Not sure what the deal is with the two bad reviews. I have not had similar experiences. This location is busy with the lunch crowd. When we left today, it was standing room only in the dining area and the line had almost made it back out the door. Plan accordingly. The staff seems nice enough, although they are not seriously fast in getting the line cleared out. Food is about what you would expect from Subway. Again, I have not seen yucky veg on the line. The amount of stuff on the sandwiches is pretty consistent and the bread is always fresh. Today was kind of funny and what made me write the review. Right after we sat down, I noticed blaring KSBJ music and then I noticed the people working behind the counter and the only other customer(at that point) were singing right along. It was amusing.

As the previous reviewer, I’ve chosen to give them three tries. The first time I came in for a cheesesteak. I ordered the«big Philly» and when asked what came on it, I was told by the girl«I don’t know, whatever you want». I’m pretty sure that’s your job to know. That sandwich was cold despite being«toasted». I paid $ 8.70. Second time I come in, order the same thing, and was charged for a $ 5.00 footlong. Talk about consistency… That sandwich was also cold. I tried one last time today. Went in, ordered a footlong cheesesteak, charged $ 8.70 and the sandwich was ice cold inside. I’m not sure their microwave even works. And the icing on the cake — I’d appreciate if the employees even put a 1% effort into acting like they give a damn about their job or your sandwich, but they don’t. Every teen and late 20′ something that works there gives me the same«please shoot me in the head» look every time I come in. I’ll be trying a new sub shop next time I want a sandwich.

Let me preface this review by saying that I hate giving this kind of review and my track record on Unilocal reflects that. This one is especially painful because it is in my neighborhood and I’ve been coming here for probably a decade. I would probably give them 3* prior to their recent decline. About 4 months ago, I came in during the week a little after 8:00 p.m. and ordered a meatball sub only to be told that they were no longer making hot subs for the evening. Disappointed, I ordered something else. About 3 months ago I came in the early evening for a sandwhich to find just one man at the counter ordering with what I assume were his two small daughters. Great! Not much wait, right? Wrong. There were two workers but only one taking orders. The first little girl couldn’t decide what she wanted so the Dad has the Subway Sandwhich Maker literally go through every item on the menu for her. What was annoying was that Dad repeated, word-for-word, everything that the Sandwhich Maker said as if the little girl couldn’t here or didn’t understand it the first time. What was even more annoying is that after 10 minutes the guy never placing an order, the 2nd worker would not lift a finger to take mine. I walked out. This weekend I decided to give them another chance. When I walked into the place, it was empty except for the two workers playing ping-pong on the tables in the dining room. Yes. I said ping-pong. I thought it was noteworthy that I actually beat them to the serving counter even though I had to walk past them to get there. I ordered a sandwhich right away and really wasn’t expecting a problem at all. Then I saw the veggies they were apparently putting on sandwhiches. The spinach was so slimey I thought I was looking at the canned variety. What really caught my eye though was the lettuce. The container was filled to the top but the lettuce was brown throughout. When I mentioned this to the Sandwhich Maker, he replied ‘that’s how it came’. I paused for about 20 seconds to see if that was his final answer. When I didn’t get a follow-up reply, I told him to cease and desist making my sandwhich as I was going elsewhere. This is a case of 3 strikes and you are OUT. Even though there were months in between visits, this was my last 3 visits so they showed me a pattern of consistency. Unfortunately, it was consistently bad. It is highly doubtful I will be coming back to this Subway location.
