I would rate this place higher if they were ever open.
I remember coming here a few times years ago and it was so nice to sit outside and enjoy your meal with a beautiful view of the Stanislaus River. But it seems to have fallen in the wrong hands. Last time we were here the meal was horrible and the place looked like it was falling apart. We have since stopped by several times on our way to/​from the mountains and they never seem to be opened. We once asked a local if the place had shut down and he said, no, they’re just not opened on weekends. What?!
This place has a lot of potential, it just needs the right owners.

Ate here with a large group of tired rafters after a day on the Stanislaus with rafts from the Stanislaus River Rafting River Journey Adventures. We ate outdoors and the staff accommodated our unannounced extremely large and dirty group of parents and teens quite nicely. It was funny that our waiter knew one of the gals from our group when they were both younger and living in SF-​ha, small world huh? Well, needless to say, the waiter got a mammoth tip and we ate quite well. I would absolutely go again were I in the area! A small town with a big city restaurant-​nice!
