I hate to give a rating for a salon because of one stylist, but in the end the salon is responsible for its sylists. Alission completely butchered my hair. I now have what is essentially a mullet with very choppy upper layers. I reiterated at least three times at the beginning and during the appointment that I didn’t want a style, just a trim. She spoke to me about framing my face, and adding more volume to my hair. I told her that I’m growing my hair out, and she said that she’d never compromise that. Six inches… gone. It’s a mullet that can only be fixed by taking off another several inches of overall length. This one haircut has wiped out the past year’s worth of hair growing and hair cuts. I can’t decide if she gave me the haircut that she felt is appropriate for me, since she was so set on framing my face, regardless of my constant insistance on something else – or if she was so stuck on her idea that hair grows faster in some areas of the head depending on sleep patterns, and after finding out that I sleep on my back, she cut my sides shorter to compensate. I’ll take some accountability for not putting on my glasses throughout the haircut and checking it more throughly before too much damage was done – but, really, should I have to at a $ 50/cut salon?

I am very picky about my hair and I have to admit that Shoko from Viridis salon exceeded my expectation. I saw her twice already and every time I saw her she was extremly nice, she listen and asked questions and most important she took time to do my hair exactly how I asked her. She is one of the best hair designers I have had and would recommend her to all my friends. I also like the idea of green salon and the fact that receptionist was polite and provided excellent customer service. Great job!

I like the idea if green, I know a little bit about GREEN and this salon is far from it. Great use less harmful coloring products filters and recycled stations, The things I noticed Towels are they being washed in house and in what? Tide, Great, serve tea that makes you green, not. If you say your a GREEN salon educate your clients on what makes your business green and help them to understand what that does for them. This will make the value of your over priced services maybe worth it. The staff is BLA, music bland, decoration ??? there is none. The only one great thing about this place is a bright smart stylist that will go far. I love my color and cut!

A positive experience. I would recommend my new hair stylist Holly. I did not understand the meaning of ‘built green’ until Holly explained it. The direction of a ‘green salon’ is more costly to the salon owner as well as the patron. They are not ‘tree huggers’ nor am I, just wanting to leave less of an footprint. My 2.5 hr appt resulted in a very natural looking highlight, a hair cut/trim that was exactly what I described. Holly took the time to listened to me, did not rush, answered all my questions. I recommend Holly and the salon because of their commitment to the environment, being different.

5⁄09 update: I haven’t been back to this salon since my original hair dresser left, shortly after I wrote the review, I believe. I’m actually looking for a new place that’s closer(instead of having to drive into Seattle), and will most likely use a salon that’s favorably reviewed on Unilocal

I went here for a cut and color, was completely underwhelmed, and would not return. The stylist, Monica, that I had seemed like she was just going through the motions. The consulation we had was cursory at best, and she dashed off to mix my color before she had a good sense of what I wanted(and as a result the color was a disappointment). After applying my color she left me to sit for so long that I had to go and track her down and remind her to rinse my hair – by that time my scalp was burning and itching. Usually, I love having my hair washed by a stylist, but when Monica washed my hair she was extermely rough and I felt like my head was being banged around in the spin cycle of a washing machine. Instead of feeling calm and pampered I was completely stressed out. The hair cut was fine, but when I went to pay the price was $ 15 higher than what I had been quoted on the phone. Green or not, I definitely wouldn’t return to this salon.
