My husband & I stopped by for dinner tonight. I had the lobster roll, which was fantastic, & my husband had the 12 oz rib eye. He wasn’t very pleased w/his steak as it came covered in balsamic & he doesn’t like any sauces on his steak. The grits were great. Service was really slow took about 15 mins just to get someone to come take our order & another 30 min wait for the food. It wasn’t bad, but I wouldn’t recommend it & probably wouldn’t go back.

I was optimistic after reading the reviews that were more positive than negative. Our dinners were below average and over-priced. I was served a half haddock filet initially and they were out of cole slaw for BBQ. Service was below average as well… staff was scrambling around, a couple sat next to us and wasn’t welcomed for 15 minutes, our server was forgetful or not trained properly. The positives — location, location, location and local support. Hopefully, improvements will made based on the reviews.

What a beautiful view! Had lunch… buffalo wings, brisket sandwich(to die for) and jambalaya(outstanding). Great ambiance! Many people seemed to be annoyed due to small cups but not us… We will be back.

Many menu items unavailable. Poor service by willing servers who have not been trained how to do it right. Flies all over the windows. Not cheap. Not quick. Wonderful view of the waterfront. Would like to be touristy — because the locals come only once and don’t come back.

We are fortunate to live in kittery point and have been to the Cajun lobster many times to take in the incredible views and enjoy some cocktails and food! They had a great band playing inside one night so we decided to stay for dinner! My husband had the most amazing melt in your mouth brisket and I had the haddock sandwich which was cooked perfectly! The service was really fast and friendly and Andre the owner came over to make sure we were happy which is always nice! This is a casual fun place with incredible views and smiling faces! Next time you’re in Kittery. Point give the Cajun Lobster a try!

The haddock sandwich was pretty good. The onion rings weren’t good at all. I suggest getting fries instead. The service was very slow.

This was an awesome dining experience. My wife and I have been in New England all week — and this was by far the best lobster roll we have ever had. Just a hint of cajun seasoning– and cooked to a tender and juicy level(not rubbery like the others). The atmosphere was great — and no one is trying to hurry you! A must visit for anyone in the area.

At first I was disappointed that they did not have grits but the brisket was sooooo very good that I forgot all about the grits!

This is some of the best BBQ I’ve ever had. I went with a large group on the 4th of July, and not only was the food great– service was quick and attentive as well. Any issues that others have mentioned regarding erratic service and slow ticket times have clearly been ironed out. Aside from the fun servers and owner, I personally tried the ribs and the pulled pork, and both were flavorful and cooked to perfection. You also MUST try the corn grits. They’re the best I’ve ever had. Check this place out!

If you need to be gluten free, rest assured that the owner takes cross contamination very seriously. There are numerous choices that are GF that don’t need to be altered. This is not super spicy Cajun food. It is moderated for New England palates. My favorite so far is the jambalaya. I’m also a huge fan of the roasted corn grits side. The owner, Andre truly cares I can’t comment on the noise level because I’ve always eaten there when the band, By Request is playing; however, I can tell you the band doesn’t play so loudly that you can’t have a conversation. There is a bar upstairs, a deck with picnic tables and umbrellas, and on the main floor is the main dining room. Service still has a few kinks to be worked out but don’t let that keep you away.

Worst dining experience I have ever had. Waitress that took our order had no idea what she was doing, knew nothing about what came with meals. Never refilled drinks and absolutely no food for almost an hour(it was not that busy). When we finally did get food, it came in shifts and half of the meals were missing sides. My meal finally came after everyone else had finished eating. How much time does it take to make a lobster roll? My daughter went to use the restroom and the toilet in the women’s bathroom had backed up and was not operational. When we finally get the bill, we were charged $ 24 each for a lobster roll and a barely one pound lobster with no sides and half melted butter looking substance, $ 18 for the smallest piece of severely overcooked salmon I have ever seen served in a restaurant and another $ 18 for an overcooked rib eye(that I had to clarify twice to the waitress was NOT ribs). The only person who apologized was the waitress and that was literally ALL she did. The only good thing about this place is the view, and you can just drive a little further down the road and see it for free.

great experience! I have food allergies so I modified the menu(I know annoying) and asked for the lobster roll over lettuce. They gave me lobster over a lovely salad! Also got a nice boozy Bloody Mary. The owner is from Louisiana so there’s Cajun food, traditional New England seafood and fusions. Yessss! The servers were attentive and the owner/management was present and checking in with us. They have a beautiful patio with a great view. What a great spot! Highly recommend!

We stopped on Father’s Day for étouffée. It wasn’t on the menu tonight but I was kindly offered a sample of Andre the chef’s favorites instead. My wife and I feasted on briscuit, blackened salmon, lobster roll, corn and crab bisque, and corn grits. While each dish was superb, the briscuit and corn grits were the best dishes in a truly enjoyable dinner. I travel quite a bit and the food at Cajun Lobster is authentic southern fare. We will be back.

Good view n good food. Unique selection of Cajun BBQ. And seafood. Quite pricey at $ 15 for a modest yet yummy BBQ pork sandwich & $ 25 for a rack of ribs. But the view is very relaxing.

We ate at the Lazy Lobster last evening. They don’t fully open until May 1st, one of the girls told us. It was pretty amazing. My wife loves fried haddock. It came with a wonderful Cajun dusted crust. It was the best fried fish she had ever had. I tried it and it was OFFTHEHOOK. Brisket was slow roasted, sweet and melt in your mouth. The corn grits were a surprise. Slow roasted corn went into the grits, very different and VERY good. It was our first time here and the view and people blew us away!!! Better than any view in Portsmouth. I saw a couple earlier reviews and I was surprised. The staff went OUTOFTHEIRWAY to make us happy and feel comfortable. Looking forward to going back with a full menu on May 1st!

Had a bad experience here. About 10 of us in the group, about 5 thought the food was inedible. Took forever to get served, took even longer to replace the food we complained about. They were good about it, but just couldn’t make up for the damage. I don’t like to give poor reports, but we were unhappy…

A work in progress, but a lot of potential. Food is great, view is unbeatable, service is a bit rough but getting better. Once they open the bar upstairs I’m sure I’ll be a regular.

Can’t rate the food because they had the outdoor part closed on a sunny 80 degree day and they only had one person working. She really discouraged us from staying. Kept saying it was only her working. There was one occupied table. We left. Don’t know how they stay in business this way.

The brisket is simply out of this world! Lobster roll — excellent. Location — amazing, close by the Fort McLarry. The location is new, just a month in business, so the kinks are being worked out — but the magic ingredient — amazing food — is clearly there. Chef is a Louisiana native, a recent transplant and clearly a nice, welcoming guy. His son waits the tables and pays attention to the guests and their silly requests — like the need to fend off the pesky Mosquitos — got us three mosquito lanterns to save our feet! We are typical spoiled New York foodies(our favorite piece of furniture is our La Cornue :-)) and we loved our experience here. Good luck!
