. Christopher’s. The only reason I have two stars instead of one is because the owner was working with her young teen daughter and I thought that was pretty cute I will probably visit this location one more time since they are pretty highly rated and it may have been a bad cook on the line. This is locally owned and I believe it’s important to support the locals. But judging by the quality of the food I felt like I was on a hidden camera episode of «kitchen nightmares».

The oldest remaining restaurant in Kingwood — I think it opened in 1978! I’ve been eating here since I was a baby. I almost always get the deep dish pizza. Everything else I’ve tried over the years has been outstanding.

Been here three times and twice we got the thin crust margarita pizza. Being from NY i expected triangle slices but not here it was cut both ways making tiny squares. Not a problem just different. It was delicious crust was perfect and not floppy. The last time i went my mom and boyfriend got the lasagna and we were not a fan. The sauce was too sweet and had way too much fennel seed. Definitely not a NY Italian way but its a way and other customers clearly love it. I got the basil pesto ravioli not sure if they make it in house but it was very good. Definitely a place we will be coming back to.

We went pretty late and only one other couple was in the restaurant, but the hostess sat us right next to them and I had to rub up against the other patrons chair to get my seat. That didn’t make any sense to us. And the tables need real linen tablecloths. Manicotti and Mostaccioli were great. Our waitress filled our drinks, offered togo cups and was perfectly attentive in an empty restaurant. Not top of the line, but very good.

Everything was absolutely great! Husband had a burger and fries and I had the Italian Chicken Pasta. There’s something for everyone. We also ordered fried mushrooms wick came worth a horseradish sauce that was really good. The waitress was very helpful and gave sine gray suggestions too.

I’ve eaten here a few times and keep forgetting that I don’t want to go back. It’s a local place with the menu items even named after the local sub-divisions. The pizza is good, but other then that the food is just so-so. The décor is very dated and almost feels dirty(although I’m sure it is clean). Getting rid of the dividing wall, new tablecloths and new flooring would go a long way. The staff seems to be made entirely of teenagers, which is fine but they need to be trained a little better. Servers felt like they were looming over you as you ate and I had 4 different waiters ask me how my food was. Because they are one of the few Italian restaurants near Kingwood is the only thing, IMO, that is keeping this place packed on the weekends.

This place is clearly a neighborhood establishment. The menus proudly declare«Since 1980», and every table in the place was packed the whole time we were there. For a place that closes at 9pm on a Friday, it sure was hoppin’. As soon as the hubs and I walked in, it was pretty apparent this place was staffed almost solely by teenagers. The hostess, the register girl, the delivery drivers, waiters and bus boys all had baby faces and we’re clearly under 18. They were all clean cut with crisp polos tucked into black pants. I thought, «how great there is a restaurant for high schoolers to work at. It closes at 9 so they still can get home and get decent sleep on school nights». The hostess, Stephanie, greeted us as soon as we walked in. We only had about a 5 – 10 minute wait before we were shown to our big wooden table at the back of the main dining room. The menu is pretty expansive, offering a variety of pizzas, pastas and other Italian fare. I liked that there was a «Lite» section featuring grilled chicken and other healthy dishes highlighting veggies. For days when I don’t feel like indulging in cheese and carbs(which are rare but hey, they come around) it’s nice to know I have options. I ordered the potato soup and fettuccine Alfredo, the hubs got a meat lover’s pizza called«the panther». My potato soup was of a different variety than the standard soup I’ve had at Chilis or Three B’s. It was thinner, featured more herbs and had large chunks of carrot and celery. The potato chunks in the soup were a bit too large to go in one’s mouth whole which left me with the awkward dilemma of trying to bite pieces off my spoon, or chewing with super full and hot chipmunk cheeks. Overall, the flavors were good and maybe I just received an extra chunky ladleful. The pasta and pizza arrived quickly after my soup. The waiter did a great job of timing their arrivals simultaneously. My fettuccine with grilled chicken had a thinner Alfredo sauce that seemed to feature olive oil and herbs over cream and butter. The chicken was absolutely divine and I wanted more of it. The hub’s pizza was steaming hot and cut into index card sized squares. I only had one bite(so stuffed!) but it had a great smokey meat flavor to the tomato sauce and an abundance of cheese. My hubs said it was delicious and I believe him because he ate half of it. All through out our meal we were checked on probably a half dozen times by our waitress. She was very pleasant, only making one small mistake– she brought me iced tea instead of water at the start of the meal. But she let us keep the iced tea for free and my hubs drank it all and said it was good. So that mistake worked for us! Prices aren’t cheap– my fettuccine was $ 14. But for a fun simple date night in a comfortable neighborhood hang-out atmosphere– this place is great.

I have to stay my first review about the pizza still stands amazing! But, I have to say I was really disappointed when we went in there to dine the other night. Appetizer we ordered jalapeño poppers they were tasty! Bread sticks with alfredo sauce. Not so good! I had to ask the waitress if the alfredo sauce was actually alfredo sauce or ranch. It was SO runny! It was alfredo sauce. I was really disappointed in it! My father ordered a pasta dish with veggies. He mentioned how bland it was. I ordered spaghetti with sausage and meatballs. It was ok nothing to brag about. Hubby had the supreme pizza and of course it was amazing! Son had cheese ravaoli’s and he was happy with them and my daughter had the fettuccine alfredo and again the sauce was very runny! Service was very good, and the restrooms were very clean, food not so much. Lesson learned stick with the pizza!
