Emerald City Smoothie

I love stopping by this Emerald City Smoothie and grabbing an afternoon smoothie treat and visiting all the sweet girls that work her! I typically see the manager Laura most often and she is always bubbly and friendly and manages to have me smiling and laughing by the time I leave the shop. Love having the ECS shop in my neighborhood!

Misleading.
I’ve been to this (and other) Emerald City Smoothies a number of times and it is usually delicious. I’ve never had bad customer service here. Not great, but definitely have had worse. But today I learned the truth about their smoothies. They have all sorts of healthy snacks displayed, and the ingredients in their smoothies include the names of fruits. But don’t let that fool you. I ordered the Guava Sunrise today and there is no guava, but guava SYRUP! I’ve never seen them put real fruit into anything but syrup?! Are you serious??! This place is not healthy at all. Misleading.

Worst Emerald City I have ever been to. I’ve had a lot of smoothies from various locations over the last 5+ years and this particular location fails in so many ways. First of all I just moved over to the Eastside recently so I decided to check out this place. When we got there it was closed even though the hours on the door said it was supposed to be open. We waited a few minutes to see if someone would show… 15 minutes later we left and went to the location in Redmond. Second time we went they gave us the wrong size that we asked for and my smoothie was completely tasteless. I have had this exact smoothie at least 50 times (PB&J) This one was HORRIBLY made. I went in there asking if they could fix it… the second time around It had made zero progress. I was done. I will no longer be going to this location. It sucks. They don’t show up to work on time and they cant make a good smoothie.

Not the most pleasant in the morning but hey, I’m not a morning person either. The bigger deal was the smoothie. I got a berry one with «energy» and «vegan protein» in it. It tasted so sickly sweet I had to dump it. Like there was a ton of aspartame or other fake sugar in it. It can’t be called healthy with that crap in it. They should also post sugar (or fake sugar) content. That stuff is poison!

Great smoothies, delicious options! I have never seen a smoothie place with SUCH variety of flavors. The best part is that it’s right next to a yoga studio and one of Kirkland’s nicest park. On summer days this is perfect for a refreshing drink and an evening walk. I found the peanut-​banana smoothie to be quite good, but if you’re looking for something to blow your mind, anything with papaya is delicious here.

Smoothies. I have an opinion because I love them and can make them at home without any fuss. Emerald City Smoothie makes a big deal about a simple smoothie. Those who like to over-​complicate their food may approve. As a new person at their store I found it difficult to order from their zillion placards. It’s a good thing they mention calories, because adding one ingredient can make lot of difference, but it makes the choice very complex. They add all sorts of meal supplements and fat burner stuff– but I went for a peachy one without all that. All that clutter merchandise overwhelms you too and you would just want to walk out with your smoothie when its ready (instead of catch a breath and sit inside). I have a feeling I am not the target audience– its probably for those who want one after a heavy workout and want one every time. It’s not a place you come for much if you only want a smoothie. Oh, but which one again?

Emerald City makes some great smoothies! I love the chocolate/​vanilla lean out. They are great for a post workout meal or in place of eating something bad when you don’t have much time!
The girls that work there are very helpful and fun to talk with as well! I’ve always had great service at this and the other local ECS shops.

I went this morning to get a smoothie (of course). I saw customers go in before me and after me. Was not greeted, and just asked what I wanted. Due to my peanut allergy, I let Laura know and she washed out a blender immediately.
After getting my small smoothie, I brought it in the car with me, and headed to work. While driving, I tried my drink and noticed mine tasted like soap. I even asked a colleague to try it to make sure it wasn’t just my taste buds. The soap flavor was so strong!
When I called to let Laura know that the smoothie she made me tasted like soap, she instantly knew and said «oh you have the peanut allergy right? Yes… I don’t think I rinsed the blender out that well…»
REALLY? How did she know it was just mine that was soapy? Why not any other customer? And also no apology. she said I could come in for another one, but I’m not going to go back when already at work, even if my small kid sized smoothie was $ 6
Would not go back. Especially if she is working. Maybe customer service isn’t her thing? That’s too bad, since all businesses depend on customers to survive.

I haven’t been to many Emerald City Smoothie locations, but I’m pretty sure this could be the smallest one!
The size didn’t really matter, though. There was only one customer in front of me in line, and I had no desire to stay there to drink my beverage.
I ordered my drink from the barista/​cashier, paid, and left. The drink was good. Not a very special experience, but… it was exactly what I was looking for at that moment.
Glad this location exists!

Rude Staff!
You would think since most of their employees are from Northwest University that they would be nice and when they mess up on your drink they would remake it instead of looking at you blankly like they don’t care.

Very disappointing experience. I think it gets worse everytime I step foot in this place. Girls always have a look of rudeness, especially laura. Looks like they have lots going on and somewhat flustered and for the smoothies they are very watered down. They definately don’t taste as fresh as they should. Ive been to several other ECS and they are GREAT! i’m really doubting this place they need to get it together or the word will be out.

I am very dissapointed with this ECS. I have went there a couple days in a row and still got crappy customer service. the girls there except for a few are super nice but the others are just snooty and fake. I walked in there and one of the girls was nice to the customer in front of me but when it was my turn she totally gave me and HORRIBLE attitude!!! I dont like coming to this place, but when im in need of a good smoothie i really dont have a choice.
And for the smoothies-​they do not taste «fresh» i get the same smoothie everytime i go to any ESC and they are usually delicious, but for some rsn anytime i got to the park place it tastes down right gross.

Clean establishment, friendly service and a great location. However, it tends to get busy during peak gym time.
As far as smoothies go, they claim to use the freshest ingredients. What exactly does that mean? Most juices are poured from a jar, so unless the company is willing to be open about their fruit sourcing it’s hard to tell.
I wish they had more vegetable juices and organic options. Prices are steep, depending on size and additions a drink can be well over $ 10.
I usually get a small smoothie with whey protein, interestingly enough, depending on the girl that makes it, my drink will come in a small or a medium size cup. Technically since the protein powder creates a lot of extra volume it should be a medium, but that is not always the case.
Since this ECS is right next to my yoga studio it’s a great option for a quick post workout meal.

Best ECS around. The staff is phenomenal and friendly, delightful and sassy, sweet and caring. I highly recommend getting a smoothie here. Targeted towards the active and athletic folks of the world, their smoothies list the Calories, protein and fat. This makes it easier to tailor your diet. Despite it’s overtly fitness oriented theme, it’s highly accessible to everyone. The shakes are a great heavy snack/​light meal.

Good smoothies. Energetic girls making them. 7000 times cleaner than the 24 Hour Fitness next door.

The girls behind the counter are friendly n cool n I like that. My ultimate favorite that you must get is the nutty banana… it’s perfect after a long workout not to mention that it’s delicious.

Been a patron of ECS for years. The Kirkland spot is probably my fav, Bellevue coming in 2^nd.. The gals there have always been great. I have to get my PB&J fix at least once a week. What I love about the Kirkland location is that it’s right next to 24 Hour Fitness so I can hit t up right after working out.
The smoothies themselves are the best I’ve had around here. They are true meal replacements and they give you lots and lots of options and combos on how you want to do yours. You can add supps or change out flavors, proteins, milk, etc. you can just taste the quality in the ingredients.
Perfect meal for post-​workout, staying healthy or to cool down in hot weather.

Great place to get great shakes. Protein, fruit, energy, etc. All keep the engine running.

I love this place. I’ve seen it plenty of times after working out at the 24hr next door but decided to give it a try one day and I’m hooked. It tastes way better and healthier for you than Jamba Juice and they make it in like 30 seconds! I usually do a quick stop in the morning before work and it keeps me full until lunch.

i seriously love this place. i cannot STAND JAMBA JUICE, but i love smoooooothies!
they don’t use an OJ base for their smoothies and they actually have real Acai Berry extract. The owner is often times there and he will whip you up a smoothie that is delicious.
the girls are always so nice there, not pretentious, not stuck up but just great.
i say NO MORE JAMBA!!!
