This is the kind of place that would spoil you from eating a lobster roll anywhere else. We each got a lobster roll and then split a «small» order of fried Bob-style clams(wanted less batter). Everything was amazing. The lobster roll was brimming with meat, and it had the perfect amount of seasoning. Nice touch of butter on the roll too. The clams were great; they include the belly! I’ve never had fresher, juicier fried clams in my life. I like the variety of dipping sauces too. We were so full that we had no room for ice cream. This place is definitely worth a return trip.

Have you ever eaten food so delicious and fresh that it feels as if theres no way you could be consuming calories? Thats what happened here. Ordered the lobster rolls which were like butter! They were meant to be consumed and slid rather swiftly down the gullet. The customer service was also phenomenal. They threw in free items for us to try. And ladies there’s an outlet mall in the area! It’s a win win for the whole family!

After a nice afternoon(dragging my boyfriend) shopping, we stopped by at Bob’s Clam Hut. We got the seafood special, jumbo lobster roll and two fountain drinks. IMO the bun for the lobster roll was a tad too buttery but I’m guessing that’s how they all are. They even have chipotle tartar! Pretty standard prices for seafood. Everything was good and in good portions. It’s fun to sit outside, enjoy the weather, rest our legs and eat. Will be back for some lobster stew.

We just had our first meal at Bob’s. The young man that took our order made sure our first impression was a great one. I couldn’t decide between the lobster roll or the clams and he took care of me. The lobster roll was phenomenal! He got me a sample of the clams so I wouldn’t feel like I missed out. Win #2. So glad we made this stop on our trip up the coast. I highly recommend!

Pretty good stuff, just a little pricey. The staff were phenomenal and even brought a bowl of water out for my dog. Another bit plus was the parking, they have people there to show you where to park. No problems at all! I wish there was more seating, but people tend to move in and out pretty quickly.

You want some fried seafood goodness? You got it. We got an order of fried scallops and fried clams complete with French fries and coleslaw. This may not be high class seafood, but it hits the spot when you want something fried and delicious. There are lots of tables outside and indoors, but outside is great on a beautiful warm day. I do hear sometimes it’s so packed you can’t get a table, so keep that in mind on weekend late in summer. The food is a bit on the expensive side for the casualness of the food, but this will still make for a great lunch spot.

Quintessential New England. Don’t be scared of fried food when you come here. We shared clams, shrimp, fish, and chicken and were happy campers. It was our first stop after getting off the plane and driving up the New Hampshire coast.

All outlet shopping areas should have a great place like this. We chose to eat first then shop, but the other way around works also. The fried clams are big, crunchy on the outside, tasty on the inside, and boosted with the tartar sauce. The fried fish was fresh and succulent. There is a lot of seating outdoors and staff continually keep the area clean. The only thing missing is a scenic view — go to Roberts across the street for that.

My wife and I took a trip through New England and we chose this place to get our seafood fix. As we pulled up to the restaurant, we see a huge party gathering outside. The restaurant was celebrating their 60th anniversary! So, instead of ordering normally, we bought two tickets to the party and had their amazing lobster rolls and fried clams. Make sure you get the whole-bellied clams, not the strips! Other local restaurants offered amazing food, as well. Finally, they gave each attendee a durable tote bag! Bob’s, thank you for welcoming us to your celebration!

Casual roadside restaurants with lots of outdoor seating. All of the usual Maine Lobster choices along with lots food options. Very friendly staff. My lobster roll was delicious. Very fresh. They made a very minor mistake on my onion rings butt they gave me a free ice cream. Great customer service. I have tried 4 different places this week for lobster rolls and this is in the top two. Go visit, it’s fun

The lobster roll is worth visiting Bob’s clam hut with the buttered roll and copious amounts of lobster. The chowder was also delicious. The woman at the window helped us decipher the menu and best options to order for first-timers(like us). We ordered a roll, fried clams, chowder, fries, cole slaw and the woman added fried scallops(for free). The fried clams(well known to this restaurant and to Maine) were good but after a few, tasted too oily. The scallops on the other hand were perfectly cooked and more memorable than the clams. Self service: order at the window and when the food is ready, your number is called. Overall a great restaurant experience with memorable food.

Great food for a nice bargain price. We saw the crowd outside when we were shopping at the mall and so decided to stop in. First of all the parking was easy because there was a parking attendant helping direct traffic. Ordering was easy and food only took about 5 – 10 minutes to be made despite a pretty large lunch crowd. I got the haddock sandwich and it was excellent. My wife ordered a non-seafood dish and it was good. The couple sitting at the same table as us loved their fried clams. Overall just a genuinely good experience for a fair price. Will definitely head back the next time we are at the outlet malls.

My wife and I stopped by for lunch on our way up the coast. This place is great! My lobster roll was quality stuff — I could tell it was fresh lobster meat, and while I couldn’t tell exactly what the seasoning was, it was a solid lunch. My wife had the fried clam box, clams tasted great. Clam chowder was good as well. Well worth a stop for a meal!

Super busy and solid, but not exceptional food. We stopped by to grab a lobster roll and some fried clams. The lobster roll was severely overpriced for what it was and they messed up our clams order. Props to the service, they gave us a free ice cream for having made a mistake on the order. Good, overpriced, not exceptional seafood. Food ordered for 2… — Order of fried clams: Pretty good batter to clam ratio and they tasted fresh. — Lobster roll: Good amount of lobster, but a bit too much mayo. Bun lacked crunch. Overall solid and tasty.

We were doing some shopping at the Kittery Outlet Mall and stumbled(using Unilocal) upon Bob’s. What a great spot! They have all different kinds of seafood– lobster, crab, oyster, clam, mussel, haddock, scallop… and possibly some more I’m forgetting. We shared a lobster roll($ 15) and junior seafood basket($ 25). The lobster roll was good, served cold, which is most common. The small roll is buttery and toasted and absolutely stuffed with lobster meat. The seafood basket is a combo of different types of fried seafood; we had scallops, clams, and haddock. The basket is served with fries and coleslaw. The scallops were my favorite; haddock was hubbie’s fav, but it was all delicious! Super low-key; order at the counter, then they call your number for you to pick up at the window. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor seating is also dog-friendly!

This is my family’s second time in the area in the past two years. We had to stop by again. Awesome friendly service & hospitality by Kendra & staff. Thank you Kendra for everything & your awesome smile. Love the food & nice portions. Awesome lobster rolls, best hands down. I’ve had lobster rolls up & down the coast(west & east coast), & these are absolutely the best, you gotta get the jumbo lobster roll. Calamari, clams, & even the grilled cheese sandwich was awesome. Thank you all. Keep it up. LOVE this place.

Really enjoyed our meal at Bob’s last week. Had actually gone to Chauncey Creek but they weren’t open yet for the season but Bob’s was a more than adequate substitution. We split a clam and oyster plate, paid some extra to sub in onion rings and split a lobster roll w/fries. The food was fried perfectly, no greasiness at all. There were a couple tough clams but other than that, super tasty, good cole slaw, nicely grilled hot dog roll with tasty lobster. The plate was about $ 22 and the roll w/fries was $ 18 I think. We overheard a young kid getting the lowdown on how to be a good employee there. Man, you’d think they were joining the CIA with the long list they went thru but it seems to pay off.

Bob’s is as good as it gets! We got whole belly clams baskets, clam strip baskets, and a couple of clam chowders. If you like the watery kind of chowder, this is the place for you. My girlfriend and I aren’t fans of the watery kind, wish I did my research on that before ordering it. They had lots of ingredients and I was getting decent sized clams from it… just wish it wasn’t so watery! The whole belly clams and clam strips were the best we’ve ever eaten. The whole belly clams weren’t SUPER huge, but just the right size for that perfect belly to strip ratio. We got both the strips and whole bellys friend the traditional way. We will definitely be returning to this great seafood stop!

Ok, I’m visiting from Texas — first time in Maine. So what do I know? I know I just had a great meal. The Lobster Roll was all I heard it could be. Tasty, filling and just what I was looking for. The place is cool — no dining inside. It’s a hut! Benches & picnic tables to dine outside. I ate in the rental car. The roll was great & the fries were crispy, hot and perfect. My son Justin told me I gotta have a Lobster roll. I asked«what is it?». He said don’t worry. Just get a good one. I believe I did!

I really, really enjoyed my meal here. The food was hot and tasty, but it was really the high attention to detail and to customer service that puts this roadside fast foodery in the five stars category. Normally I’m not a fan of casual dining, but this space is worth checking out. The ambiance is casual and friendly. The space is open and has picnic tables in the back. There’s also a photo op cut out for a single playful individual. To order, queue at the front(there are helpful signs around back that lead to the entrance) and remember your order number — there are two pick up windows and loudspeakers all around that will notify you when your food is ready. I was also really excited to see a side window for Mt. Desert Island ice cream, which came recommended by a Maine resident. We sampled the fried clam strips, calamari, coleslaw, french fries, bread, and the ice cream(vanilla bean, chocolate, and the coffee flavor wingnut). My Maine frequenting companions stated that the battering of the clams and calamari was thicker than normal, but I liked everything I had. The free«bread» pickles were an added bonus — they tasted lightly brined and were crinkle cut, super thick, and served as a salty appetizer while waiting for our food. The customer service was excellent. I had two totally unsolicited and friendly conversations with the staff, saw a teenager staff grab an empty straw cover that someone had left on the soda fountain while speed walking on another errand, and had unfailingly polite and friendly interactions. Everyone seemed to genuinely care that we enjoyed ourselves. Solid five stars.
