Snack restaurant at Po’ipu Beach Club. Split a burger with my sweetie. Came with shoestring fries. Good burger. Cocktail okay. Very limited menu. I think they do daily special and there were no fish tacos offered today. Glad they have a place to get drinks and food while spending sometime at the pool.

Had great hopes for this location. Visited it right after it’s opening and thought it had very good food and an interesting menu. Visited repeatedly over the summer and enjoyed it with some reservation. It is located in an Athletic club with a pool that acts as the pool and AC for Kiahuna plantation, it had a very limited Kids menu which didn’t make sense based on location and the pool area full of families with kids. We have been to the pool twice and ordered drinks and discovered the menu was completely different from before. It was now mainly BBQ with again a couple of kid’s items and no longer any ice cream on the menu!!! We were very disappointed! They had also stopped carrying a very local beer and are not stocking Koloa Rum distilled on the Island or Ocean Vodka made on Maui. They do offer Pau Maui Vodka as a local offering. We hope they find themselves and discover what type of menu and food offerings make sens for the location and customer base. The kitchen seems to have some young talent! Surfdolphin

This place is a must for a relaxed and uncrowded dinner and drinks. We hit the concert on Saturday night and had the best time ever in our short time staying here. Great bar, good food, and an amazing venue. More concerts, please!

We were surprised to realize this is just the snack bar to the local pool — that said, the fish tacos, onion rings were pretty good. The watermelon cocktail of the day was amazing! Cozy spot for a lunch or quick snack, and definitively great for lunch by the pool.

Tried out the new menu at Hapas the other day. Love the smoke house idea. My smoked turkey with spicy sauce was tender and delicious. Great view, tvs, cold beer. Can’t wait to go back and try more from the new menu!

Good food. The burger and fries were good. The fish taco was as good as a fish taco can get. The beer was cold the settings was nice. it is kind d of hidden away on a smaller resort. Really unique setting. I would go back

Unfortunately, the food here needs help. We should’ve been wary when we were the only diners here at 7 pm. We ordered: Fish tacos– very bland and they had no salsa or pico de gallo Coconut quinoa– way too sweet and was served cold. Was it supposed to be? Short Rib potstickers– these were dip fried. I’m sure they wouldn’t stick to a pot if they tried! Tasty but average Green chile Mac and cheese– I liked this at first but with a second helping just realized it was only good in comparison with the other dishes. Chicken wings — They were only good because they came with the dipping sauces of teriyaki and buffalo. However, on their own they lacked flavor altogether. Ceviche– average. Reminded me of eating at Chiles. Sorry, the menu sounded good but I think that Hapas survives only because of the captive pool crowd.

This place is great! We went on our first night in Kauai and the staff was so friendly and the patrons at the bar seemed to be having a ton of fun, living the island life and all! I had the rum punch special and it was very tropical and refreshing. We ordered the short rib wontons, the Hawaiian flat bread and the burger, all of which were super tasty. We came back for lunch a few days later and I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and the potato salad and both were delicious. Good portion size, very flavorful and satisfying. Tasty drinks and food poolside. Next time we are in Kauai, we are definitely coming back!

Great food. It’s an athletic club so only members can swim but we just sat at the bar to have a quick bite. Everything our family ordered was good.

Great, peaceful location. We ordered the fish tacos(my husbands favorite) and also had some sort of Korean wonton… very delicious!

My wife and I had a long day exploring the island and we’re looking for a good, low key place to eat close by our hotel. We came across Hapas and decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised with great service and good food. I’m sure we’ll consider going back before the end of our trip.

Got the ceviche as a pool side snack. Tasted like it was tucked back in a fridge for a long time, definitely over the expiration date! Smelt funky! Also it came out with tortilla chips, not fresh taro chips… bummer all around! Service was nice.

Hapas is a fun, but goofy place. It is located on the premise of a public pool and only has outdoor seating. We ordered a beer and a mai tai. Because we were near a pool they served them in plastic cups as opposed to glass. The food was okay but portions were much smaller than expected especially given the price. The Hawaiian pizza was different than your typical Canadian bacon and pineapple. The shrimp embrochette was very tasty, but also small.

I’m a regular foodie on the South Shore– work 1 ½ miles away and live 2 miles away. Great open air seating. My favorites are the Kale Salad,(great salad dressing), pulled pork sandwich, Nachos and the Cheeseburger. Bartenders are great– friendly, fast and obviously love their job. Highly recommend for a hot summer afternoon to head over and get Leah to make you a refreshing drink at Happy Hour. I gave a previous ¾ star review only because I didn’t try enough of menu or experience the drinks and staff. Been there at least twice a week since, and they’ve earned 5 stars. Casual and fun.

Nice place to relax. Not to crowded. Food is quite ok, nothing special. Try The Cheech. Best Cocktail. Primo is the best beer on Tap.

Though very slow, the service was friendly. The location has potential to be a fun poolside atmosphere however the food and drinks could only be describe as barely average. This was by far our least favorite meal and drinks during our week long trip.

Since we are staying at Kiahuna Plantation condos, we use the pool and gym at the Poipu Beach Athletic Club across the road. Located there is a small outdoor café, Hapas, serving breakfast, lunch & dinner. Breakfast menu is small but does include an egg breakfast wrap, fresh fruit, etc. no lattes or espresso, just coffee & juices. Lunch & dinner is a great selection of pupus(appetizers), sandwiches and salads. There is a full bar also offering an assortment of house Hawaiian drinks. I’ve tried several of their pupus each day at the pool with a Mai Tai. My favorites so far are the fish tacos(3 to an order) and the pulled pork sliders(3 to an order) with fries. The service is very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend if you want a place out of the way with good food and reasonably priced.

We came to this place because we were staying at the Hyatt and wanted to eat at restaurants outside of our resort. This is easy walking distance from the Hyatt, although you could drive if you’re feeling lazy. We noticed the sign from the street and thought we’d check it out. It’s basically a really small athletic/country club with a pool that has bar/restaurant service. It’s all outdoor seating and very casual. The drinks were all around $ 8, which is pretty reasonable for the area. We opted for the coconut quinoa and mushroom tacos, as we were looking for vegan options and were informed that both are vegan without omitting any ingredients. We had initially wanted to order the falafel burger which, sadly, ended up having egg. We also each had a cocktail. The mushrooms were cooked extremely well and were served with spicy Granny Smith apples on top. The coconut quinoa was like a chilled salad. The whole presentation was very colorful. We thought the chef could easily be working at one of the higher-end restaurants on the island! I would love to see what else he/she can do with vegan dishes. My bloody Mary was good, although it was a little weird to get it in a plastic cup. I guess because of the proximity of Hapas to the pool, they can’t serve drinks in a glass. Overall if you’re vegan in Poipu and looking for options other than Puka Dog and your resort, this is a good option. You probably won’t be able to get much other than the two options I just listed, but they’re so tasty that we would go back and get them again.

a breath of fresh air with friendly staff and a well rounded menu. while membership is not required to eat here, I am thinking of joining for the water slide, gym and tennis courts.
