Saturday and Sunday morning they are open for breakfast. We tried it for the first time this morning. EXCELLENT. My husband had an omelet filled with beef fijita meat, I had scrambled eggs with fresh tomatoes, onions and jalapenos and our daughter had heuvos rancheros. Each plate was served with refried beans and potatoes and tortillas. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the veggies were very fresh and their beans have the best flavor of any refried beans that I have tried… and I’m a refried bean fanatic! The potatoes that they served were large thick round slices that were very moist and tender, I’ve never had potatoes like this before, they almost tasted like«new potatoes»…very good. We were all stuffed and then we got the bill, just $ 25 for all three of us… we pay about that for the two of us at Cracker Barrel. We may have to do this every weekend…

So glad we finally tried this kingwood mexican restaurant. SOGOOD! Regretting we have waited a year to come here. Immediately got a table ready for us that accomodated a baby in a carseat. Ordered chicken fajitas for 2, so good! Tender and flavorful. Super fast coming from the kitchen. Margaritas — you get your money worth. Best service I have had anywhere in a long time. Our server was ruben and another gentleman(didn’t get his name) and they were so attentive. Can’t wait to come back to this local hot spot

This was a terrible decision on my part. We went there for late lunch early dinner. Empty tables, seated towards the back, where the staff hangs out. Drunk table over there loud and obnoxious. food was greasy, old, and tired. I wonder if these low end mexi places get there food and recipes from the same terrible provider. My wife would not eat her taco al carbon, I tried to eat most of my enchiladas. Kids even did not want to eat their tacos. About the only thing good there were the chips, they were hot and crispy.

Good service, good Mexican food, good prices. I’m going to start by saying this is not the best Mexican restaurant in Kingwood, but it’s a solid choice for the price you are paying. Stick with the classics like the tacos al pastor, enchiladas, or carne guisada; tastey food that satisfies any Tex-Mex craving. For appetizers, go with the guacamole instead of the queso. Their queso is just melted cheese with jalapeños on the side. Not really flavorful but mixed with the salsa, the queso can be pretty yummy. The guacamole on the other hand is perfect: AND, no lettuce! I hate when people put lettuce in guacamole. Just charge more for more avocado. All in all, I liked my experience dining at Las Palamos. I’ll probably come back sometime soon for a quick dinner, or take out.

We have dined at Los Palomas regularly for a few years now, since they were on Kingwood Drive. The food is consistently good, as is the service. The prices are reasonable. All of the friends we’ve shared it with consider the restaurant a hidden gem returning again and again. Robert and Maria a great hosts and we always have a great time.

Great food! The only reason this review is getting 3 stars is because of the hostess. She gave me a blank stare for an awkward 30 seconds after I asked her about a pick up order I had placed earlier in the day. She didn’t say she knew or didn’t know what order I was talking about. She didn’t offer to find out. She just stared blankly at me. I ran out of information to give her describing my order. It helpful at all. Also when other customers walked in to take a seat she asked if they needed menus?! Of course the need menus?!

Dinner tonight was fantastic. Even with the restaurant being a little on the hot side, the food easily made up for it. I can’t say enough positive things about tonight’s dinner. The food arrived so hot you had to wait before eating it. And I can’t remember the last time I had beef enchiladas this good. The rice was moist and tasty and the refried beans were just the way I like them. I’ve included a picture of what a GREAT enchilada should taste sand look like. Best dinner in weeks. The prices are even very reasonable.

Went here for the first time last night with a friend(who had a coupon). In other reviews people complained about the service and how bad it was – the waiters would NOT leave us alone. We had one at our table every 2 – 3 minutes. We would be talking, and a server would show up «need anything?» «everything OK?» «more water?». It was nuts. Now about the food – I ordered two chicken fajita tacos on corn tortillas. Whoever said the tortillas are store bought was correct… two nicely formed corn tortillas fresh from the packaging, I’m sure. The chicken fajita meat was chopped in tiny pieces, and the lettuce cheese, tomatoes(a few), and three slices of avocado were on the side. As I was building my tacos, I realized the cheese was shredded VELVEETA!!! I could not believe it! I hate Velveeta, and to think that’s the best they could do for shredded cheese. Again, for Mexican in this area, this place was one I won’t return to. Don’t know why it’s so difficult to get good Mexican food around here.

We have tried all the Mexican food in the area over the last ten years. When this place opened up where the old catfish place used to be we had to try it out. The first time we went the chips and dip were superior to every other place and the food was good(we stayed with standard fare that night). Since then, we have been back several times, venturing out into different menu items and always being pleasantly surprised. I almost hate to give it such a glowing review as this week there was a line out the door shortly after we sat down. Seems the word is getting out about the quality and taste.

Service is atrocious. It took entirely too long for our order to be taken, while every table around us was getting service. Asked for a drink menu, «we don’t have one but we can make whatever you want». I ordered a paloma(at Las Palomas). A different person came back to tell us they couldn’t make it. Our food came out wrong but wasn’t rushed through the line to remake it. The waiter came back twice to say«one minute».

We’ve been here several times and haven’t had any bad experiences. Lots of choices on the menu! One that we didn’t see on the menu and my 2 year old daughter mentioned she wanted was menudo. So we asked, and voila! They had menudo and it was actually pretty great! A bit pricey, but worth it if you’re a fan! Being that my wife is from Mexico City and I(a gringo) spent a couple years in Mexico myself we know what Mexican food really is, and this place is above average I would say.

The first time we came here the meal was fine, up until the dessert. We ordered tres leches for dessert, and it had freezer burn throughout. The second time we found a bunch of bones in our shredded chicken enchiladas, so we didn’t finish eating the meal. We searched through the enchiladas and there were more bones. They didn’t offer to take it off even though it was almost a full plate. We won’t be back.

Las Palomas is my 2nd place to go to for Mexican food in Kingwood. They have excellent salsa and tortilla chips and their beef quesadillas are very good. They also have some good lunch specials. My family and I really enjoy stopping here for lunch. They recently moved to a new location so I’m not sure how much their traffic has changed, but this place is usually a great spot for lunch if you don’t want to deal with alot of crowd and noise.

The food tastes like its old and reheated and they never have the ac on it was hot both times we went. We are done with this restaurant, its dirty, hot, and nasty food!!!

If you love«Mexican Food» that’s been warmed up inside its own prepackaged bag in a microwave, then this is the place for you. If you like store bought tortillas… then stop on by. If you like taking a 50⁄50 shot on whether your to go order is correct… then this is your place. I see several folks below who wrote good reviews are palateless sheep with ZERO concept of what decent Mexican food is. Good job!

Last night was the fourth time that we have eaten here since they moved to the new location. Obviously, we love it. It is your typical cold plate/hot plate moderately priced tex-mex meal that we love. The queso has great flavor and is thick and rich. The ground beef in the taco is juicy and very flavorful. I love their cheese enchiladas and the refried beans. My husband has sampled some of the shrimp dishes and he says they are better than most Mexican restaurants around. The restaurant is clean and comfortable and the wait staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is always fresh and full of flavor. It is our go-to place.

Bad? In our opinion unlawful. All of our party got food poisoning! Dirty, unsanitary, terrible food prepared in violation of about every food health ordinance that exists! If you value your health and life … DONOTEATHERE — just disgusting — awful. FILTHY.

So, this is my first time here. This is your typical Mexican Restaurant. There’s nothing really spectacular about their menu that makes it stand out from any other restaurant. However, their service is fast, and the food tastes fairly fresh. My family was very pleased with the stuffed avocado, and my father-in-law loved his Pescado Acapulco. I had the Taco Salad, and it was exactly how I like it: fresh, tasty, just the right amount of refried beans, and not drenched in oil from the taco shell like most other Mexican restaurants. This is far from fine dining, but the food is great for a relaxing night out with your family!
