The way an American small business should operate. Quality work, fast efficient and honest. Had my truck in and out in no time. Usually I have to wait 3 weeks for my transmission work, in and out in a week and a half. Tony even opened early to get me on my way. They think customer first, maybe we all should. What a pleasure it is to do business with Andy! I brought my son’s car in for a second opinion after being told the transmission needed to be replaced. Tony was able to determine that just one part needed to be replaced, costing less than 10% of what I was quoted by the dealer. Kirkland Transmission is definitely our new place for all of our future repair needs.

I was recommended this shop by a friend. I took it in for a very simple, but cumbersome seal replacement. Tony quoted up to $ 90 plus tax to do it, which is reasonable. I got the bill for $ 136 plus tax. If I ran my business 66% over quoted pricing, I’d not last too long. I can understand overages, and a phone call describing them, but there was zero communication. Just a bill in my face and a forced smile. No thanks.

Great guys at Kirkland transmission! My 85 Mercedes had multiple leaks coming from the tranny. They had the car in an out within 2 days and charged me 100 dollars less then they quoted me! 2 weeks later a completely different o ring went out and they fixed it at no cost to me! Will service all my card here from now on.

This is a great shop. They did a complete transmission rebuild for me, but kept the car running for months with a temporary fix, while I saved up. (Transmissions are expensive!) I thought it was very decent of them to make that offer, and it worked out well for me.
I’m glad to know about them just in case something else comes up.

This place gives free full transmission test! Unlike other places that charge $ 100 just to check things up. The service is unbelievable. They took the time to explain and show me how things work. In my case I was just worried for no good reason so they let me know I do not need repairs. Wow, such honesty in the car repair industry! You can bet I will return when my car IS in need of repairs or maintenance. Great place!

I took my daughters car here since it has such a high Unilocal rating. I was changed 100 for them to drop the transmission pan so they could tell me that they need to look further to find out what parts needed to be replaced. I was told it would cost 600 for them to identify which parts needed replacing and 1241 in labor charges. Once they found out what parts were needed, they would add that into the total. Tony said I was looking at around 2500. I let him know that I wasn’t prepared to pay that and asked for him to put the car back together. He poured the old black transmission fluid back into the car but did manage to put on a new gasket. Once we got the car home, my daughter found that the drivers door handle was broken and she couldn’t open the car from the inside anymore. Why wasn’t I told this? When I spoke to Tony, he said he had thought it had come in that way but yet he was the one that test drove it that first day. He also said that they were not responsible for breaking the door handle. It was bound to happen anyway. He didn’t offer any money off the 100 I paid because they broke the door handle and got quite upset with me on the phone. So now we have a bad transmission and a broken door handle. The car is worse off than when I brought it in! I would never recommend anyone go here. Poor customer service!

Good guys that Tony and Team. No Fluff all straight forward and honest. Rebuilt my Toyota 4X4 tranny in five days. Then helped me replace my O2 sensor just because it was the right thing to do.

You can already tell their service is good when you call them.
When I took my car to AMCO, they estimated $ 1300.
My friend recommended me Kirkland transmission. Tony was very very very very kind and knowledgeble person also people work there too. Tony explained me gently and kindly whats wrong with my car.

I really like Kirkland Transmission, it reminds me of one of those auto shops from the 70’s that really lives and breathes for great customer service. They don’t believe in nickle-​and-​diming you to death.
I found this place after reading the positive reviews on Unilocal.I had just received a crazy cost estimate from the dealer and I wanted a second opinion. After speaking with Tony, I decided to let them rebuild my tranny but there was just one problem… my insurance company. I have mechanical breakdown insurance and they were being beyond difficult covering a portion of the cost. After a full three or four days of speaking and arguing with multiple reps, Tony was able to get my insurance company to cut a check for a larger amount than my mother and I could negotiate (keep in mind that we are both darn good negotiators). Their transmission warranties are better than any others than I have seen. If you’re looking for a new auto repair place, try this place out. They are nice, fair, and really take pride in their work. I also wanted to note that although transmission is in their name they do so much more.

Transmission repair is expensive but they do their best to keep the cost down. Make sure to check their web site for the coupons!
They stand by their work and are very friendly… they need coffee in the waiting room, but I won’t mark them down for that.

We were on a family vacation (coming from Oregon) and our van’s transmission went out about a mile from our hotel. With AAA’s assistance, we got it hauled over to Kirkland Transmission. This was after 8 pm, so of course they were closed. I met with Tony at Kirkland Transmission the next day and he explained what needed to be done, which was more than the vehicle was worth since it was over 11 years old and Blue Booked for less than $ 1,500 (we had already been considering getting a new car before our vacation anyhow). So, we spent the rest of our vacation shopping for a new car, and Tony was very understanding in regards to us not getting the work done. So why does he rate 5 stars? Because he was also helpful in getting the now-​worthless van disposed of, particularly since we were stranded a few hundred miles from home. He helped arrange for a car rental at Enterprise to get us around town shopping for cars, and overall seemed like a very nice guy. Thanks dude!

I stopped in to ask about a possible towing problem. Tony, the manager, was very very helpful. He made sure he understood my situation, and gave all the towing information I could ever have asked for.
I felt like a million dollars when I left.

I needed to have my transmission serviced for my FX35. I called multiple places and Kirkland Transmission was not the cheapest but seemed to be the best choice. I brought my car in for the service and they were absolutely terrific. I plan on taking my car back to Kirkland Transmission for my next service. They seem very honest and trustworthy.

Personable, friendly neighborhood transmission service shop. They didn’t charge me the full diagnosis charge and evened showed me the failing part for my 4wd. Fair price and trustworthy. Highly recommend.

Great advice over the phone. Didn’t push-​sell one bit, just helpful and knowlegable. Saved me lots of money doing so.

Kirkland Transmission rebuilt a transmission for my 51 Merc streetrod. I did my research and talked to a couple of their customers who gave them a great recommendation. They do alot of work of race cars so I knew they had the experience to do my rebuild. The price was average. I didn’t want to take a chance and try to save a couple of dollars for questionable worksmanship. I just wish they had a shop in Seattle.

I had them do a complete engine and transmission replacement in my mini van. Very nice dealing with Tony, the shop manager. They came in under my expected costs (which I will not post, it may seem high to many people). They sourced very good parts, rebuilt engine and transmission and had a good combination of quality and value. I am a gearhead but I really did not have time for this job. I am surprised at how well it is running over the past four months. They even cleaned and vacuumed the car. They are very responsive on the phone and kept me updated with several progress reports because it took a week to do the work.
One minor quality issue was that they missed tightening some support frame bolts… I had some clunking when cornering on my second day driving the car. But I found the problem myself and tightened them myself. If I had brought it back to them, I have no doubt that they would have found it fast and got it all straightened out for free.

The people here have EXCELLENT customer service. They are a AAA approved auto repair shop which is why I went there in the first place. They were very clear in explaining what the problem was and how the repair would work to solve the problem.
