Pony Express-Juanita

The customer service at this place is enough to drive away any considerate or respectful, (PAYING) customer.
After a couple times (thinking maybe it was ME who had the bad day) it was confirmed that, indeed, the service at this place is non-​existent. Several times, I waited patiently in line to pay for copies or print-​outs, only to watch the owner and his wife have a disagreement right in front of me. One time, I watched from afar and he was yelling at her in front of myself, and a few other customers. Completely classless.
Addressing the owner’s behavior, he once YELLED at me due to the fact that I refused to pay for mis-​aligned copies that HIS machine made. This was in front of other customers, and absolutely humiliating. Especially since no one was at fault (it was the copy machine).
A different time, I printed out some items from the Pony Express print station (wasn’t even on the computer for a minute) and I was charged $ 1 to be on the computer on top of the print outs. (Yes, that’s $ 1 for 30 seconds worth of breath). Then, as I was putting the letters into envelopes, one of the aggressive owner’s minions came over and DEMANDED to count the copies. She was standing RIGHT behind me had no manners whatsoever. She could have politely said, «Next time, please let us count your print outs, to insure we charge you properly.»
The icing on the cake, was the last time I went in to do «business» the owner snarkily said, «have a great day!» This is passive aggressive behavior and intolerable. Not coming here anymore.
The ONLY reason I went here in the fist place, was for convenience, and, because the UPS store nearby, has high school kids who don’t know jack. And, who are just as ill-​mannered and careless with their work, chatting, gossiping etc. What a joke.
Anywhoo, look elsewhere, but sincerely take into consideration that the owner is hostile and the place should be shut down.

Been using their mailbox service for a year. It’s not cheap, but it’s close. If you do a lot of mail, you will find cheaper rates elsewhere the surcharge seems to be about 50% but traffic is bad and it’s close to my house. The owner knows everyones name, and it is a safe and secure place to have packages delivered. For mailing twice a month it is fine. If you have a lot to mail you will save a ton going elsewhere.

So, In general, i would give benefit of the doubt to a small business who uses USPS. I went to ship my package to Europe that I know costs $ 10.67. I expected a small surcharge for this, but at Pony Express Juanita, it is over 20%, I was told it would be $ 15.48 and tough luck. I said to the owner, this seems very high and what rate can you make it, he throws my little letter back to me and says I can go to the USPS instead. I told him he has LOST a customer and he said whatever, and so I now share on here, telling friends, family EVERYONE IN THE AREA NOT TO USE HIS SERVICE. Well done, and oh yes, I will continue to write letters, and tell people not to use your service, and inability to even listen for a second that the customer could be right!
BUYER BEWARE!

Highway robbery at its finest. They charge $ 10 for ONE notary signature. Seriously!!! There’s an extra charge to drop off USPS parcels and the rates to print documents are much higher than most places around here. I love supporting local businesses, but UPS is much kinder to my wallet and has better service!

Great little quick stop shop for your shipping needs. Service is very friendly and they do their best to help you. The only drawback is there can be a line and it can be slow rolling. The staff do their best to keep it moving but they could use a few more bodies there to eliminate wait time. Overall, great spot!

Great place for notorizing paperwork! Quick and efficiant service, and doesn’t cost much either. Just what I needed :)

Simply put,
Poor service. Poor staff knowledge of customer service and postal service. It’s slower and unsure when mail will be delivered. Extremely dangers when driving in and out of sloping downward parking.

This place is convenient, and does what I want it to do.
This place is like a mini post office/​convenience store. The interior layout is a bit weird, since there are two (or three??) entry doors and only one line for the counter, but that’s not really a problem.
There was a bit of a line while I was there, but it moved reasonably quickly. The staff are friendly; I was served by the owner, who was civil, but a bit short since well, I guess there was a line. He did seem pretty friendly with people who were regulars there, and if someone was just dropping off a package (they had a preprinted label) he would pick them out of the line since their transaction took 5 seconds at most, so they could leave and the line would move forward.
I don’t think I’d be using their printing/​scanning services unless I desperately had to. $ 3 for three pages? No thanks. To be fair, the price drops after the first three pages, but still, that seems a bit steep.
There’s parking but (like the Michael’s across the street) it suffers from having an awkward driveway, so sometimes getting in/​out can be tricky.

I’ve been passing this place almost every day for over 2.5 years and today was my first time to need it. I checked in via Unilocal app and then checked the reviews. Feeling scared to see how many 1 and 2 stars there were it was the review by Jerelle I. that made me go in. I was greeted by the Owner, Andy, and I let him know I wanted to mail a package. He set me up with the box, bubble wrap, and packing papers inside the box and let me know all my options from cheapest to highest. I went with the middle Fed Ex option that would get my box to Texas in the least amount of time of all three options. Andy double checked with me that the address I wrote down was the address he put on the label, which was nice. Andy was very friendly and helpful throughout the interaction. The store was clean and had a lot of options. The parking was plentiful and it was easy access from the Juanita area roads. I would recommend this spot to anyone and will definitely return now I know there’s friendly customer service inside.

I thought I had a pre-​paid shipping label. The clerk (likely manager/​owner) informed me that my label was not the pre-​paid type. I checked and he was correct. I elected to pay to ship via Pony Express (in this case using a USPS subroutine). A USPS office would have provided (apparently free) tracking for this particular type of package/​shipping method. The Pony Express excluded the tracking and charged me 20% extra (both of these updates came as a surprise to me, as they became clear only after the transaction; the receipt has ” 20% 0.64 «). I was also late in learning that it would be a cash transaction.
I paid 20% extra, via cash, to not get tracking. I plan to avoid this store. I note that PE is conveniently located, in the 98 034, which has limited shipping options. I agree that the cashier tried to inform me of my label specifics and did ship my package (though the silent recipient has never acknowledged receipt, which is extra frustrating without tracking). I still recommend researching the variety of alternatives. Thanks, PE, for inspiring me to study Kirkland shipping alternatives.

I was there few days ago to drop off a prepaid package, and didn’t charge me any drop off fees which was really great because i think i heard they charge for drop off.
While i was there i came across that the ownership has been changed and maybe that’s why they don’t charge for that anymore.
Anyways I would definitely continue to use their service since the new staffs were very friendly and it is very conveniently located.

Went to drop off a prepaid package. Box wasn’t taped closed and they wanted to charge me $ 5 because the package wasn’t «ready to ship». $ 5 for tape? Are you kidding me? Taking my business to the UPS store where they are more than willing to throw in free tape!

The convenience of their location is really the only think they have going for them. I went to drop off a prepaid package at their store — mind you a store I have visited on countless times to ship stuff from and they charged me to ship a prepaid package. I asked the gal at the counter — who by the way was very sweet, «why are you charging me on a prepaid package, does the Post Office charge you for a pick up» Her reply was, «no we don’t make any money on dropped off packages so this is our way to earn some money.» The price was only $.85, but really? What is wrong with giving repeat customers a break? I will drive the extra 5 minutes to other postal stores in the area to drop off my packages.

Terrible service. Owner was very rude and charged me $ 7 to drop off a fedex prepaid box. Drive a mile down the road and use the Kirkland FedEx.

Nicest little space to use at rent on computer, and for faxes or printers, copiers ! Items to buy like at Kinko’s too ! Mailboxes for some persons to rent out !

The comcast website has Pony Express-​Juanita listed as a payment center. However after making the trip there, found out they do NOT take payments. The female employee there was very nice about it, and offered up how easy it is to make my payment online. I will contact Comcast about updating their website!

I’ve had a few experiences with this place that were just OK, one that was just unsuccessful, and my most recent one has crossed us over into a firm «I will not be going back.»
The «just OK” — If I’ve printed UPS shipping labels off at home (like to return something purchased online), I’ve dropped them off here a few times without incident. It’s still not a very nice environment or anything– dingy and unwelcoming, and both staff members I’ve encountered were frosty.
The unsuccessful trip– you’d think a place that specialized in shipping would have a good selection of shipping supplies. They don’t. They only have paper mailing envelopes, no poly or tyvek. As much as I prefer to support local business, I’ll have to order the good ones online instead. And again, not friendly or helpful when I went in to look.
The last straw– I even called in advance to double check this, so I thought by the time I got there that I could have a success. I asked if I could leave US Mail there for pickup, since the packages I had to send wouldn’t fit in my outgoing box at home. When I got there, I was abruptly told that they charge 85 cents (per PIECE) to drop off mail for pickup. I was pretty surprised by this, but I think I was still polite when I asked why. The guy, the same guy who’s been neutral at BEST in previous interactions, used the complete «dick» tone of voice to say «Because that’s what I charge.» The tone was very rude and I felt undervalued and offended. 85 cents would have been half again what the postage cost was for most of my six items, so I declined and left.
Putting aside the question of whether this fee is reasonable, you, sir, are an ass. I love supporting the merchants in this neighborhood, and letting me drop packages off would have guaranteed my return business when it’s time to buy tape, if I need copies, if I need to ship something that hasn’t been printed out at home. But now, because of your horrible attitude, I won’t be back, and I’ll be telling my friends to stay away, too. You’re a black spot in the otherwise friendly map of Juanita.

I have no idea how they stay in business, but I like that in a pinch I can ship or mail something here. The staff has always been good to work with.
By all means, Pony Express isn’t a sexy place (like those bright and shiny FedEx/​UPS stores) but is an acceptably attractive alternative. Gets the job done, ya know?

Dear Pony Express,
You are there when I need you the most. That’s what counts. Like a perfectly worn in sweater– predictable, comfortable, hassle-​free.
No fancy-​shmancy printing machines or scanners here. No binding services or poster making.
You are NOT open ²⁴⁄₇ and the line is sometimes long.
B/​W Copies? done.
Mailing and Shipping? done.
A working FAX? done.
Birthday card and a Red Bull? done and done.
Here’s to supporting the «little guy» (instead of Kinkos!) and making small talk about what’s going on in J-​bay.
